Consumer Complaint: Hello, On Dispute Number : XXXX I had an American Express Agent call me and discuss the details on the phone. The first thing they said was " This is a recorded line '' and we continued our conversation. During that conversation the Agent said ( paraphrasing but listen to the recoding ), that the signatures do not match up. They continued to deny me my refund because the merchant provided signatures for my disputes, but on the call the Agent admitted that none of the signatures matched up. So i supplied additional materials of the invoice they gave me with NO SIGNATURE at all just my typed name, and a letter of testimony from a witness and phone number to call to verify what happened. The recorded testimony admits ( they recorded the call ) that the signatures do not match up at all. They proceeded to ask for additional documentation which I provided. But at the end of the day they sent a letter back saying the merchant provided signatures and that is good enough. That is amazing to me after what the American Express Agent said on the recording. We are going to small claims court to resolve this at this point unless American Express decides to listen to the recording, look at the evidence I provided. The date is set for XX/XX/XXXX in XXXX XXXX. I really hope that whatever agent is looking at this listens to the call and realizes that nothing is adding up. They ask for additional materials which I then provided to them. This is getting redicilous that the XXXX not only is getting money from Me/Amex but also the Insurance, and I had to have the sugery RE-DONE in XXXX because they XXXX it and will XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX properly ever again. This is insanity and I hope we can come to a resolution before I got to Small Claims Court to plead my case with my 20+ documents of evidence that proves this is fraud. All I get back it a letter saying the merchant shows signatures on the receipts. Even when they don't match up and are charged at random times. I can't stress this enough, they took my items when I want into the XXXX, then used my card when I was in the XXXX XXXX XXXX and forged my signature. Thanks, XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I have tried using 3 American Express virtual reward/gift cards adding up to ~ {$1500.00}. In most cases, the cards are declined at most retailers online ( e.g. XXXX, XXXX ). I've tried to have this resolved via American Express ' customer service, but have not reached any resolution. Unfortunately, I believe American Express is doing this purposefully and this may be a scam. I would highly recommend investigating AmEx 's gift card practices.

The call to the company was not helpful because it was hard to find a real person to talk. I want to find a way to use the gift card. It is certainly not as easy as what they describe on their website. Very disappointed with AMEX.

Consumer Complaint: I was given the American Express e-gift card on XX/XX/23 in the amount of {$35.00}. I have confirmed the card is active and the balance is available, yet when I have tried to use this gift card following every rule as outlined by American Express, the card is declined. I have always processed purchases for under the {$35.00} amount and it is declined each time. I have tried purchases from XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. Each time, the retailer will hold a small amount ( {$0.00} ) and eventually, the hold is dropped because the purchase was declined. I have also attempted purchases using the card via XXXX XXXX without success. American Express has effectively left me with no method to access or use this gift card.

Consumer Complaint: I opened an American express rewards checking account on XX/XX/2023 with the promotion direct deposit XXXX and more get XXXX. I completed the direct deposit requirement on XX/XX/2023. Until now I still haven't received the bonus. The terms clearly mentioned if you are American express business checking account customers, you are not qualified ; if you have an existing rewards checking account, you are not qualified. By checking upon my status, I didn't fall into these 2 categories and therefore I am qualified for the bonus. I have also attached the snapshot of the webpage where I applied for this account. It has the information that I mentioned above. And that is the only information provided from American Express when everyone applies for this rewards account.
