Consumer Complaint: Sometime around XX/XX/2021 I applied for a credit card on American Express, XXXX XXXX XXXX, I applied for this credit card to get to XXXX miles bonus and {$200.00} statement credit, I had to spend any amount of money on XXXX XXXX to get {$200.00} credit statement and {$2000.00} or more to get this bonus promotion of XXXX miles. I did complete the requirements and american express never gave me the promised promotion. I aksed for an explanation, they told me that it could be for having alredy used this promotion before, which I never applied for this promotion. they told me that it also could be becuase I had used other credit card, which is not true, they never provided to me any clear explanation why I was never given the offer. I submitted 3 different disputes and none of them gave me a real answer of why I never qualified. after a extensive research of finding reason why I did not get this promised promotion, I got to the conclusion that I deserve to get this bonus offer from american express, but they never helped me to solve this unfullfilled promised. american express unresolve disputes : case XXXX case XXXX case XXXX by XX/XX/XXXX customer service seemed not to care about my complains and never helped me to provided what I was promised

Consumer Complaint: I have had American Express, for twenty years, since completing college, in XXXX. I have never had a problem like this with my two credit cards. The bills were paid, early, each month. However something changed from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. I was admitted to the XXXX. During the stay at the XXXX, my credit cards and checking account numbers were compromised. An assailant was using my bank accounts. There are several criminals with the same phone number. I reported this to the police, the attorney general and to American Express. A criminal made three false payments to my Amex accounts from XXXX to XXXX and they changed my address to one in XXXX, NJ. I believe that the individuals who had stolen my items from security, at the XXXX, from XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX XXXX, started fraudulently damaging my credit and banking accounts. In XX/XX/XXXX, I set up a new checking account to make payments to Amex, however, without a notice, my Amex accounts were cancelled, two days, before the due date. I am a XXXX, I work XXXX and I also sell items to pay for my credit cards each month. I have enough money to maintain my cards. I would like to reinstate both accounts. Again, I have a long standing history with the company, and this problem should not have occurred. What is the best possible way to have the accounts reinstated?

Consumer Complaint: As an Active-Duty Service member, I am ashamed and disgusted with how I was treated during my call with AMEX. On XX/XX/2022 I contacted AMEX in regard to a defaulted account. I explained that I had experienced a financial hardship and that I wanted to re-establish a relationship with AMEX by satisfying my debt. After speaking with the representative for about 20 minutes discussing available options, he informed me that his manager, XXXX, was listening in on the call and wanted to speak to me. XXXX began speaking in a hostel and threatening manner, stating, " they were going to send my account to collections if I didn't take the offer and that I didn't want that ''. When I refused and ask about the financial hardship program, he became annoyed and spoke to me in an intimidating manner. He then told me AMEX didn't offer financial hardship programs, which I know isn't true. I explained, the person I spoke to previously, told me he would get to the perks of the XXXX and now you're telling me this isn't a thing. I informed XXXX that I wanted to come up with a plan and put things in writing so it's a binding agreement and he refused and said they couldn't assist me because I wouldn't make a payment during the time of the conversation. He later stressed the fact that I hadn't made a payment in over a year. I then told him that understood how things worked and that I wanted an agreement. I even stress the fact, AMEX had reported my accounts incorrectly on my credit report that gives misrepresentation of my account status, but my intentions weren't to challenge them but to meet common ground. I have never experienced anything as such from AMEX.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2022 around XXXX pm XXXX time I receive a text message some one try to use my card if i want to us my card l need to verify those transactions and my answer no i didn't authorize those so and then i receive a call from the number XXXX and answer this call was a male person he told me he call from server amex which is my card bank so he asking a lot question about my account end XXXX so after the conversation i did not was a fraudulent call so i was give my information social security driver license and password from my account email address and he say was cancelled my card and sending a new card but a never receive so Thursday morning l have another text message if i doing transfer for XXXX from my account to pick up in XXXX so i say no is no me so after couple minutes when i check my account i note less money so i try to call the bank o card services and my account was block and no money after when i call several times l call fraud department and they give me all the details about the Person pick up the money and transaction number is the Person name is XXXX XXXX transaction # XXXX and XXXX store number is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Florida so this person is a robber identity theft he or she use my card fraudulent please help me to find this person to search and sending to jail for scam and fraudulent person and then i call the company Amex server for my money back and then they tell me that dispute was denied because l was authorize this transaction and case number # XXXX i have with me a evidence that l did not authorize this transaction text message from the company server they asking me if i approved and l was response no but they pay authorize the transaction l don't feel safe anymore money in this institution

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX XXXX sent a fraudulent gold card in my name. I did not find out until XXXX. I filed for bankruptcy in XXXX. In XXXX I called to get statements to pay the cards off and they sent me more statements then I had cards and that is when they told me about someone calling saying they were me to send out a card. Well I paid it not know because they never told me what card I was paying just the amount due. The last time I used my gold card was XX/XX/XXXX. They have removed the charges but I'm still waiting on a refund for the payments I made. The have copies of all statements showing my payments but nothing. In is going on XXXX years the keep telling me the back office is working on it and there are no updates. I have reported it to their complaints department many times and nothing. They keep telling me they will have someone call me and no one has ever called me this whole time. XX/XX/XXXX is when I reported this and to this day no one has called me. I want my money back is is well over a XXXX dollars I have paid on charges that I never made

Consumer Complaint: My husband passed away on XX/XX/XXXX. He had an american express business account and while trying to resolve his balance with estate services I requested his XXXX statements to be sent to me so that I could file his XXXX taxes. American Express will not send the statements. I have requested that the statements be sent twice ( ( XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX ) twice and they tell me each time that they can't tell me if they have been mailed since they can't see this in their system. I asked that they be sent via email then. They told me that they can't do this. I asked if this was because we have a balance that is being disputed. They told me I was not responsible for the balance left on his corporate card, but that it might help if I paid the balance off. I asked to speak to a manager about why they can't tell me if and when the statements had been mailed. They told me the manager was not available and they would leave a message. I have not heard back from anyone. I also asked if there was another department that I could speak with that could give me more information, I was told no. I think I am getting the runaround, which is awful considering that my husband was a loyal cardmember since XXXX and now they are trying to squeeze me right after his death.

Consumer Complaint: I am XXXX XXXX XXXX and Im writing this complaint myself. There is no third party involved. I, a consumer, natural person and original creditor of an open-end credit plan, was denied of my right to credit by American Express National Bank on XXXX XXXX XXXX when I applied for an extension of consumer credit through my social security credit card as defined by 15 USC 1602 ( l ). I was notified of this discrimination and transgression of my rights via US mail when American Express National Bank mailed me an adverse action letter in violation of 15 USC 1691 ( a ) ( 3 ). It is AGAINST FEDERAL LAW to discriminate against any applicant with respect to any aspect of a credit transaction because the applicant has in good faith exercised any right under this chapter pursuant to 15 USC 1691 ( a ) ( 3 ). Adverse action is defined in 12 CFR 1002.2 ( c ) ( 1 ) ( i ) as [ a refusal to grant credit unless the creditor makes a counteroffer ]. American Express denied me of my right to credit without making a counteroffer and instead, discriminated against me, a consumer, in violation of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act. 12 CFR 1002.2 ( n ) defines discrimination against an applicant as treating them less favorably than others. American Express is in violation of 15 USC 1642, 15 USC 1681m and 15 USC 1691 and is liable to me and subject to enforcement pursuant to 15 USC 1691e, 15 USC 1640 ( a ) ( 2 ) ( A ) ( iii ) and 12 CFR 1002.16 for the sum of actual damages for failure to comply because I, the consumer, made an application in good faith, but credit was not issued. A hard inquiry is proof of a transaction and I have one from American Express under AMEX from XX/XX/XXXX as can be seen in the attached portion of my consumer report from XXXX, which was generated on XX/XX/XXXX. My social security number ( credit card ) was used, and I received NO benefit/equity. This and the attached copy of the adverse action letter sent to me is proof of fraudulent activity ( unauthorized use of credit card ) on behalf of American Express. If American Express fails to make any reasonable procedures to resolve this matter and compensate me for the use of my credit card I will indeed make American Express criminally and civilly liable for all actual damages through administrative enforcement and shall follow up with an invoice for {$10000.00} pursuant to 12 CFR 1002.16 ( b ) ( 1 ) and the sum of actual damages. To avoid litigation or further injury to my person I am requesting a credit card with a $ XXXX {$10000.00} limit as I look to build a good standing banking relationship with American Express National Bank XXXX have mailed American Express National Bank this notice and request to provide remedy for discriminating against me via certified mail # XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, with an expected delivery date of XX/XX/XXXX. As a federally protected Consumer I am demanding remedy for violation of my rights and to be granted equity for the use of my credit card in the form of a credit card from American express with a $ XXXX limit as I look to build a banking relationship in good faith. Attached to this complaint is a copy of the letter mailed to American Express National Bank, a copy of a portion of my consumer report that shows an inquiry from which I didnt benefit, as well as a copy of the adverse action letter that was mailed to me. I also included copies of my ID, my SSN card as well as a copy of my current lease in order to verify my current address since it differs from the one used during my initial application. I expect a response within 30 days of receipt and an offer that remedies the transgressions against my person and beneficiary status.

Consumer Complaint: I purchased two American Express gift cards for {XXXX} each and sent them to two friends of mine on XX/XX/2022. Upon trying to redeem the recipients received a zero-balance message. Upon getting that message I called American Express immediately to report the stolen cards. I was told on XX/XX/XXXX ; the cards were redeemed in TX but are pending. I was told Amex will put a hold on them, and I was to call the stores and ask to stop the transactions, but no info on whom to call other than they were XXXX stores. I called Amex back and I was to check back with them on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called Amex on the off chance that they may have finished whatever they were doing early, and at that time l was given the name, address, and the phone numbers where attempts were made to redeem the cards ( BTW, it was not in Texas, one was in TN and the other was in NH ). In the meantime, I consulted with a lawyer, and I was told the store that sold the cards and the place where the cards were redeemed have no responsibility to fix the problem of the stolen cards, the responsibility lies on the card issuer. However, I called both stores and confirmed what the lawyer said, they have no responsibility to fix the problem. I called Amex and asked them what can be done at that point and I was told the cards were redeemed on XX/XX/XXXX and they quoted me the Terms and Conditions and there is nothing they can do for me, despite the fact that they fed me the wrong information, made wait till the cards were redeemed, and giving hope that I may retrieve my money. This happened to me two weeks prior also but did not know what to do about it, in a span of four weeks I had {XXXX} stolen from me in Amex gift cards. Please let me know what documentation is required of me. PS. I was asked at the end for a card #, I do not have an American Express Card, this is about a gift card issue.
