Consumer Complaint: I opened an Amex card through numerous offers sent to me about these different cards and no annual fees. The card they assigned me had a {$250.00} annual fee. The website, literature and terms are very misleading. I dont have credit issues and I dont use credit enough XXXX justify paying that kind of money to have a credit card. I have several and they have no annual fees. I did not see annual fee until I received a statement on XX/XX/XXXX asking for payment starting in XXXX. Amex say it was billed in XXXX but that doesnt make sense and the statement shows otherwise. I cant pay for something I cant see. They told me I missed deadline to cancel by three days. I guess Im supposed to be psychic and know what statements will say In advance. You can see I only signed up for account access on XX/XX/XXXX. I have tried to resolve this issue with company to no resolve. I just want to cancel unused card and terminate

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I checked the mail at my business XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and noticed I received an offer from American Express, I figured I'd apply since they keep sending me officers every month saying GOOD APPROVAL ODDS if you apply. After Appling I was declined for reasons not clearly specified, and they stated in the denial letter that my XXXX score was XXXX which confused me even more on why I was declined. Its not good business practice to SOLICIT to consumers that their approval odds are great just to decline the application causing damage to the consumer report, making it harder to be extended credit in the future. After my denial for the business credit card I called American Express and applied for the personal credit card since they already pulled my consumer file and I wouldn't receive another inquiry. I was told buy the argent my application was under review. I received and email from American Express and the portal say provide required information, but when I click the view the full decision details it said declined because I was declined in the last 30 days.

Consumer Complaint: I logged into my amex online account on XX/XX/XXXX and found out all my cards were cancelled and I found a voicemail in XX/XX/XXXX, someone from amex wanted to talk to me and I called back right away. Amex service team told me it was a business decision they closed my account and all my rewards points were gone when they closed my account. My concern is Amex didn't warn me anything and shut down my account without leaving me choice to redeem my rewards points. I have been with Amex for almost 8 years and spent tons of money using Amex since I am a small business owner. I spent a few XXXX a year on Amex and I saved over XXXX XXXX rewards points ( about $ XXXX cash value ) on my account. And all are gone, they just wouldn't allow me to redeem them so I lost so much money!!!

Consumer Complaint: Purchase a prepaid American Express Serve card almost {$500.00} was put on it when I purchased it. I activated the temporary card. I went to use it and the money is gone. I did not register it it said you can use it just activate it and use it. I needed to pay bills I was not planning on reloading it. So I use it as a temporary card like any other prepaid card that I've used I've never had a problem with. Use this for the first time and this is a horrible experience. Contact a customer service couple times and I was told that my name was not on the card it was someone else 's name. And then just received an email stating I authorized the purchase a {$450.00} so I will not get my money back and that is that it will not even let you reply to their email. They will not explain what happened if I authorized something I would like to see my name somewhere. Me being told another name was on the card that I had in my possession in my hand. Pretty much tells me fraud. So if they are not willing to tell me what I authorized and let me know all the information then they're hiding something. They've already told me that there's someone else 's name on the card. They will not give me any more but you authorized it we're not paying you back. Please help

I looked up the correct definition of a Coupon pursuant to The XXXX XXXX dictionary A coupon is a written contract for the payment of a definite sum of money on a given day, and being drawn and executed in a form and mode for the purpose, that they may be separated from the bonds and other instruments to which they are usually attached Please be advised that I received your statements and coupons from Account of AMERICAN EXPRESS. ACCOUNT NUMBER-XXXX in the amount of {$990.00} I accept your offer and I am returning your coupon as Tender of Payment pursuant to 3-603 ( a ) If tender of payment of an obligation to pay an instrument is made to a person entitled to enforce the instrument, the effect of tender is governed by principles of law applicable to tender of payment under a simple contract. ( b ) If tender of payment of an obligation to pay an instrument is made to a person entitled to enforce the instrument and the tender is refused, there is discharge, to the extent of the amount of the tender, of the obligation of an endorser or accommodation party having a right of recourse with respect to the obligation to which the tender relates. Consumer Complaint: This is regarding American Express XXXX XXXX benefits. I signed up for the XXXX XXXX in XXXX of XXXX and enrolled in the Hilton Honors XXXX status XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX. It has now been almost XXXX months and I have still not received the status match. I have called Amex XXXX ( number on the back of my credit card ) over 8 times, escalated the ticket twice, and still nothing. I paid {$700.00} a year for the XXXX benefits and have yet to receive the Hilton benefit. Every time I call, I am told that a ticket has been recreated and for me to call back in 7 - 10 business days. I have also been told to call Hilton. I've called and email Hilton and they mentioned that it is an American Express issue. Hilton has gone as far as to reach out to American Express themselves only for Amex to tell Hilton that I need to call Amex themselves ( did 8 times already ). The last thing Amex mentioned to me was now it's suddenly a widespread issue with Hilton matching on their end and while they are trying to resolve it, there is no resolution date in sight.

Consumer Complaint: I made a purchase with my American Express Card with a XXXX called XXXX XXXX. The Merchant refused to give me copies of refunds they were processing for me. The merchant did give me a Text that I would be receiving the {$9000.00} refund. This has yet to happen. The Text to me becomes part of the contract and is valid as proof that I am owed the Refund. American Express is failing to enforce this. There are other issues that will be addressed when you read the attached documents. This has been an over XXXX month Battle with American Express and with the merchant XXXX XXXX that committed fraud with my card. Please see and read all attached documents with greater Details. I started my written complaint with American Express within 30 days of the purchase. In Addition I have requested from American Express on XXXX separate occasions in writing for them to send me XXXX pages of NON Legible Documents. This has still yet to be sent to me. I also feel that American Express is committing fraud with me. I have also requested in Writing from America Express how long i have to resolve this issue and American Express has failed to answer me. I have other written Documents that were sent to American espress. I am including the First and the most recent written Documents as i am trying to lighten your load as this case is extensive. I could include prior documents should you request them. I have written the merchant and sent them a Certified letter and the merchant has failed to respond to my letter. I appreciate your efforts on my plight. At the time of this purchase i thought i was purchasing just {$7000.00}. The total comes to almost {$17000.00}. At the time of this purchase i was in the process of XXXX XXXX XXXX and i would have never made such a large purchase. This is very burdensome on me. XXXX XXXX : XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: It appears that my credit file has been compromised. Again, I was going through my records & noticed many information, account or item which do not belong to me. Since Im a stickler for research, I found that under section 605b of the FCRA you are required by law to remove & block any accounts or information which is found to be opened due to identity theft. The dispute items do not belong to me. Im attaching the required FTC Report for you and the bank 's records ( learned through more research both parties require ). Please block/remove these files. If you feel there is a possibility this account belong to me I will require all documentation that bears my signature ( another research item I found that requires you to verify with 100 % accuracy that each account is 100 % true, accurate, correct, complete & VERIFIABLE ). If you do not provide any records & claim the item is verified please understand I will seek legal action. I do not take kindly to games nor does my attorney. Consumer Complaint: American Express is reporting that I owe an alleged debt in reference to account # ending in ( XXXX ). I am requesting that American Express provide verification of this alleged debt proving that I owe the company. Let 's be clear American Express hasn't loaned me anything and neither have I borrowed anything from American Express. The Truth In Lending Act never defines the terms loan or borrower. So why is your company stating that you loaned me money, or I borrowed money. I conditionally accept American Express claim of this alleged debt under the following conditions. Please provide me with a certified accounting ledger notarized and sworn to under the penalty of perjury to attest to the fact that American Express loaned me money, or I borrowed money from the company. Need I remind American Express that federal law ( 15 U.S. Code 1602 - Definitions and rules of construction ) defines a credit card as any card, plate, coupon book or other credit device existing for the purpose of obtaining money, property, labor, or services on credit. American Express should also provide me with some sort of statutory authority.
