Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Funds not received from closed account
Consumer Complaint: I opened up several accounts with Suntrust Bank in XXXX. They frozed and closed all of my accounts several weeks later without my knowledge. They had my funds tide up for almost 2 months now. I asked them to release my funds in the branch in XXXX and they declined and said its under investigation for whatever reason. They eventually mailed me a check and when I recently checked the tracking it stated the check was forwarded to another address. When I called to report the issue, they said they will mail me another check but it will take another 15 days. I am requesting Suntrust full cooperation and to release my funds and expedite it to me immediately. Ive been very kind and patient about this matter and just want them to do right by me. Im a good hearted personIve received several proclamations from Mayors ; worked for the US Dept of Commerce so Im a legitimate and great individual and dont understand why they would even close my accounts without my knowledge. This is very unprofessional and very bad business. I just want my funds released to me immediately. Thank you for your cooperation and attention to this matter.

Both accounts have been placed back on XXXX XXXX. Suntrust was asked numerous times to place a stop payment and didnt. Attached are the two paid off accounts. Consumer Complaint: I have a FHA mortgage in good standing with Suntrust Now Truist, I asked in writing to have my Mortgage Insurance Premium removed as soon as my loan reaches a LTV of 80 %. We fit all requirements for this, our loan is at least 5 years old, and we have no delinquent payments ever. I received a letter back from Suntrust Now Truist on XX/XX/2021 stating incorrectly that they can not delete my premiums until my LTV reaches 78 %. The law clearly states that if I am in good standing and give them written notice, they must delete my premium charges as soon as I am below 80 %, and they must delete it when I reach 78 % if I take no action. I have given them the request in writing, and they have denied my request and have kept charging me the MIP every month. Their letter stated they would stop charging me when I reach 78 % LTV after XX/XX/2021.

Consumer Complaint: I have a home mortgage with Suntrust Bank. They keep emailing me sensitive private information via unsecured email. This creates a risk that I can have my identity stolen or became a victim of a fraud. I attach a screenshot of an excerpt of such an email, in which I manually redacted out the said sensitive private information. I have already requested that they stop doing so, and I was told that they would stop, but they keep emailing me said sensitive private information via unsecured email. I filed a complaint with CFBP, case number XXXX. The Company replied that they removed my email address form their system and that I would not receive any emails from them. As a result, CFBP closed my complaint. However, despite what the compamy replied, I received earlier today the same message as before emailed to me at my email address that they claimed they removed from their system. I attach a screenshot of an excerpt of such an email, in which I manually redacted out the said sensitive private information.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Deposits and withdrawals
Consumer Complaint: I went to SunTrust on XXXX XXXX in XXXX. I planned to open a joint checking/savings account. One of the credit reports was locked so I left and came back to the bank to finish it on XX/XX/XXXX. The bankers name is XXXX XXXX. I gave XXXX {$2000.00} in cash and a {$9000.00} cashiers check from XXXX, having closed an account and received a cashiers check. I received a receipt for the deposit. XXXX mentioned that cashier checks can be held for a few days. Id specifically mentioned that online access was very important. I established the online account Friday night, XX/XX/XXXX. I was able to log in to the account and access it. The next time I tried to sign on and every subsequent time I am told that it's unable to access site, as if its offline. I went back to the SunTrust branch where I was told the account was locked and the cashiers check was on hold. I told them that I just wanted to close the account. They said they had to do an investigation but refused to tell me anything about it. And I was unable to close the account. I tried calling Suntrust Customer Service and go through the SunTrust help desk a few times but kept getting kicked to the back of the queue or disconnected after 20-30 minutes on hold. The email 's I have received from Suntrust keep telling me to log on to my account to find out the status of my account, but I am unable to log on to my account since I appear to be locked out. I got a letter from SunTrust saying the cashiers check funds would be available XX/XX/XXXX. I got a phone call from SunTrust representative XXXX XXXX, Client Advocacy, who said that XXXX XXXX would be assigned as the case manager, and I would receive a call from her concerning the status of my account within 15 days. XXXX has not called. Then I received a letter from her saying she has tried to contact me but was unable to reach me, and the phone number to call her. I have called the phone number many times and even called XXXX XXXX back. I have the phone records. As of XX/XX/XXXX, I have called XXXX 10 times, XXXX twice. Never able to talk to anyone, always have to leave a message. Not once have I received anything from anyone. Silence. SunTrust has had my money for more than a month. They refuse to answer questions, refuse to say when my money will be returned to me. That no one will tell me what is going on and when I will get my money returned, this is just wrong. That I can't get anyone from Suntrust to talk to me about this is the most confusing and aggravating ordeal I have ever gone through.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: Resubmit to CFPB XX/XX/2021 : FYI : have not heard back from CFPB -- - sent 4 attachments with documents spanning XX/XX/2021 to date to CFPB to settle issue with the involved companies. BBT continues to charge ongoing late fees and interest charges on my credit card since XX/XX/XXXX. BBT/Truist Bank and impacts XXXX XXXX insurance as well -- - Communication to BBT CEO , Email, and multiple customer website communications to both organizations ; multiple discussions with Dispute Ctr BBT by phone and documents sent, also spoken with BBT Collections when they called me 2 weeks ago. The latter individual " XXXX '' ( they " do not give '' phone call confirmation numbers ) knew what needed to occur and should have occurred already, " a charge-back '' to BBT. Also informed her that the USA CFPB has a written online complaint from me about this impasse. No one resolves it. Every other credit card group contacts the merchant involved and will directly resolve the problem, not BBT. BBT charged for the health insurance premium which had been paid for quite some time by me with them. For some reason, XXXX, the health insurance provider did not receive the summer payment although paid to BBT, and their letter indicated I would have my insurance cancelled if not paid promptly to them. I paid them at that point to avoid insurance contract cancellation. So, XXXX in the meantime was paid by both BBT and myself. Recently, I return-mailed to the BBT Dispute Center another synopsis of the above and all my health insurance identifying information for them to settle with XXXX. I have/have had for years a terrific FICO scores & now this.

Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: I have previously filed a complaint with you regarding the restarting of my payments after a mortgage of one year on four mortgages. The complaint number is XXXX. I have been in contact with Truiest many times since writing the original complaint and it seems two of the mortgages were in need of a soft appraisal to complete the documentation. I was sent a letter to the effect stating that the appraisals would be ordered at my expense, but was not consulted as to if I agreed to this fee. I called to ask how much I was to be charged and the representative was not able to tell me how much nor how I was expected to pay. When I started this forbearance process, I was told there were to be no additional hidden fees nor penalties. I find this fee to be a hidden penalty and predictionary. I was told that it is a standard procedure and required on all mortgages coming out of forbearance, but she had no explanation when I said it was only being required on two. I do not see how they can expect me to pay for something that I have no idea the fee nor did I approve.
