Consumer Complaint: Received the AMEX gift card {$750.00} and tried to place several orders on XXXX but all got declined. XXXX XXXX pending transactions showed up under spending history but still can not have the order placed. It's a gift card should be able to spend everywhere, in-store or online, according to the description listed on the website. Called AMEX customer service but got told it's XXXX declining the transactions even XXXX told me it's declined by AMEX. Asked customer service to solve the issue but kept telling me there is nothing they can do and asked me to use the card in other store, which is not the purpose I am planning to use the card with.

Consumer Complaint: I was given a {$30.00} American Express gift card ( non reloadable ) and tried to use it for various purchases, but was declined each time. I tried XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, and XXXX and they all declined. None of those transactions were over {$10.00} so the balance wasn't the issue. The card was activated successfully according to the instructions on the back of the card. The website says it should work at any merchant that accepts American Express, but that just isn't the case.

Consumer Complaint: I the consumer and natural person was denied credit by American Express company on XXXX XXXXwhen I applied for an American Express gold card. According to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act adverse action against a consumer is against the law which is codified in 15 U.S.C 1691 ( c ) and is pursuant to civil liability under 15 U.S.C 1692 ( k ) due to the response I received by American Express they are subject to criminal liability for violating 15 U.S.C 1692 as I have proof that I was discriminated against due to the response I received. American Express is in violation of 15 u.S.C 1642, 15 U.S.C 1681 ( m ) and 12 CFR 1002 because I, the consumer made an application in good faith, but credit was not issued. Furthermore, because my social security number which according to 15 U.S.C 1602 ( I ) is defined as a credit card was used and I received no benefit l, this is proof of fraudulent activity ( unauthorized use of credit card ) on behalf of American Express. If American Express fails to make any reasonable procedures to resolve this matter and compensate me for the use of my credit card I will indeed make American Express criminally and civilly liable for all actual damages pursuant to 15 U.S.C 1681 ( n ) and 15 U.S.C 1681 ( o ) I will also follow up with an invoice for said violations ( {$1000.00} per violation ) please reply back by written statement only within 5 business days of this notice, Thank you XXXX : XXXX Agent/beneficiary Without prejudice. Consumer Complaint: I, the consumer and natural person was denied for an extension of credit by AMERICAN EXPRESS on XX/XX/XXXX when I applied for a credit card. Adverse action against the consumer is UNLAWFUL according to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act which is codified in 15 U.S.C 1691c and is pursuant to civil liability according to 15 U.S.C 1692k. American Express is subject to criminal liability for violating 15 U.S.C 1691, as I have proof of discrimination due to the response received from you and is enclosed. Consumer Complaint: I received an invitation to apply for a business American Express card. I applied online I use my XXXX number, before I use my XXXX number I read all of this disclosures and nothing in there say anything about pulling my personal credit for an American Express business card once I submitted the application, I received a alert from XXXX saying I have a hard inquiry from American Express. This was on XX/XX/2023. I immediately call XXXX and explain to them that I never gave my Social Security number out. I only use a XXXX number. They explain to me that I have to reach out to American Express to get a deletion letter. I called them and told them to withdraw my application and I need a deletion letter. They told me that they can not do that because I gave them my XXXX number that told them to run my personal credit, I told them no it does not because I never gave you my Social Security number. They also stated that in the print disclosure it's in there I went over the print with a representative. And I did not see nor read anything about using my personal Social Security number for this card. I canceled the application because I felt that they misled me by me using my XXXX number, and that was a trick to my personal credit. So now I have a hard inquiry that I feel is fraud I don't want any problems with American Express. All I want is them to delete it off of my credit report that's all and that's why I explained to them that I wanted a deletion letter but they said no so XXXX gave me this information and told me to contest it through you all, so please help me because this is wrong. I have a business credit card that I use my XXXX number and they never ran my personal credit so for them to tell me that is what happens when you feel out for a business. Credit Card is not true. please help me. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: I have called this customer service line at least 10 times. I have been trying to use this ( {$50.00} USD ) gift card for a year, and it will not work. It is declined every time. I have called multiple numbers, been told the card would start working if I waited 24 hours, now the menus have changed and I can't even get an agent, it just hangs up on me. I asked to have them send me a check and they refused. This company is an outright scam ( amexgiftcard.com ) and they are basically stealing money by making the cards impossible to use.
