Consumer Complaint: Good afternoon, In XX/XX/2022, I signed up for a US Bank " cash back deal '' that was sent to me through an email. The cash back deal stated that if I made a purchase of {$100.00} or more from XXXX XXXX XXXX, that I would receive {$35.00} cash back. I made the required purchase on XX/XX/2022 for {$100.00}. I never received the cash back, even after contacting US Bank twice. I believe this is an Unfair and Deceptive practice by US Bank to not follow through on their offers.

Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Funds not received from closed account
Consumer Complaint: Good afternoon : I am a US citizen residing in XXXX, PA. I am writing to you to request your assistance and to file a complaint for the US Bank. I have exhausted all the other channels available through US banks. In XXXX of XXXX, I opened a checking/savings account with a US bank , because I could save some money on my closing costs with a US mortgage for my second home. I decided to use this account mostly for my rental property ( previous home ). I have a tenant that deposited mostly rent payments from XXXX to XXXX into the US Checking account. In XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from a US bank stating that the account was going to be closed due to the lack of activity. I did not make much of it. In XX/XX/XXXX, I began to call the US bank and requested the funds that were left into the account, ( {$3800.00} ). I was told by different customer service representatives that the US retains the funds for 45-60 days from the moment that the account is closed. So I waited 45 days and called back and I was told to wait 60 days. It has been more than 90 days and I still have not received my funds. After many calls to customer service and many people on line, I was told that the funds were going to be released at a US Branch office. I needed to go in person. I did not have any US bank branches closed by. I was sent to a US bank in XXXX, Ohio. I spoke with the branch manager who identified himself as XXXX. He said in various calls he will not issue a cashier 's check or release the funds because he does not know why the account was closed. He, the US Bank Branch manager, did some research and found nothing to justify why the account was closed. He has refused to release the funds because he said a hold was placed on the account and he does not feel comfortable releasing the funds. This all seems to be a scam. These were legally deposited funds into my account that US Bank without any other communication or justifications provide no path to recovery. Please, provide me with some guidance on how to proceed in this matter. Thanks so much Regards XXXX XXXX XXXX

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Problem making or receiving payments
Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX minutes ) : I called US Bank customer service to put a stop payment on 3 checks ( XXXX ) that were made through bill pay. I was told I could not do this without the check numbers. I told customer service that I did not have the check numbers as they were automatically generated by US bank when they produce the check and mail it, but I did have the amounts ( they were all for the same amount ). Again, I was told that there was nothing that they can do and to call back if and when they hit may account. XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX minutes ) : I called US Bank customer service as the 3 checks processed on my account the business night before. I was bounced around within their departments ( 5 times ). Finally I was told that there was nothing that they could do as they had hit my account ( contradiction to my call to US Bank on XX/XX/XXXX ) and I had to call XXXX to get them stopped. They did end up reversing the overdraft charges. XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX minutes ) : I called XXXX and they told me that there was nothing that they could do as it was US Bank 's responsibility to stop payment on them. XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX hour, XXXX minutes ) : I called US Bank back again and told them XXXX could not help me as it was up to US Bank. I started getting somewhere. One of the checks ( XXXX ) was returned NSF. She did put a stop payment on that one for the next time it was processed, and told me to call back tomorrow to make sure it was in the system. As for the other two checks, I was told that US bank does have access to get the check numbers that they processes with bill pay and that customer service should have transferred me to the Online bill pay department. If this was done, the stop payments would have been place on these three checks on XX/XX/XXXX. She put in a paper item adjustment for the amount of the two checks that were processed and I should have the funds back in my account on Thursday, XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX minutes ) : Called US Bank and verified that a stop payment was processed for the check that was returned NSF. Confirmed that it was. XX/XX/XXXX : Called US Bank as the credit was not in my account. I was told that is was pending and that it would be processed later that night. XX/XX/XXXX : Called US bank as the credit was still not posted to my account. I was told that it was rejected and they were not going to credit me back the money for the bank error. They also said that they were going to pull up my original call I made to put the stop payments on the three checks and use it for training purposes. I also asked to leave a message to the person who processed the paper item adjustment to give me a call. XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX minutes ) : Called US Bank to email me the notes of the conversations since XX/XX/XXXX to file with this complaint. They refused citing it was personal information. I asked to speak to a manager. The manager never answered and I left him a message to call me back.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, 2021, I filed an FCRA request with XXXX to correct inaccurate information on my credit report. XXXX has been reporting for years that my account balance with Elan Financial Services is in dispute, when no dispute exists. I had previously been questioned about this while applying for a mortgage. XXXX responded that they verified the information as accurate. I subsequently requested a reinvestigation, and XXXX responded identically. I then requested a description of the verification procedure, and XXXX refused to provide one, in violation of Section 611 ( a ) ( 7 ). XXXX instead told me verbally that they relied upon information from Elan Financial Services, and I should request a letter from Elan confirming my account status. Therefore, I contacted Elan Financial Services. Elan denied knowledge of any current dispute. I requested a verification letter affirming this, and Elan verbally agreed. Elan then wrote a letter claiming that they couldn't provide any information about the alleged dispute on my credit report because it was reported through the credit reporting agency. Thus, both XXXX and Elan are pointing fingers at each other, saying that they don't know anything about why my account balance is showing up as being in dispute. Additionally, XXXX has, without my consent, added a notation to my credit file indicating that I dispute that my account is in dispute.
