Consumer Complaint: There was unauthorized transaction in my account for {$2000.00} via Amex Send. I have never used this feature and immediately reported to American Express fraud department the same day I noticed the transaction. They were able to refund some of the charges except the {$1300.00}. I reached back to their fraud department numerous times but my call kept getting dropped after they put me on hold. They keep telling me that I am liable for the remaining charges although I was not the one who made the transaction. Could you please help me with this matter? They just charged me late fees for not paying this charges. I have no other transaction in the card except this fraudulent ones.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I called American Express to cancel a flight I had booked through their travel website. The flight cost {$7300.00} for XXXX travelers. This flight was cancelled because both of the passengers contracted XXXX and got positive tests the day before the flight ( the XXXX of XXXX ). I purchased the " Gold travel protector '' through Amex that was XXXX to protect this flight in the event that this would happen. This protection would cover me in any circumstance, especially with a XXXX XXXXXXXX test. On XX/XX/XXXX Amex customer service on the phone let me know that the flight was successfully cancelled and that I would be refunded to my original payment method. However, I received an email right after this phone call that said " Your flight is cancelled and you will receive flight credit ''. This is NOT what I wanted and not what we agreed to on the phone. I called back crying hysterically and talked to another customer service agent that told me " this is how it processes, we have to refund to credit with the airline first then the airline will refund to Amex and then we will refund you '' ... something along these lines. I know 100 % certainty that these calls were recorded and you will hear the agents saying both of these things to me. They said it might take up to 30 days to post. So I decided to wait and see what would happen. XXXX months later, I still hadnt received any refund from this. So, I called the fraud department to have them inquire and reverse the charge manually. Everything was fine until just last week I received a statement from Amex saying I owed them for the flights. And now I somehow owe them the money I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE REFUNDED! On the attached statements you will see in XXXX that I purchased the tickets on XX/XX/XXXX. You will see that I purchased the Amex XXXX travel on XX/XX/XXXX for {$420.00}. This was to protect the flight in the event that anything would happen. I have the platinum american express.
