This is a horrible company that says they love and honor veterans, however only the ones who have no financial issues. They harass and dont care about those of us on hard times, and many will soon know.

Consumer Complaint: USAA forces consumers into their Pay-Ahead Program at the sole discretion of USAA. When I paid more than the minimum due USAA applied the overpayment to future minimum payments due, thus giving me a balance of {$0.00} on statements. No where on the statement does it indicate that the Pay-Ahead Program is applied or not. I called USAA to opt-out of the program and the representative said they weren't able to do so. I also tried to set-up automatic payments for the minimum due and was told that was also unavailable. The result is that if you overpay the minimum due then you will receive {$0.00} due statements for months which led me to believe it was part of the promotional program where 0 % APR until XX/XX/2021. I was enticed to believe my payments were {$0.00}. Furthermore, the overpayment wasn't applied to principal with an interest charge. I was not told I was in the Pay Ahead Program, I did not ask for it, and when I called the number to opt-out they couldn't do it. Below is language from the USAA agreement. Pay-Ahead Program : The Minimum Payment as calculated above is your Regular Minimum Payment. If your Account is eligible for our Pay-Ahead Program and is in good standing, when you pay more than the Regular Minimum Payment, we may, at our option, permit you to skip some or all of your next two Regular Minimum Payments. When this occurs, we continue to calculate your Regular Minimum Payment, however the amount of the minimum payment due displayed on the first page of your bill, on usaa.com, and on our phone systems is reduced by the amount you may skip. The full Regular Minimum Payment amount is always shown in the Important Account Information section of your bill. On XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX we received a phone call from XXXX XXXX at USAA stating that she forgot to submit the closing disclosure form and that we were not able to close until Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX. This not only displaced us but also held up the closing of three other homes as the sellers of our new home needed the funds from the sale to buy their new home. The communication with USAA was deplorable. I had to call USAA Friday morning spent hours on the phone and was told at XXXX that the CD still had not been submitted. Our closing was ultimately delayed due to what USAA called a human error.
