Consumer Complaint: We need to know why we can not open additional accounts in American Express Online Bank. When we call, they can open an additional account for us, but they will not let us do it online even though it is an online bank. My husband and I have had a joint account with American Express Online Bank for about 5 years. We have never had any problems with their bank or any other banks. We were able to add CD accounts in the bank until XX/XX/2023. When we tried to open another savings account and CD account, we got the message " Please call us. We're sorry, we are unable to open your account online at this time. Please call XXXX to open this account. '' When we called the number, and we were offered to open an additional savings account over the phone and an account was opened immediately. Since we were told that it happened because of the system error and would be fixed soon, we expected the online account opening privilege to be reinstated. It has been three weeks and we have still not been able to open any additional CD accounts online. Neither can my husband. We keep getting the same message, " Please call us. We're sorry, we are unable to open your account online at this time. Please call XXXX to open this account. '' We have both called the phone number every time we got the message, that has been more than several times and tried all the things they suggested, such as 1 ) using different browsers, 2 ) clearing all cache and cookies, 3 ) restarting the computer, 4 ) trying at a different time/day, and 5 ) using a different computer. All the representatives we spoke to offered to open an additional account over the phone, but that is not what we wanted. We wanted to know the reason why we needed to use a phone call instead of online for the online bank. Only two of the representatives we talked to said that they would open tickets ( so tickets should be filed twice for this issue ) to report the problem to their systems because they do not see any problems in our records. However, we had heard nothing from their systems as of today, 3 weeks from the date we first encountered the problem, we still can not use online to open any additional CD.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a welcome letter for the American Express Platinum card. I applied online for the line of credit. American Express immediately denied an extension of my credit. This counts as two violations of ECOA / Regulation B, by denying me and further discouraging me from applying for an extension of my credit. Adverse action is illegal. 15 usc 1602 section F and P both state credit is my right, and I can not be denied a right. The term creditor means someone who regularly extends credit. Credit is the right granted by a natural person meaning I am the original creditor. So how can American Express deny me access to my own credit? They can not go by a credit score . The credit score is not the determining factor for credit worthiness. Its illegal to use this against the consumer because it leads to discrimination and misrepresentations.

Consumer Complaint: I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning situation involving my application for an American Express XXXX Card. Despite successfully applying for the card, I never received confirmation of approval or the actual card itself. Subsequently, unauthorized usage occurred on the card, resulting in fraudulent charges and an account that was sent to collections. Here is a concise summary of the events : Application : I applied for the American Express XXXX Card through the designated application process. While I received an acknowledgment of my application submission, I never received any further communication confirming approval or the mailing of the card. Unauthorized Usage : To my surprise, I discovered that unauthorized transactions were being made on the American Express XXXX Card, indicating that the card had been issued and was being used without my knowledge or consent. This raised serious concerns about the security of my personal information. Card Theft : It became evident that the card had been mailed out to an incorrect address. Unfortunately, the card fell into the wrong hands, and an unknown individual stole the card to initiate unauthorized transactions. Account Closure : Once I became aware of the unauthorized activity, I immediately contacted American Express to report the fraudulent charges and the unauthorized usage of the card. The account was subsequently closed to prevent any further misuse. Collections and Damage : Despite taking swift action to report the unauthorized usage and close the account, I was informed that the account had been sent to collections due to outstanding charges that had accumulated as a result of the fraudulent transactions. The total amount sent to collections is {$1400.00}. Ineffective XXXX XXXX : The card 's issuance to the wrong address, coupled with the subsequent unauthorized usage, underscores a severe breakdown in the card delivery and security processes. This situation has caused significant distress, financial burden, and damage to my credit. I am seeking your assistance in resolving this matter promptly. I believe that the circumstances surrounding the unauthorized usage of the American Express XXXX Card are a result of systemic vulnerabilities in the card issuance and delivery processes, which require a thorough investigation to prevent similar incidents from happening to other consumers. I kindly request that you investigate this matter and work with American Express to rectify the situation, including the removal of the erroneous charges from collections, restoring my credit standing, and addressing the security gaps that allowed this situation to occur. Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I turned off auto pay ... which was more than enough time for amex to know about it. I get an email today that they are pulling XXXX out and it's being processed yet I know I stopped it on XXXX. When I called amex the man said it was still active which is odd since it was turned off per the advice of an attorney XXXX. So I'm well aware of the fact I turned it off but miraculously it's back on... which I will tell the attorney about. The man said he couldn't shut it off as it's being processed ( convenient ) and I am writing to ask they shut it off immediately bc I did that on XX/XX/XXXX and the guy is trying to tell me maybe it's a " glitch ''. The bank was also contacted as to what they are doing.

Consumer Complaint: We booked a moving company " XXXX XXXX '' - prior to the move date my wife fell ill ( documented by medical visits/doctors ) We attempted to seek a resolution with this company but were instead berated, threatened and then forcibly disregarded, as the " CEO '' XXXX XXXX would not work out a resolution but instead cancelled our move, and is attempting to keep {$790.00} for services not rendered. This is simple extortion and should not be allowed. This person keeps providing false claims and excuses to my credit card company and they are rebilling my account. There are numerous low/bad reviews on XXXX, XXXX & XXXX against this company that indicate XXXX XXXX does this quite often. He should be investigated. I have been dealing with this nightmare for 2 months now and I just wish it would be resolved already.

Consumer Complaint: American Express has entered into a consumer credit transaction with me via using my social credit card defined under 15 USC1602 to extend me my o n credit on multiple accounts. In the year of XXXX American Express has committed ADVERSE ACTION and has discriminated against me and my RIGHT TO CREDIT as defined under 15 USC 1691 by shutting down my accounts and denying me a Granted Right which is access to extend credit. American Express has been in violation of the ECOA and Tittl 18 USC 242 for denying me a federally protected right to extend credit and have access to credit. American Express once aft er taking ADVERSE ACTION discriminating against has reported false statements on my consumer report hurting my reputation and hurting my credit worthiness further negatively impacting my right to extend credit in the banking system. American Express is reporting an alleged debt that arose out of a consumer credit transaction via a FINANCE CHARGE and is falsely reporting charged off accounts as Income on my reputation as defined under IRS Guidelines. TENDER of payments was attempted to be made on these accounts to satisfy the alleged debt In Good Faith but was REFUSED by American Express. Such Refusal of legal tender has now discharged the debt under UCC 3 -603 and has placed American Express under a violation of the Federal Reserve Act Sec 29. American Express has been given the opportunity to perform and provide VALIDATION of the alleged debts by providing key information that which if provided payment in FRN would have been made. American Express has FAILED to provide lawful validation of any lawful debt and has dishonored the offer and continues to furnish false statements about me on my reputation hurting my character and right to credit.

Consumer Complaint: This complaint is a follow up to complaint XXXX and XXXX. I received XXXX telephone messages from a XXXX XXXX in " Judicial Services '' to contact her regarding File XXXX, and she stated that although I had previously contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX, the matter was not resolved. She stated that they had contacted and verified my place of employment, and the Sheriff would either come to my place of employment or home. I tried returning her call at the number she left in my voicemail ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ), and the woman answered XXXX XXXX XXXX. I asked to speak with XXXX, and she stated that she had no one in her directory by that name. I asked her to check because XXXX just left a message with this number, but the woman said she had no one by that name. I asked if this was XXXX XXXX XXXX, a law firm, and she said yes. I asked for the street address so that I could send written communication, and she did not give this information. She then hung up. I called back and another woman answered and said yes, this is XXXX XXXX XXXX, the Corporate Office in XXXX, but XXXX is in Judicial Services. I asked for the street address, and she refused to give the information but insisted that they were an actual law firm. I advised her that I had filed complaints with the FTC and also checked with AMEX to see if I had an account, and AMEX advised ( as previously provided ) that the account matching the last 4 digits of my social security number in the zip code XXXX actually belongs to another individual. I asked for the name of an attorney who works with their law firm, and she stated XXXX XXXX. I asked if it is XXXX XXXX, XXXX, and she said yes, XXXX XXXX in XXXX. I found the name of an attorney XXXX XXXX, XXXX, in XXXX, GA with telephone number XXXX XXXX XXXX and fax XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX said they could not give me the address of their law firm but that it would be on the papers the Sheriff serves.

Consumer Complaint: American Express has a platinum charge card of which I've never missed a payment. Because I'm not using the charge card as they completely desired but still within the legal scope of which I'm allotted per their contractual agreement they are financially squeezing the account causing various malicious and malinformed reports for example they're making it seem like I'm using 100 % of the borrowed some but it's because every time I make a payment they lower it. They also are declining charges because of this algorithm and refused to review it or let me speak to somebody about it. I'm following their contract to the t. That's in addition to they're double dipped interest fees that no one for some reason has claimed in a class action lawsuit but that's beyond me. I have never missed the payment and have followed their instruction and their rules and regulations but they remain uncooperative.
