Consumer Complaint: I am filing a complaint due to a bait and switch ( the action ( generally illegal ) of advertising goods which are an apparent bargain, with the intention of honoring ) for the XXXX XXXX XXXX promotion by AmericanExpress that offers : Spend {$300.00} or more, get {$60.00} back. This promotion runs from XX/XX/2022, to XX/XX/2022. The terms and conditions state : spend a minimum of {$300.00} USD in one or more purchases on room rate and room chargesand receive a {$60.00} statement credit. On XX/XX/2022, purchases {$700.00} for a XXXX for room charges, but the promotional amount of {$60.00} credit has not been placed on my credit card statement. On XX/XX/2022 about XXXX XXXX XXXX time, I called American Express customer service and spoke with XXXX ( agent number XXXX ) and inquired why the promotion was not honored. I asked the American Express customer service agent to send the reason why this promotion would not be honored. XXXX made the following statements : -The charge was for lodging at XXXX and not for a Room Charge so it can not be honored. -American Express does not have a way to send the reason why this promotion will not be honored in writing to you. Consumer Complaint: Payment plan set up with consumer in XXXX. Payments automatically withdrawn from my bank account for agreed amount. Each month the company was reporting my account as delinquent on my credit report. When I asked for it to be removed they said no l, that I agreed to a payment plan but the account was delinquent still which defeats the purpose of a payment plan. When I asked for a copy of our conversation of me agreeing to a payment plan which still held my account delinquent ( which no one would agree to ) they refused to send the transcript of the recorded conversation. When asked to speak to a supervisor I was told that was not possible and thats they do not have any way to remove anything that went on a credit report. Even though I was making payments and the account was still being flagged as delinquent but they never called, emailed, sent a letter, nothing to tell me the account even with a payment is still delinquent. I dont know how and account is delinquent if a payment is being made.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX our Business American Express ( Amex ) credit card was charged {$4300.00} by XXXX. No one at our company authorized this purchase, we did not receive the goods and XXXX confirmed that this was not a legitimate charge. I initiated a dispute with Amex when we received our monthly statement around XX/XX/XXXX. At that point, they credited our card and said they would investigate. They denied this first dispute in XXXX and I filled another dispute and took the additional action to contact XXXX about the fraudulent charge. XXXX was able to provide extensive information about the charge. XXXX wrote a letter to Amex accepting the chargeback. I submitted this letter to Amex along with the additional information that XXXX provided. The information I received from XXXX was that the billing address and name on our Amex card that was given to XXXX was correct. The email and phone number that XXXX had on file were not valid. The goods would have been delivered to our office but the day it was to be delivered someone called XXXX and asked them to hold the package at their facility. The merchandise was picked up at the XXXX facility. Amex again denied the dispute even with the additional information from XXXX and the letter from XXXX accepting the chargeback. When I spoke with a customer service representative again, I discovered that I was supposed to be filling a fraud claim not disputing the charge. Nowhere on their website or in the process of filing a dispute does Amex distinguish between filing a dispute and making a fraud claim. I discovered this difference between fraud and dispute after filing 3-4 disputes. Each time I filed a dispute the customer service representative would simply agree that I should receive credit and would tell me I should receive the credit within 2-3 weeks. I dont have all of the dispute numbers from the first several disputes I filed but here are a few : Dispute number from XX/XX/XXXX - XXXX Dispute number from XX/XX/XXXX - XXXX Dispute number from XX/XX/XXXX XXXX In XXXX or XXXX of XXXX, through talking to an Amex customer service rep I discovered that we had a business account manager that could advocate for us. I got this business account manager involved. He attempted to help me with this claim over the course of the next several months. In XXXX of XXXX, we escalated the issue with this Amex account manager and he had me reopen claim number XXXX. I reopened the case and received a new reference number of XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. When I reopened the case, I followed the direction of our account manager and clearly stated to the customer service representative that we were 1. ) Contesting the decision 2. ) We did not receive the goods 3. ) No one at our company authorized the purchase. XXXX. ) XXXX confirmed that this was not a legitimate charge. This claim from XX/XX/XXXX, was also denied by Amex. Our Amex account manager told me he would continue to work on this. After trying to get in touch with him for several months I found out that Amex laid off all of that level of account manager and our only option was to go back to the general customer service help desk. I have never received any reason or details as to why this fraud claim was denied. I do not know what they are basing their decision on. I have tried to go through the proper channels at American Express without any results. I have a letter from the vendor accepting the chargeback and American Express has not given any reason why they would not perform the chargeback. I dont see any reason why American Express expects us to pay for this fraudulent charge when XXXX has accepted responsibility.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, American Express National Bank ( AENB ) stated in writing the interest rate 0.5 % for Savings. I opened a Savings Acct. on XX/XX/XXXX : IRA # XXXX Issue 1 : I sent Checks to AENB on XX/XX/XXXX & XX/XX/XXXX. AENB record show deposit of checks on XX/XX/XXXX [ 11-days late ]. At interest rate of 0.4 %, not 0.5 % as promised. When I Q -- why? AENB didn't have an answer. Issue 2 : On XX/XX/XXXX, AENB withdrew {$25000.00}. from my Savings. . I didn't receive those funds -- so, AENB put those funds back into my Savings 6-months & 10-days later ( as miscellenious deposit ), and didn't add interest. . So, on XXXX, I sent a Fax asking AENB 4-simple Qs, and I didn't get any answer :. Q : Why did AENB made this as a 'miscellaneous deposit ', never paid to anyone? . Q : Did AENB report the transaction to IRA -- if it did, please fix it to avoid a problem? . Q : Advise whether AENB is willing to add interest for 6-months & 10-days? . Q : On XX/XX/XXXX, AENB shows interest payment of {$810.00} -- please advise where I can verify if this amount is accurate Or provide me a statement of 'monthly account balance, interest rate, interest paid, and the total balance ( for me to verify ). I did advise AENB, if it won't resolve this, I may have to report to Feds.XXXX .

Consumer Complaint: I am XXXX XXXX military, within a provisional state. My spouse has the account, I'm an additional user however they are not willing to give us the SCRA benefits. They're only offering the MLA, I do not want the Military Lending Act. Since I am eligible for SCRA. With my tax state being Ohio, I am a provisional state which I qualify for. Attached is my LES that show Ohio as my tax state, and my XXXX XXXX orders that show XXXX XXXX is my spouse. 4.2 Individuals Covered by the SCRA Members of the XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX SCRA protections extend to servicemembers dependents, which generally include spouses, children, or any other individuals for whom the servicemember provided more than one-half of the individuals support for 180 days immediately preceding application for relief under the Act. ( including reserves ordered to XXXX XXXX ). Ohio extends SCRA benefits for debt incurred WHILE XXXX XXXX. This means that any debt incurred after enlistment is subject to the 6 % interest cap. Below is the reference : 7.1. Interest Rate Cap To help ease financial burdens created by active military service, Section 527 of the SCRA extends the 6 % interest cap on all debts, not just those incurred prior to XXXX XXXX. including debts, not just those incurred prior to XXXX XXXX. A creditor must forgive not defer interest greater than six percent per year. See 50 U.S.C. 3937 ( a ) ( 2 ). The creditor must forgive this interest retroactively. See id. at 3937 ( a ) ( 1 ) & ( b ) ( 2 ). The creditor is also prohibited from accelerating the payment of principal in response to a properly made request for a six percent interest rate cap. The representative asked me on the telephone, " Which of the four accounts would you like to close? '' I said what all I know about is the two accounts. He said you have a buisness account under XXXX under XXXX XXXX & XXXX XXXX, you have a hilton honors card under XXXX XXXX and the XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX card. I told american express that that is my Dad opening up accounts in my name. The representative states that both the Hilton honors and buisness card were opened in XX/XX/2022 and XX/XX/2022 and that there was a balance of {$5000.00} on the business account and {$3000.00} to the hilton honors account. I told american express to cancel my account and they transferred to fraudulent department and an investigation was started. They said id receive something in the mail in 2-4 weeks. I then pulled my credit report from XXXX and saw a XXXX XXXX XXXX card opened in XX/XX/2022 which I did not open. I called XXXX XXXX XXXX and asked what account was opened and they said there is an account open in your name XXXX XXXX but the number, email and address were all my dads information. I was transferred to fraudulent department and they closed the account. The total amount for XXXX XXXX XXXX was {$3800.00}.

Consumer Complaint: Recurring charges on my American Express credit Card. Called A.E. my cards was being charged by XXXX for computer security that I never had knowledge of. I requested to cancel my card. A.E associate asked me not to cancel but he would report it stolen. He assured me this would never happen again if I received another card with a different card account number. Well, a few months later another charge form XXXX ( Computer Security ) I never had no knowledge of on my account. When I called A.E. again they told me they do it as a courtesy! Come to find out this has been the third year for this charge. I have never purchased XXXX or XXXX in my life. Pay all my purchases except the XXXX Charge and closed my Account! They got me for over {$400.00}. I told them NO more after the first call!! And they did it AGAIN after I said NO!!!! American Express reported me to the Credit Bureau. I had an American Express XXXX Card close to 40 years.

Consumer Complaint: Hello. A couple of months ago I set up an American Express card account. When I got the card, I immediately set it up for monthly auto-pay of the entire statement amount from my checking account. The first month the auto-pay did not work properly, and the payment was not processed. This became apparent to me when the card was turned off for non-payment of the invoice. When I called AmEx, they recognized and admitted that the auto-pay was turned on and set properly by me, but the automatic payment processing did not happen on their end. So the agent refunded the late fee. But they still charged me {$110.00} in interest and refused to refund the interest charge even though they admitted the mistake was theirs and not mine for the lack of payment of the statement. Then, the statement this month included more interest in the amount of {$210.00}. The account is still set up on auto-pay and it was auto-paid on time this month. But AmEx calls this " trailing interest '' and also refuses to refund this amount. So they have fraudulently charged me {$320.00} in interest through no fault of my own but because of their system error. They are continuing to charge interest and it is impossible to get anyone on the phone that has responsibility for this ongoing fraud. This must be stopped and the only way I can see is to ask the CFPB to help me!
