Consumer Complaint: They still have not placed me into a payment plan like other cardmembers and now they are illegally allowing criminals to access my American Express account online. Criminals have now gotten onto my account and made two illegal payments of about {$300.00} from my XXXX account. I was in agreeance to lowering the credit limit and entering a payment plan of about {$55.00} a month for two Amex cards if they are re-opened. It seems like some XXXX, XXXX or other people related to the CEO are logging into my account and making very large payments to my account without my knowledge. Why does the CEO allow such large payments to be taken from my account when my account is closed? When I had my account opened I paid the normal monthly balance like other clients? I never had a problem with my account until I entered the XXXX in XX/XX/2021.

Consumer Complaint: American Express has a feature called " Plan It '' by where they allow you to select certain charges and get a fixed monthly amount to pay. They offer a calculator to show you what you COULD get as a plan term. But no way to actually see what your plan would be based on the information they already have about your account. This calculator is deceptive. If someone goes in it and says they are going to make a {$4000.00} purchase and it shows only 24 months as an option and a monthly payment of {$160.00}, they may think that is reasonable for them to pay and go make the purchase. Then turn around to creating a plan, and that same person with no other changes to their account could only get offered a 3 month term to pay it off. Meaning {$1300.00} a month. That is far higher than they expected based on the calculator. American Express will vehemently defend this saying their calculator clearly says it is only for appearance and your actual terms will vary based on XXXX data. Which, is just a way for them to wiggle out of responsibility in being fair and transparent. They are luring people into making a purchase and then switching the options on them. This is a classic bait and switch scheme, no questions asked.

While starting application when i filled all the info after that again offer changed to XXXX miles instead of XXXX miles. I gave a call and check with representative at Amex. Rep confirmed about XXXX miles. When i completed my application I want to double check and make sure about welcome bonus. So i check with rep through chat box available on AMEX mobile application. After 3 months also i checked after using {$2000.00} about the welcome bonus over chat box. Representative confirmed about my eligibility and told me to wait for statement cycle to close. Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, we are all facing which has me sitting still at home and I saw the recent news about the multiple XXXX Data breaches. I decided to look at my credit reports from the 3 major credit bureaus and found that someone had used my Identity. I have no idea how the theft took place. I also have no knowledge of any suspects. I did not receive any money, goods, or services as a result of identity theft. I contacted the Credit Bureau and told me to file an Identity Theft Report which I am doing.
