Consumer Complaint: I have been charged {$160.00} for an item that was refunded. AMEX Reward points were originally charged along with my AMEX card ( appears to be a double charge ). Then when I informed AMEX Rewards that the order for the item was cancelled and thus I should have gotten the points back ( 1/2 the problem ), AMEX charged me again for the same item. Just when I thought that I had an adjusted amount to pay them, they XXXX my account up again. They are still showing that I owe them {$490.00} which includes a double charge of {$160.00}. Thus I believe that I owe them $ XXXX ( XXXX ) {$160.00} charges equal to {$160.00}. They are taking their time resolving this I believe so that they can then charge me interest. I always pay on time. This needs to be resolved immediately.

Consumer Complaint: I did not receive the " {$0.00} Plan It fee '' offer that was advertised on my American Express Platinum Card, despite having complied with all terms. The " Plan It '' program allows cardmembers to split up their balance into monthly payments over the course of 24 months each with a fixed fee instead of the monthly interest charge that credit card issuers traditionally charge. On my particular account I was offered a promotion that states " your monthly fee for any new plans created from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX MST ( the 'promotion period ' ) will be {$0.00} for the duration of that plan. '' In other words, an offer for XXXX XXXX interest for 24 months ( i.e. the plan duration ) on any charges made during that period of time and enrolled into the Plan It program. I have been offered similar promotions on my other American Express cards in the past, and have successfully taken advantage of them without issue. On or about XX/XX/XXXX, I charged {$16000.00} on my American Express Platinum card and chose to use this card SOLELY because of the availability of the Plan It promotion. But for the offer of 24 months with a {$0.00} Plan It fee, I would not have made the charge on this card. Yet now that the transaction has posted, I am unable to create the plan and split the charge up into 24 monthly payments with a {$0.00} Plan It fee as was advertised. When I contacted American Express by phone on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with a representative named XXXX XXXX, I was told that this is because the charge exceeds my " Plan It limit. '' Yet the " Promotion Terms & Conditions '' does not disclose any such Plan It limit, nor even suggest that one applies. To the contrary, my card states it " has no preset spending limit '' and while American Express reserves the right to decline a charge if it exceeds a certain amount such that the spending limit is not theoretically unlimited, this charge was approved. Nor has my prior experience with the {$0.00} Plan It promotion given me any indication that this would have been an issue, as this {$16000.00} charge is LESS than the more than {$20000.00} in {$0.00} fee Plan It plans I had previously created during or about XX/XX/XXXX ( and have almost entirely paid off ) on my American Express XXXX XXXX XXXX. American Express should promptly enroll this charge into the 24 month Plan It program with the {$0.00} fee as advertised.

Consumer Complaint: American Express solicited my business, asking me to apply for a new credit card in XXXX, XXXX ; Blue Cash Preferred * from American Express. The American Express solicitation included a {$300.00} credit promotional oer if at least {$3000.00} is spent on the card in 6 months. I applied. American Express pulled a new credit report and opened a new banking account for the credit card. I spent {$3000.00} within 4 months. Called American Express support multiple times and they conrmed my eligibility for the {$300.00} statement credit. After 7 months and no {$300.00} promotional credit I called American Express again. I was assured that I had satised the terms of the promotional oer on XX/XX/XXXX, but was told the XXXX XXXX ' pulled back the {$300.00} credit because they felt I was not a new customer. American Express has stated that they made mistakes in their support and agreed that their telephone support did verify on multiple times that I had satisfied all requirements for the {$300.00} -- promotional credit and should receive the credit. WSL XX/XX/XXXX in an article titled 'Justices ( Supreme Court XXXX Weigh Limits on Corruption Cases ', relevant quote 'prosecutors used the " right-to-control '' theory of fraud, which treats depriving someone of complete and accurate information bearing on an economic decision as a type of property fraud ... right-to-control ' theory is a valid basis for liability under the federal wire-fraud statute. ' I believe that American Express deprived my of accurate information when I decided to provide my private information on their credit card application. My choice to share my personal information, was an 'economic decision ' on my part directly attributable to the {$300.00} -- credit card statement. American Express miss-used my consumer and credit information on a fraudulent promotional offer. American Express communicated the fraudulent information by phone and XXXX mail, which in my opinion also aligns with the federal wire-fraud statute. If American Express continues to refuse to provide the promotional {$300.00} credit that they used to solicit my business and personal information, I will seriously consider taking them to small claims court.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, I called American Express Customer Service at XXXX to request a reallocation of credit limit from XXXX American Express personal credit card to another. Instead of processing the request as a reallocation, the customer service representative that I spoke to first processed a credit limit decrease on the first card, then required me to submit a credit limit increase request on the second card, which I later learned is not the correct process for reallocating limit between XXXX existing cards. The credit limit decrease took effect immediately, but the credit limit increase request was denied by American Express, resulting in a decrease in my overall available credit rather than a reallocation of credit as I had requested. I later spoke with a different American Express representative who confirmed that the first representative followed the incorrect process.
