Consumer Complaint: the issue involved protection of a computer purchased from XXXX. i had bought a computer from XXXX a couple of years ago.when i first called and was instructed from XXXX XXXX XXXX on phone to bring cable down and they said they will check it.so i drove to them and when i went into store they said we don't do that here.so then i drove to XXXX XXXX and they checked it and said it was fine.so i called XXXX in XXXX and spoke to a person explaining i need a new computer so i brought everything to them.and said i need all documents transferred to new computer along with many disc and they said they would do that.after doing all this i was having the same problem with computer could not get on.it was the screen that they never checked.i ran back and forth to the store over 10 times spending over XXXX in gas and my time.in one of the time the guy told me it was fixed and needed to come down and put my password in.so i did and it was not fixed.i was XXXX.so i used my amx card so i would be protected and they did nothing! i sent them information in writing from store manager what they did not do to amx. i fought this for over two yrs and amx did nothing to help me with this problem.but the company XXXX refunded me XXXX for what happen this is what amx should have done.after this amx wanted full payment of the whole bill when it was always monthly payment.then one day i get a call from someone saying we want payment from a collection agency.never received a letter and i am dealing with amx i did not no if this was a scam.so i have been making payment ever since this all took place did not miss payment i have all record of payments to amx. every month.on top of everything else on the statement it says i quote { this statement is for information purposes only.this is not a bill } THATS FRAUD THEY HAVE BEEN CASHING THESE CHECKS! AND THIS I BET HAS HURT MY CREDIT SCORE.THIS IS A VERY CROOKED COMPANY

Consumer Complaint: On my AmericanExpress credit card bill due XX/XX/XXXX, is a charge for {$19.00} for prem car rental protection. Although I had rented a car using that credit card, I never signed up for their car rental protection ( I already have that protection thru my auto insurance policy ). The charge is for a service I neither authorized or knew anything about. I have spent over XXXX XXXX hours on the phone with various people from Amex as well as from Amex XXXX. I initially was told by XXXX, at XXXX, that the charge would be reversed, but that has been contradicted by others. XXXX, a supervisor, told me I signed up for this protection, by phone, in XXXX. I do not recall doing this. He also told me there is nothing he can send me to prove I signed up for this. In the intervening eight ( XXXX ) years, there has been no contact with me about this program. He refused to transfer me to a manager or have a manager call me. Amex refuses to submit this for dispute or fraud b/c it involves one of their own companies, Amex Assurance . I spoke to XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX & XX/XX/XXXX. I spoke to Amex XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. I filed a complaint with the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX office on XX/XX/XXXX. They referred it to the XXXX which I contacted today. OCC has no record of the complaint, and referred me to CFPB. I paid the charge, but I want the charge reversed.

Consumer Complaint: I received 2 American Express gift cards and attempted to use them at XXXX and XXXX American Express 's deceptive advertising materials say, " You can use your American Express eGift Card with any United States-based online, phone, or mail-order merchants wherever American Express Cards are accepted . ``. This is false and fraudulent. I attempted to use the card at the largest online retailer in the world, XXXX, who takes american express, and says that they accept amex gift cards. I attempted to use the other card at XXXX who has the same policy. XXXX researched the transaction and told me AMEX had declined the transaction. Both transactions were for less than the card balance, on cards that were active. When I contacted AMEX, I was told that they declined the transactions, as " in order to protect customers ''. This is deceitful and deceptive. Amex prevents the cards from being used places customers are likely to use them and 1. doesn't inform either buyers nor users, who don't discover until having valid purchases declined, causing material and financial harm to users. Please note that when I called AMEX to research why the card wasn't working, they left me on hold. For the DAY.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX saw charge on my XXXX card that I did not approve in XXXX I cancelled spirit membership and their credit card because of this same reason. Saw this charge on a different card XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX card ). Called spirit & spoke with XXXX at spirit. He assured me that it was only a pending charge. He saw that I cancelled previously but saw I used my XXXX at one point and the decided to charge the membership to XXXX even though it was a cancelled charge previously in XXXX. I told him this was fraudulent because I did not request nor did I approve. He said that it was pending and would fall off. That is not an appropriate answer for fraudulently charging my XXXX without my request or approval.

Consumer Complaint: My ex-husband sent me a text that he received a call from " XXXX XXXX XXXX trying to contact you in reference to your case. The phone number is XXXX. Reference XXXX. '' I have no idea who this is or what they are talking about, and I have no idea why they contacted my ex-husband. I called the number and spoke with a " XXXX '' who told me I had been approved for an American Express line of credit and could I verify the last XXXX digits of my social security number. I asked her if this was a law firm, and she said yes, that she was calling from XXXX XXXX XXXX, the XXXX XXXX, in XXXX, Georgia. I asked her to send me something in writing. She said my " file '' was locked and had a red flag, and there was a lawsuit against me in process. She said she would open the file and then said that it was going to be processed and a Sheriff come to serve a Complaint because I hadn't paid an American Express bill. I do not have an American Express card and have never applied for one. I advised her that I was filing a Complaint against them for their bogus, harassing and annoying phone calls and hung up.

I called American Express and spoke with employee " XXXX '' Employee ID XXXX who confirmed that I do not have any active accounts with American Express. She verified that the AMEX account in my zip code XXXX with the last 4 digits matching my social security number belongs to another person, and there are no accounts with AMEX under my name and complete social security number. With this minimal information, " XXXX XXXX XXXX '' assumed that the account they are trying to collect belongs to me, and it does not. Additionally, " XXXX XXXX XXXX '' did not ever nor has American Express ever sent anything in writing to validate their claim that I owe them anything.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I ordered a portable air conditioner from XXXX for {$470.00}. It was marked delivered at around XXXX on XX/XX/2023, but the picture attached to the XXXX tracking number provided was not at my house. I have cameras and no delivery driver ( or anyone for that matter ) came onto my property. I searched around my house and immediate neighbors houses just to be sure, with no luck. After reaching out to the Merchant ( XXXX ) they informed me since XXXX provided a proof of delivery ( even with it being at the incorrect house ) they would not be able to help me with a refund and I should dispute this charge with my credit card company, American Express. I put in the dispute ( Ref. NoXXXX ) the next day, providing a detailed written explanation as to why this charge was being disputed, along with photos of my house both in person and on XXXX XXXX to corroborate the fact that it was NOT delivered to my house, the house in the photo XXXX provided does NOT match. I expected a prompt and easy resolution, what I have recieved couldn't be further from that. The dispute has been continuously closed in XXXX favor over and over, NONE of the agents will look at the proof I have provided to them. They are taking the " proof of delivery '' from XXXX, provided by XXXX, and claiming that since XXXX says the item is delivered I am not entitled to a refund. This is not what the dispute process is for/about. I have already reached out to the merchant myself, and was unable to reach a resolution. The product was never recieved, THUS the dispute. It is supposed to be their job to investigate this incident, and instead of doing any investigation of the proof ALREADY PROVIDED they just keep continuing to reach out to XXXX and ask them if I deserve a refund. This is absolutely frivolous. Of course, the merchant is not going to say I should be refunded when I have already reached out and asked for a refund that they denied. The whole point is for an investigation to take place, to look at the evidence available. I have provided evidence while XXXX has nothing but a page saying " yes it was delivered to this address '' I am absolutely shocked at this process and the outcome. I will continue to dispute the charge with Amex as long as I have to, I will NOT be paying almost XXXX dollars for an item I never recieved. I will include the pictures mentioned previously ( of my house and the XXXX delivery photo to the INCORRECT house ) with this complaint. These photos have already been submitted to Amex and they do not review them.

Consumer Complaint: I have a virtual AMEX gift card that I am unable to use on line or in store. I was given the card with a {$350.00} value. I used it to make a couple of on line purchases at XXXX and in store at XXXX XXXX XXXX. That left the current balance of {$130.00}. I have since tried numerous times to use the card on line at XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX. I called American Express several times and was told that the merchants may have security in place where they do not accept " anonymous '' user cards and to use in store instead. I have tried to use in store at XXXX XXXX XXXX ( this time didn't work ), XXXXXXXX XXXX and XXXX. All instances the card was declined despite having a balance. I keep calling American Express and they tell me that my balance is there, restrictions are lifted ( why where they there in the first place? For my protection I was told. But I never reported losing the card. I am simply trying to use it! ) So back to the stores and same problem. When I call I am being told to try other merchants. I don't think this is fair. You should be able to use the card anywhere they have a card reader ( XXXX XXXX ). Any help would be appreciated.
