Consumer Complaint: I've noticed two unauthorized purchases at XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX, the first in the amount of {$190.00} and the second in the amount of {$10.00}. I've contacted American Express, and I've been told to contact the merchant. So I've contacted XXXX XXXX, spoke to XXXX, they have my information and said to keep contact with the bank. Since then, nothing has happened. Now instead of two unauthorized purchases, it says three on the same day. XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$140.00}. And two on XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$48.00} and {$10.00}. The last time I've contacted both companies is when I've had a three-way call with them. ( XXXX of XXXX XXXX and XXXX of American Express XXXX XXXX XXXX then says that they can't do anything without a Transaction ID.

Consumer Complaint: dear American Express I am filing this complaint with the cfpb because you guys have not taken my identity theft seriously. on XX/XX/XXXX the Permanent Fund Dividend Division of the state of Alaska lost my name my dob, social security number, my address everything that on my my birth certificate and all my bank info as well. after I submitted my application for my yearly PFD the page reloaded with someone else 's information. i contacted that person to let them know what happened and then contacted the state of Alaska to let them know what was going on with there website but because it was a weekend and a holiday there offices were closed. so i did the next best thing i called all the local news stations.so they can warn people what was going on they come to my house and did a interview with me so other Alaskans would know not to file there pfd until the state fixed there website the media was also able to get hold of the governor and he order the state to shut down the pfd website. the following Monday I contacted the three credit bureaus and put an extended fraud alert on my credit report but that haven't seem to stop the people who have stolen my identity from opening accounts in my name i have sent you copy of my police report and other documents showing i am a victim of identity theft and you guys mailed me a letter on XX/XX/XXXX saying i made payment arrangements therefore I'm accepting responsibility of this account i XXXX XXXX have never made payment arrangements with American Express so am not accepting responsibility for this fraudulent account. i do have some questions that I would like answered? I would like to know why you never contacted me after running my credit report and seeing there was a fraud alert on there? and according to my XXXX credit report the credit limit was XXXX dollars but the person who stole my identity was able to spend XXXX plus dollars how did this happen?

Consumer Complaint: Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to describe an issue that I have experienced with American Express National Bank XXXX I applied for a credit card with the company and was approved without the proper verification of my income. Due to my current unemployment status, I have been unable to make payments on the credit card and am now being sued by the company for the amount owed. I believe that he company 's oversight in properly verifying my income prior to approving my credit card application has resulted in a challenging financial predicament for me. I approached the American Express National Bank Credit Collector Customer Care representative to request a postponement of the monthly payment due to my financial hardship. However, the representative declined my request and did not seek counsel from their manager, instead insisting on the high monthly payment amount, rendering the credit card unusable for me. I even expressed interest in a Product Management role in Software Services and asked if they could refer me from American Express National Bank Credit Collector Customer Care representative however, my request was denied. Furthermore, I was distressed to learn that an Amex employee contacted my sister regarding my debt, jeopardizing my personal information and putting a strain on our relationship. This incident has caused me considerable anxiety and stress, particularly in my relationship with my sister and other family members and in my ongoing search for employment, which has proven to be a challenging and uncertain process. When I offered to pay them the amount I could afford monthly, under the condition that they do not freeze my account while I am making payments and allow me to continue using the credit card, they refused to reach a settlement and instead informed me of a lawsuit, which I discovered today. This is because my current address does not match the one listed on the card.

Consumer Complaint: The credit bureaus are in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting act 15 U.S.C by placing inaccurate information on my credit report without my authorization. The negative items placed on my credit report in error is with the original creditors American Express and XXXX. I have settled this debt with the creditors however they are still reporting it on my credit which has caused my credit to be affected drastically. Due to these items being placed on my credit report in error has caused me to be denied for other places to live. This has caused a major inconvenience. Please reference my credit report to see negative items reflected. Therefore I am requesting to file a complaint against the credit bureaus to have any/all negative, unverifiable, erroneous items affecting on my credit report and removed from my credit file which is my consumer right per the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Consumer Complaint: Hi there - I have XXXX fraudulent charges via XXXX on my AMEX gift card, which basically drained the card of the entire balance of $ XXXX. I did not lose the card, nor was it stolen. See screenshot for fraudulent charges. The numbers were hacked, perhaps from the company I first used the card at, XXXX Catalog. I contacted AMEX and they said they could do nothing due to the 120 day fraud reporting window. But honestly, had I seen these charges when they happened, I would have reported them immediately, but as mentioned, this card just stayed in my drawer, out of sight. I hope you can help. Thanks!
