Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I contacted both the creditor and the credit bureaus about inaccurate information that was on my credit account. I should proof of the matter and they still are saying the accounts was verified. I asked for proof ( all paper work/info ) to be sent to me about how they verified the accounts. They still have not sent me any proof to back up their decision. I contacted them three plus times and still nothing.

Consumer Complaint: I called FedLoan Servicing on XX/XX/2022 to request a refund on the payments made during the payment pause. My loans were fully paid during this time. I was told that they are not recommending me to request a refund ( although I am eligible to do so ). The agent also told me it would take 200 days to process the refund and have a balance reflected on my account. I was told I would need to begin payments in XXXX although I am eligible for forgiveness. This will impact me financially as I would like to submit the student loan forgiveness application prior to XX/XX/2022 in order to receive forgiveness prior to payments resuming. I have received no update to the account and am concerned with the large processing time on this. According to the information the agent told me, it would take 6 months for this to reflect back on my account and I would not be able to receive forgiveness on all of those payments.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, my name is XXXX XXXX, and I'm writing to request your help in contacting this company. I attempted to contact them in order to see why someone had created an account in my name. This is a serious matter, and I'm disappointed that it's now having an effect on my credit score. I do not give anyone permission to use my name, date of birth, or any other personal information since it violates Data Privacy. They must determine who started the account in my name and simply transfer the information to that person. Kindly help me in fixing this issue.

Consumer Complaint: I received a federal student loan. It was in deferment for Covid... I though it was still in deferment and got a call from a debt collector saying my loan in in default and sold to collection agency. Loan servicer is trying to tell me that it was a private loan. I never signed any documents to change or consolidate any of my student loans. My other student loans are through XXXX and doing just fine, all {$45000.00} of them. The agency telling me that they were private loans is AES ( aessuccess.org ). Aes said they will send me original documentation on original loans dispersed in 2007. I will follow up once these documents are received. I have never had any trouble with placing these loans on deferment. They have been placed on disaster area deferment before as well, when we lived in XXXX during Hurricane Harvey.

Consumer Complaint: MyFed Loan was transferred on XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX in the amount of {$8000.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX I paid XXXX {$4000.00} and the remaining balance of {$4000.00} on XXXX. To date the {$8000.00} is still reflected on my credit report as being owed to FedLoan. I spoke to MyFed Loan several times with the latest being on XX/XX/XXXX and was advised that once XXXX reports that the balance will fall off my report. However, I last spoke to XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and was advised that them reporting would have no impact on the Fed Loan balance. I have also disputed this balance 3 times as wrote to FedLoan and every time they send back that the balance is correct with documentation that shows that I owe {$0.00} on my prior loans with them. The credit bureaus stated there is nothing they can do because the investigation and findings are from the company I am disputing and that the company does not have to show proof to the credit Bureau. I am stuck between these companies and need help resolving.
