Consumer Complaint: My son was in an XXXX accident in GA with my car, both were insured by XXXX XXXX Both cars were total losses, and mercifully there were no reported injuries. My son 's passenger worked for XXXX at the time, and my son offered to our insurance adjustor that he had volunteered to bring her to a grocery store. XXXX XXXX denied our claim, stating that my policy did not provide such coverage, and their payout was zero. We had to incur stiff towing and storage fees, that were also not covered, we also have not been able to replace our car. USAA, the other driver 's insurance company, has hired XXXX XXXX to collect $ XXXX in subrogation costs that they paid out to her for her vehicle loss. Because XXXX XXXX denied our claim, we are being harassed by XXXX XXXX who is claiming to be a law firm, and is in fact a debt collection agency. They have called us no less than 9 times, emailed us, and sent 2 sets of demanding letters in 3 weeks. They have threatened to have our licenses suspended by the state of South Carolina if this debt is not paid in a timely manner. Never did they mention, or does it state on their demand letters, that this claim could be disputed. With each call they ask if we are able to pay this large sum. Although it is a hardship, we have spoken with a lawyer in order to dispute and potentially have this claim dismissed. We are not seeking litigation, and we do feel we are not being treated fairly or decently by XXXX XXXX. This has also negatively impacted my son 's condition of XXXX XXXX for which he is being treated. Our stress level is quite high at the prospect of a possible judgement against us, and having our licenses suspended. We do not have the funds to pay this debt that we feel is not ours, and really do not have extra revenue for retaining legal counsel at this time. Consumer Complaint: During the course of a seven year period starting in 2012 USAA Federal Savings Bank portrayed a simple interest bearing deposit account of approx. $ XXXX as an investment account. This was years before XXXX XXXX merged with USAA. The reason I am reporting this egregious violation is 2-fold. Each time I made a withdrawal from the account USAA would apply a 10 % penalty in addition to the withdrawal. These funds were accumulated with taxed dollars. As if the 10 % penalty wasn't bad enough, USAA would issue a 1099 that captured the specific amount of the withdrawal with the footnote of reporting the transaction to the IRS. As I mentioned, these funds were accumulated with taxed dollars and the 1099 was intended to raise my tax bracket with taxed dollars from a simple interest bearing deposit account being pertrayed as an investment account. This act went on for seven years. I have the 1099s along with account statements and I'm sure USAA does as well.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, I was a victim of fraud. A check was deposited into my USAA bank checking account that was under the name of " XXXX XXXX '' that I did not authorize. I worked extensively with USAA bank to resolve this issue and stressed that I was a victim of fraud. I was informed via postal mail that USAA due to difficulty in their banking relationship with me will no longer be able to provide services to me. I spoke to a representative today XX/XX/XXXX in the banking department by the name of XXXX who stated that the letter sent to me via postal mail on XX/XX/XXXX is not something that can be reversed once the bank sends out the letter. As a victim of fraud, I am being penalized by USAA for not being able to open an account or even have auto insurance even though I am a " member '' but not member enough to be able to have services. I am ostracized by an organization that is meant to help veteran families and for an episode that was not my fault. I have never had any issues with USAA regarding auto insurance or banking issues. I was banking with them previously from XXXX until XXXX and they left me as a XXXX mother without insurance due to me being a victim of fraud.

Consumer Complaint: I first recognized a problem trying to use my debit card on XX/XX/2022, when the card was rejected for payment. Shortly thereafter on the XXXX, I called my bank asking why the debit card was rejected, & their answer was that that they were no longer accepting checking accounts under a Trust Account & that I had not sent paper work back to them on a given date which had expired.. They closed my checking account & would not allow any trans-actions other than credits into my my account. I spent over 2 hours on the phone trying to resolve the problem on that same day to no avail. I am a senior citizen living on SSA & retirement military pay from my deceased husband, which is my only source of income. They said the only thing I could do was open a new personal account with their institution & that all transactions with the account under my trust name were frozen until debits had hit the account. I am crippled monetarily as I can't have access to my SSA & DFAS deposits to pay any bills or access any $ out of this frozen account that will be closed when all debit transactions have stopped. .

Consumer Complaint: USAA allowed someone to open a credit card in my name. I am not a member of USAA and never have been. After notifying them 3 times and asked that they close the account and remove it from my credit report they have failed miserably. The persons who committed this fraud have tried over and over again to get a replacement card by changing the address which keeps hitting on my credit reports. Luckily I noticed this right away before any charges occurred but there will be negative info on my credit report if the don't cancel the card and remove my name and info out of their system. I Called USAA 's customer service and told them these are not my charges and I have my credit card in my hand. on XXXX I was called by a USAA rep and was told the charges will stay on my account and interest charges as well and the charges were not found fraudulent as my credit card was in my possession. I did not make these charges I told them but she stated the investigation was complete and wished me a well.
