Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Problem with customer service

Consumer Complaint: There's been multiple issues regarding my student loans. Overall student loan debt and amount stated to be owed to AES is incorrect. After numerous requests were made and documentation was repeatedly submitted to AES. It is an issue I have been trying to resolve with AES since 2007. After finding out AES obtained my student loans, and they were assigned to them as my servicer ; AES was repeatedly informed numerous times there were serious issues prior to student loans being transferred to them via XXXX. AES was informed while I was discussing all of these issues with Xpress, I found XXXX immediately and abruptly transferred student loans to AES. I did not know who the servicer was? XXXX explained wait for the servicer to reach out to me and give transfer of loans time to process. There was nothing they could do because the loans were transferred from XXXX to AES already. The same and following information was then provided to AES when I found out my loans were transferred to them. Student Loans that were transferred to them were previously cancelled and funds were returned back to XXXX XXXX. Funds that were returned and deposited to XXXX XXXX XXXX checking accounts also belonged to XXXX XXXX. I also submitted actual loan applications that were altered with amounts that were changed with consolidation. Both XXXX XXXX and US Dept. of Education confirmed accuracies of student loans amount in detailed letter upon my further request for investigation. This documentation is attached. This verification was also provided to both AES and PHEAA guarantor countless times. Request for promissory notes that returned they were lost also attached. Both AES and PHEAA ignored all of my complaints, concerns, this documentation and repeated calls, faxes and documentation even mailed, documentation was also sent I uploaded to AES via email to them through my AES online account regarding problems with initial consolidation, cancelled loans and funds returned back to XXXX XXXX. All the issues surrounding my student loans were repeatedly explained over and over again since XXXX. Still no response, follow up nor communication regarding factual information that was sent to both AES and PHEAA. How is AES allowed to uphold inaccurate amounts, ignore official documentation repeatedly submitted to them proving inaccuracies, uphold fraudulent amounts on altered documentation.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Received bad information about your loan

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, my loan was in forbearance. When filing my XXXX taxes, IRS took them for loan repayment. When contacted they said I had missed payments. They sold my loan to someone else. Contacted the new company and was out on an idr plan, I had an income of XXXX and still managed to pay the idr they wanted. COVID hit, told to stop paying. Claimed no payments made. Interest went through the roof. Credit score tanked, wrong payments were documented, wrong loan amounts, wrong missed payments, tried to rectify only to have the 1st company remain claiming 365 missed payments on credit report, 2nd company sold loan to my new company and took the good payment history with them, making my already low credit score tank again by XXXX pts along with the only length of time in credit I had due to this mess. I can't get loans, can't rent an apartment, can't get a car, have been turned down for employment and various other disturbing life needed situations. XXXX forbearance just disappeared tuned into late payments. Loans were sold to the 2nd company XXXX 2nd loan company never used the idr money sent towards any of the loans Wrongfully reported missed payments to credit bureau during COVID , accrued approx {$10000.00} in interest during COVID, did not report any payments made throughout XXXX. Sold loan to 3rd company after loan had been in good standing for 7 months. XXXX loan taken over by new company. Forbearance letter has been received. Fought with the credit bureau for years about this, sent letters to credit bureau and loan providers with no major change in reporting.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan

Subissue: Problem with forgiveness, cancellation, or discharge

Consumer Complaint: I am a borrower impacted by the Joint Consolidation Loan Separation Act. I have completed a XXXX reconsideration request ( including my employer certification ) and have been assigned a case number. As I believe I will now qualify for XXXX, I sought forbearance with my loan servicer, AES. This was granted through XX/XX/2024 ; however, interest continues to accrue monthly. When I asked for interest-free, I was denied. This is presenting undue hardship and financial risk to my family.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Need information about your loan balance or loan terms

Consumer Complaint: I called into the agency and received incorrect information in regards to the dates the payments were received. In addition, the agency also reported and verified incorrect information was factual. They reported a payment was made XX/XX/2023. It was made XX/XX/2023.. They reported the date of the last payment on the account was XX/XX/2023. There were payments made on the account electronically that posted XX/XX/2023, XX/XX/2023 and XX/XX/2023 electronically and were posted to the account. AES reported to the credit bureau that the last payment received was XX/XX/2023 on XX/XX/2023 in response to the dispute I submitted to the credit reporting agency. As of XX/XX/2023 the account was not past due {$290.00} as of XX/XX/2023 which was confirmed by AES on on XX/XX/2023 verbally. In addition the attached payment history which was screenshot from my AES account show the payments were received and posted to the account. I requested information on the total loan payments I made over the life of the loan. I was told they could only provide me information on the total payments to AES. I think also I informed them that I was placed on a forbearance while I was making payments. I requested a copy of the MPN with terms of agreement so that I could see the what the total number of payments I was required to make. I was only sent the signature page of the MPN without the terms of the payment agreement. Without the total of payments made and the total payments required over the life of the loan then I am not able to make an informed decisions about President Biden 's new Student loan repayment plan SAVE.
