Consumer Complaint: The card is working for deposits to the account, but not for expenditures. The card has over {$4000.00} on it now, but I can not buy anything with it or take money out online or in person. There is no way to contact customer service. The contact numbers are U.S. : XXXX and International : XXXX. When I call these numbers I just get an error message or hangup. I have called dozens of times over several weeks. When I go to my online account, there is no option to email or chat for help with my account. There are no notifications of any problems with the account on the online account. I receive regular emails from the credit card company about my account, but there have been no notices about any problems with the account or the card. The emails do not allow me to reply to them.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/17 I attempted to make a wire transfer from my Amex High Yield savings to my external account which had previously been verified. I received a call from someone at Amex wanting to do a 3 way call to verify ( again ) my account and was told that they did not do telephone confirmation. They asked me to fax over documents from my external account... I did ... 4 times and heard nothing back. I kept checking my account to see if it was ok but the account had a block on it from XX/XX/17 which I was never informed of. I filed a complaint with CFPB. I got a response back stating that I was told there was a block which I wasn't ( check the recordings you mention everytime you call ), I was also told I had never sent the required documents which I had... in fact when I spoke with XXXX in Bank Operations he was looking at the fax ... days before the CFPB Amex response. Here we are weeks later and I still do not have the funds and still do not have an answer. I call many times a day and am either told I will be called back which I never get the call, or am told something was wrong with the fax and to re-send then wait 2 days for it to b received then call back. This is ridiculous. This was part of a XXXX and now I look bad because I can not get the funds to pay to help... I need this fixed and I need the funds in the account wired to either of my external accounts ... asap. This situation is not funny and I am having XXXX where it should be XXXX. Now they want an Affidavit of Identity which I have faxed over 5 times and Paid {$25.00} to have it notarized.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, American Express incorrectly charged me {$400.00} with a AmEx XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX charge. I called for XXXX minutes on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX hour XXXX minutes on XX/XX/XXXX minutes on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX hour XXXX minutes on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX hour on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX hours XXXX minutes on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX hour XXXX minutes on XX/XX/XXXX. Over the course of those calls, I learned that the {$400.00} charge was AmEx reversing XXXX {$200.00} credits that they had provided me, and for which they rightfully owed me for promotions on hotel stays for which XXXX of my stays qualified. AmEx secure messages stated that the stays that received the credits had been cancelled, although this is not the case. There were XXXX eligible stays, and so I should have received the credit. No representative I spoke with could explain the discrepancy or why the credits were reversed. Multiple of the agents opened disputes, multiple agents also opened reconciliation cases. However, an " XXXX '' department always closed the cases without reaching out to me or the original agents.
