Consumer Complaint: I have come to the point where I have exhausted all other options of why American Express has not wanted to honor it's commitment to taking care of military soldiers. One of your campaign themes is honoring and supporting the military but when it comes to reducing the interest rates on your loans, you look the other way. This has at least been gross misrepresentation and neglect not to mention it is against the law. Not only have you done this over the last few years on my accounts but my wife 's as well who is a military spouse ( same household ). I have included some members of congress in the hope that they will ensure that American Express commits to actions versus just words. Included are my orders dating back to XXXX in which case American Express has given very weak answers as to why you can't reduce your interest rates to at least the required 6 % while a servicemember is on XXXX XXXX. I do recall many years ago, XXXX XXXX XXXX did this same thing and paid a heavy penalty in front of Congress and since they have gone above and beyond to take care of military personnel and I think now is the time for American Express to do the same. Listed on the last Fax Coversheet are all of my accounts with American Express as well as my wife 's in the hope that you will once and for all correct your gross mistakes. Consumer Complaint: At about XXXX XXXX tonight, I used my card to make my VA XXXX XXXX bill after calling to see what my available credit was in the automated system. I also made a {$51.00} payment which was not due until XX/XX/XXXX I entered the card information correctly two times and it denied me using the card to pay online. I called AMEX again to find out if they locked my card. That is when just 30 minutes later they reduced my available credit to {$1000.00}. This should be illegal and that is the only reason I am complaining tonight.

They are now reporting all my payments late when Im currently enrolled into their relief program due to a death and job lost they have harassed me and has been causing a huge amount of stress in my life. They harassed me when I told them I was out of work and was dealing with a death these people are evil and are going against the law. My payments are in AUTOPAY. Consumer Complaint: I called the American Express Prepaid Gift Card Customer Support three times with zero help at any of the times. First call was at XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, second call was at XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, and the third call was at XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. I recently just purchase this American Express Gift Card with {$140.00} added to the balance at XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX. I tried making online purchases from multiple online stores as well as in-person and it has been declined every time. I'm not even able to check my balance on their website as it doesn't even work. When I call their customer support line, they asked me to enter my 15-digit card number and they claim it's invalid even though it has already been activated by the cashier at my local XXXX. I can not believe I wasted {$140.00} on this prepaid card and I'm not even able to use the money I put inside. Can't get help from customer support because my number is " invalid '' therefore completely useless.

I was going to pay for the card and load money with my debit card but I was told I would have to pay with cash. I had to go to a ATM to pull them {$500.00} out and load it to the card. Once I purchased the card and loaded it with XXXX. I went to register the card and it didn't work. As I write this on XX/XX/XXXX, I've called and wrote letters. I still haven't heard from Serve on this issue. I have a card with {$500.00} that can't even be activate and says I have the wrong card information. I need help asap.

Consumer Complaint: Hi, I want to file a complaint against American Express about their misleading e-mail notification and misleading customer service response. It might be helpful to other customers who experience similar situations to consider applying an American Express Credit card. On XXXX XXXX I opened a XXXX XXXX Credit card which is the second credit card under my online account with American Express. The first credit card is XXXX XXXX XXXX. However, I was not aware that the auto payment was not set up in my new account and I never acknowledged that this account payment was overdue. There was never a mail or phone call to make me aware that my account was overdue, although they do have a lot of e-mails spamming my e-mail address with promotional offers. On XX/XX/XXXX, I found an e-mail saying my account was overdue but after I clicked on the email multiple times, it always redirected me to my old account which has XXXX in the overall balance. I thought it was a technical error but I proactively talked with an online agent, but the online agent cut off the connection and left me with no responses. On XX/XX/XXXX, I talked to customer service again and I realized the overdue happened on my new XXXX XXXX Credit card. The agent said, " Shall I process the payment for you and notate your account right away? '' and I responded, " I can set up auto payment on that ''. The agent then said, " Post that you will be all set. XXXX is indeed the best solution. '' On XX/XX/XXXX, I found the payment had not gone through with auto pay and I manually made the payment of {$1000.00} to avoid more troubles. Around XX/XX/XXXX, I was concerned about my credit score and I made a call to the American Express Credit Bureau department. The agent told me, that all penalties were waived already and the late mark would be removed from my credit report, and they asked me to check on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I found a late mark on my credit report and I made a call to the American Express Credit Bureau department again, but then I was told nothing they can do on their end.
