Consumer Complaint: My loan servicer was Fedloan Servicing. I had Fedloan Servcing set up as the bill payee for my student loan through my bank pre pandemic. I stopped paying my loan during pandemic and didn't update my bill payee to XXXX, which became my new loan servicer after Fedloan Servicing shutdown. I made a {$200.00} payment to Fedloan Servicing on XX/XX/XXXX in error. The {$200.00} was somehow accepted even though Fedloan Servicing no longer exists. I've contacted XXXX and my bank, neither can do anything to get my money refunded. I'm not sure what to do as Fedloan Servicing customer service no longer exists.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: I have contacted this loan company American education services several times about lowering my monthly payment and interest rate. this company states there are only 3 repayment options able to use in the life of the loan and that I have use all of them. I think it is unfair to have only 3 lowering payment options in the life of a loan of this size. I have already exceeded paying the amount the loan was initially taken out for which was {$33000.00} on XX/XX/2007. As of today, the amount paid on my loan is XXXX. Total interest satisfied has been XXXX. Total principal satisfied {$9700.00}. This company is saying that I still owe {$38000.00}. I am a XXXX XXXX and have worked through covid to pay this loan with no relief or help from this company in lowering my new monthly payment of {$640.00} and new interest rate of 12 %.

Consumer Complaint: I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning issue I have encountered in regards to the PHEAA XXXX XXXX XXXX. The purpose of this letter is to request an investigation into their fraudulent reporting practices and their addition of interest to a loan that has been canceled. I am a victim of this fraudulent reporting, as PHEAA has reported a loan on my consumer report that has been canceled. Furthermore, they have sent me a 1099B form acknowledging the cancellation and categorizing it as income, as per IRS guidelines. Despite this, they continue to report the loan on my consumer report, which is misleading and inaccurate. To provide a clear picture of the situation, I would like to outline the key points : XXXX. Loan Cancellation and 1099B : - The loan, which has been canceled, was acknowledged by PHEAA through the issuance of a 1099B form. - The cancellation of the loan makes it income, as stated by IRS guidelines. - I have attached a copy of the 1099B form for your reference. 2. Fraudulent Reporting : - PHEAA XXXX XXXX XXXX continues to report the canceled loan on my consumer report. - This inaccurate reporting adversely affects my credit history and financial standing. - The reporting of the loan, along with the addition of interest, is misleading and deceitful. Enclosed with this letter, you will find a copy of the 1099B form for your review. I kindly request that you commence an investigation into the fraudulent reporting practices of PHEAA XXXX XXXX XXXX. Your intervention and resolution in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Subissue: Bankruptcy
Consumer Complaint: We filed for bankruptcy with about XXXX in student debt in my name. Despite payments being built into the bankruptcy plan and the fact that we fulfilled all of our payments my student loans increased by over XXXX to XXXX owed. I don't understand how this is fair at all. The reason we were in bankruptcy was to afford to pay off our debt. We paid about XXXX in total debt off during the course of the 5 year bankruptcy payment plan but then I got stuck with the same amount anyway. That can not be fair, can it?

Consumer Complaint: AES sold my private student loan to another company XXXX XXXX without telling me. Then this guy throws it in my face about a purchase for a vehicle and I should be able to pay for the 40 % increase in funds needed to satisfy my loan. I never knew he made the inquiry nor the increase in monthly until I paid my old amount and that was not enough and considered a late payment with fees on top of the already increased monthly total. I paid this loan for 3 years and had paid more than 20 % ahead of time and then AES sells it to another company who increases everything. This was plain and simple extortion. It was completely hidden from me and then this man was threatening me via text and on the phone describing my purchases. I make a purchase that is my buisness and obviously I was able to make it. You should not be able to base my loan amounts monthly payments on what purchases I make. They are doing reverse income payment on me. I made all my payments for 3+ years and paid down almost 10 years on the loan so AES sold my loan to a shady company that more than doubled my loan by increasing interest more than 10 % and my monthly amount by 35 %. NEVER DO BUISNESS WITH AES there are other ways.. They are an extortion company with illegal practices.
