Consumer Complaint: Recently I found a {$50.00} American Express XXXX XXXX that I had received a few years ago as a bonus from my employer. The original card had been sitting in a drawer, unused, and the date had expired. I contacted Amex and they mailed me a replacement card with a valid date. I have confirmed ( multiple times ) with Amex that the card is valid and that there is a {$50.00} balance on it. Despite repeated attempts, the Amex gift card will not be accepted at any online merchant I've tried : XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, etc. The transaction is denied every time I attempt to make a purchase. I've attached a scanned image of the card and the letter that I was sent.

I'm writing because I noticed that my most recent credit report contains a series of late payments that's reported in XXXX for my old American Express account. I want you to know I completely understand my responsibility to make payments on time and pay off outstanding balances. My account was closed completely by the end of XXXX. If you look into my log in activity besides my most recent logins from this year, that last official login was XXXX of XXXX had a remaining balance of {$11.00} that I was never notified on. No mail was sent to me or any phone calls. I paid the balance on XX/XX/XXXX. I now have multiple negative marks for late payments on my credit report. If it wasn't for me never being notified for my balance I assure you I would have paid off the {$11.00} a long time ago.

Consumer Complaint: I requested a credit limit increase and was denied because of information from outside sources. When I asked what those were, I was told these things are not disclosed to members. I also address on a recorded call all concerns successfully. Ive never been late nor missed a payment. I am being refused. CREDIT for No reason that was disclosed to me that I couldnt address. I was also told that it was because I was checking rates for loans and credit cards. outside of American Express how could I be denied Credit because I was checking for an opportunity to improve the health of my credit?

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX i, the consumer, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX applied for an American Express credit card on XX/XX/XXXX, and was denied. Regardless of the reason given for being denied, as a consumer, i have the right to my own credit without hesitation or limitation. Denying my consumer access to their credit is not only discrimination, but also appears to be a securities scheme and artifice, false advertising, false and deceptive trade practices, sabotage, a mockery of honest services, and several ethics violations. American Express is registered with the Secretary of State, thus is subject to adhering to Corporate Governance Laws and Regulations, Federal Rules and Civil Procedures, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Internal Revenue Service, all applicable United States Codes and Statues at Large of the United States Corporation 28 USC 3002 ( 15 ). The United States Corporation underwent bankruptcy ( 3rd ) in XXXX and decided to pledge/mortgage all the property and future labor of the people in order to participate in international trade and commerce .
