Consumer Complaint: Dear Sir or Madam : This is regard the same claim I already submitted but now the amount has increased to {$20000.00} with a different card. Same claim. I am writing to dispute a fraudulent charge on my account in the amount of now {$20000.00}, I am a victim of identity theft, and I did not make or authorize this charge. I am requesting that the charge be removed, that any finance and other charges related to the fraudulent amount be credited, as well, and that I receive an accurate statement. This request is made pursuant to the Fair Credit Billing Acts amendments to the Truth in Lending Act, 15 U.S.C. 1666-1666b, 12 C.F.R. 226.13. See also 12 C.F.R. 226.12 ( b ). Please investigate this matter and correct the billing error as soon as possible. On XX/XX/XXXX a credit card was opened in my name and {$10000.00} was transferred to an organization called XXXX XXXX XXXX, which from what I have researched is now XXXX XXXX. " More than two years after closing the {$66.00} XXXX merger of equals between North Carolina-based XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX, the combined bank will finally rebrand branches under its new name, XXXX '' Somehow that amount increased to {$20000.00} under a different credit card number according to the people ( and there have been many ) that I talked to at BOFA fraud XXXX. I have no idea what this different credit card is and no one seems to be able to clarify this. The people you are able to contact, don't research the claims and I have no way to directly speak to the actual individuals who do. They can not give me any details about how conclusions are reached, and can only reiterate what message has been sent to me on my claim dispute page. A one paragraph response, with no contact number or explanation. I contacted the fraud department at XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) and they confirmed that I have no account with them. I did have a car loan through them which was opened via XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in NJ in XXXX of XXXX, but I refinanced that loan with XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) for a lower rate in XX/XX/XXXX. The account with XXXX was paid off by XXXX XXXX as of XXXX XXXX and closed. I have had no account with XXXX XXXX since XX/XX/XXXX. The fraudulent credit card transfer of funds to XXXX XXXX XXXX occurred in XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX the exact same thing occurred with XXXX, which I have no accounts with. A credit card was opened in my name and {$10000.00} transferred to some account. In that instance XXXX actually called me and confirmed that I did not do this. I have the number of the case if that would help. The case was swiftly closed. BOFA ( Bank of America ) not only transferred {$10000.00} to a bank I have no account at, but also never contacted me before doing so. When I saw this on my statement I immediately reported it to the BOFA fraud line ( there is no other way to contact them ). They apparently researched it and after a month or so, a message was sent to inform me that I was responsible for the funds because I transferred to my own account ( at a bank I have no account with ) to cover an overdraft through " Balance Connect '' ( a service to cover overdrafts at BOFA not other banks ). This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. What overdraft, I have no unpaid or overdraft accounts. Where is this account?! This was a short message with no other explanation and no one to contact. I have since frozen all my credit with the 3 credit bureaus, reported it to Consumer Finance.Gov and am filing a police report. I am very responsible with money, all my debts, which consist of my mortgage, my car loan and my daughter 's student loan are always paid on time and I have never missed a payment. I have excellent credit. I have more than one credit card with a {$10000.00} dollars credit limit ( I have a XXXX card with a {$14000.00} credit limit ) as well as my 3 BOFA cards. Why would I open another one if I wanted to transfer money on a credit card? Which, by the way, I would never do. That would be ridiculously irresponsible. I have 4 credit cards. I don't need another. I have them to build credit, which this fiasco could destroy. I never carry a balance on any of my credit cards. I pay them before they are due. Please have someone who actually has investigated this case contact me directly. This is {$20000.00}, that's a great deal of money. I think I should be able to talk directly to the person who has decided this is not fraud and give me a thorough explanation as to how they reached their conclusions. An anonymous one paragraph message is utterly unacceptable when dealing with this amount of money. It seems to me this was not thoroughly investigated because the whole ordeal makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. This is a nightmare. Of Note : when I worked for XXXX University XXXX XXXX XXXX there was a security breach of information, perhaps that is how my SS # and other info got in the hands of these fraudsters. Who knows. Consumer Complaint: The Bank of America XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, NC XXXX Dear sir, I would like to write this letter after reviewing the messages sent by your company. It seems that I received the message that resolved on XX/XX/XXXX of XXXX regarding my claim XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. This message showed that initiation date was XX/XX/XXXX. Around that time, I have notified fraud alert, middle of bunch of assignments, and applications, issues regarding another company illegal transactions, I could not handle properly and could not open the message section. I just read that the claim was resolved at that time, and I just thought what I could do if your company said so. Then, today, I received another message telling me again this acupuncture transaction. I realized the matter was reopened, and I recognize this letter which looked like the one I received one week or more before. I just filed that there was no claim number and I could not send any information. Anyway, as far as I remember, I must have already submitted the information, which the letter indicated. And the letter indicates the address XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, TX XXXX ; therefore, this information will be sent only this address. As fee of postage is on me, I just want to complain this inconsiderate of continuous appearances of claim numbers, XXXX ( XX/XX/XXXX ), XXXX ( XX/XX/XXXX message was sent and initiation date was XX/XX/XXXX ), XXXX ( XX/XX/XXXX ), and XXXX ( XX/XX/XXXX ). All of these claim numbers were shown at the opening page of message center ; however, once you open each claim, all claims claim number is XXXX, which is same with account ending number XXXX. Even it seems confusing, the claim is meant only XXXX claim toward XXXX XXXX XXXX, {$58.00}. Sincerely,

Consumer Complaint: Good evening, My name is XXXX XXXX. I have been a victim of Identity Theft. The thief took control of my online account and went did a bunch of unauthorized charges. The bank decided to close my accounts and flagged my accounts. By doing this, I can no longer bank with them OR open accounts in with other banks due to banking reporting systems such as XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX. I think it's unfair that even though I've shown proof of Identity Theft and have been a loyal customer for many years, I am treated with such disrespect. Every time I call customer service it's a huge run around and I simply don't understand what to do. I get transferred to another department, explain my story and get sent around again. Please have the bank fix this situation.

Consumer Complaint: I called Bank of America for my disputed transaction I have two disputes and 2 refunds that is not in my account. Last year i filed a complaints beause they took {$1300.00} twice from my account I never got my money they make it seem that they credit it but they took the money on my account twice I let that go, They also charge me so may fees. But I went on XXXX had a XXXX XXXX so now I have only XXXX not much every month, B of A also did let me withdraw on the pandemic time I got an ATM from XXXX for the bank won't let me withdraw. XXXX to XXXX I Supposed to get {$3800.00} that I didn't get from XXXX, and they won't give that back to me.XXXX wont give it to me now. I'm with bank of America XXXX plus years. I just want a temporary credit for {$61.00} or. XXXX I called the dispute dept on Arkansas they are so prejudice to me the first representative I talked is so fresh like he knows everything he said I have to wait 90 days for investigation I told XXXX ( think that is name ) that I need to talk to their supervisor because I felt so bad the way he talk to me and already deciding for the supervisor I just ask for temporary credit they can take the money they can take it back that's my money that i entrust them to. they can take it back from my account when if they find out if i don't deserve that money. I told them the person I paid have a deceiving website they are from XXXX, and they won't let the get a temp credit, I told them I'm going to XXXX after XXXX they make beg for my own money and treat me like criminal, I didn't get my order, so I dispute it. XXXX and XXXX I told them I already file a complaint at XXXX and XXXX. He put me on hold them a woman supervisor talked to me I got so upset they are not even sympathetic they sound degrading. Prejudice they make me feel like I'm a criminal. I got upset I explained to them that I need that money everybody is having a hard time now. the vendors sit on my money. I have XXXX on my savings at that time, they just don't want to help out, I end up just giving up and said that I wish they get a karma for being so bad to me. the next day I took my savings, but I have auto pay account it will be very difficult to change account. i have XXXX. I was trying to use my ATM card it declined my transaction. I called B of A their customer service the following day he told me that my account is closed. I ask why didn't let me know? they didn't even let me know its two days before XXXX I almost had a XXXX. XXXX then i ask why did that to me, how much is my balance is? he said that they can't give me any information about my own account that they close. I'm very frustrated with this bank they think they can just do whatever they want on my account? why they treat me like like this?

Consumer Complaint: I have asked Bank of America to stop mailing me promo offers for 2 years and they WONT stop! I am starting to think im part of a sick joke. Why arnt you at CFPB doing anything? Are you fining BOA? It is a law they have to stop when i request them to stop and they have not. Is there a pending class action lawsuit i can get my name added too? Can i get BOA legal departments email? I have attached photos of OVER 50 promo offers... and sadly those are just the promos i have kept since requesting them to STOP!!

Consumer Complaint: Bank of America froze my accounts. I called in and asked what was happening and the first person I spoke to said there was a deposit in question theyd return it and my accounts would be back to normal. Then days went by and I received letters in the mail that they were closing my accounts. Then I received letters something about they may investigate my accounts and if they see anything like fraud I would not get my money. Year or two passed I still couldnt find anything out. Even after I received letters stating my accounts were closed and it wouldnt accept any transactions in or out. They still accepted direct deposit and XXXX payment. I contacted them every few months then after about a year they said they were done with their investigation, but I would have to contact the parties that deposited money into my accounts in order to get money that was in my account. Which is crazy since some of the deposits were XXXX payments from a year or XXXX prior which cant be reversed. Also direct deposits from Unemployment that were from prior year. I even contacted my unemployment and they said the bank institution should return the payment or payments in question and then unemployment would send them to me another way. Yet Bank of America is just holding any and all of money that was in my account even after they investigated and gave me NO ANSWERS! Its been several years now and Ive been trying to get my money.

Consumer Complaint: 3rd month that I am waiting 5 days for my paycheck due to B of A 's new policy that is illegal and actually is not following banking guidelines. See guidelines below. Check coming from same account at same time for 4 years with no issues- like a paycheck should be deposited by next day no issue. Funds from check deposits are supposed to be available by the business day after the date of the deposit ( Regulation CC, Section 229.10 ). There are however exceptions that may cause a hold to be placed on the check ( Regulation CC, Section 229.13 ), but the reasons for an exception are clearly stipulated, and none of them apply to my situation, account, or the check in question. BOA, in line with the exception rules states in their Deposit Agreement and Disclosures document ( page XXXX ) that they reserve the right to place a hold on check deposits if : We believe a check you deposit will not be paid You deposit checks totaling more than {$5000.00} on any XXXX day You redeposit a check that has been returned unpaid You have overdrawn your account repeatedly in the last XXXX months There is an emergency, such as failure of communications or computer equipment If these issues are not present, they have not right. What they are actually doing is Usery- they are using our money illegally. You have again allowed the bank to put the burden on the people instead of making banking institutions accountable for their shoddy practices. With interest being high they now think that we should wait to feed our families and pay our bills so that they can, a second time, ruin our way of life to make money. When is anyone going to step up and fine banks for every mistakes/theft that they make. There have been no consequences so far to bad business for banks - how about we change that.

Consumer Complaint: Paid XX/XX/2023 statement ( XX/XX/2023 - XX/XX/2023 ) complete per the balance due ; payment was posted to the account on XX/XX/2023 for the full amount on the statement. XX/XX/2023, a valid charge was posted to the account in the amount of {$26.00}. XX/XX/2023 statement ( XX/XX/2023 - XX/XX/2023 received with an interest charge of {$2.00} on a balance of {$150.00} as of XX/XX/2023 XX/XX/2023, at XXXX EST and a twenty ( 20 ) minute duration. I was advised that the interest is from the {$36.00} charge that posted to the account on XX/XX/2023. It was clarified to the Bank of America representative that the account per the XX/XX/2023 statement was paid in full as of XX/XX/XXXX, response yes. Clarified again that I am being charged interest of {$2.00} on my XX/XX/2023 statement for the charge that posted to my account on XX/XX/2023, which is after the XX/XX/2023 statement parameters, response yes, I can be charged interest for that charge until it is paid in full. Bank of America can charge interest for the previous two-month statements if the charges are not paid in full. I advised that I did not agree with this policy and that I would not be paying the {$2.00} interest fee and would be filing a complaint with the Consumer Finacial Protection Bureau.

Consumer Complaint: I had been a customer of BofA for over 30 years, but closed my account after moving to a XXXX town in Texas with no local BofA close by. I was told that my money could not be transferred to my local bank and that I would have to wait for a cashier check. I was told that my account was closed and when I went online to check I couldn't get into my account any longer so I accepted that it was closed. When I didn't receive my check, I called and was told that it takes two weeks to close an account. That seemed odd, and then I was told that it takes another 10 business days to mail the check. After a month, when I called again I was told that the account had never been closed. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I NEED that money now. They had no right to withhold it from me for that long. Now, I'm told that I will have to wait another 10 business days and with the holiday that's two weeks. I believe that the bank simply keeps your money as long as they can. Incompetent and criminal. Nothing can be done now, but someone needs to let these banks know that it is wrong to keep people from accessing their hard earned money when they need it to survive.
