Consumer Complaint: My complaint is regarding my credit card with SunTrust/Truist I do not have all information, because I am locked out of my online banking. I have a seldom used credit card with Sun Trust ( not in over a year ). Over the summer, there was an automatic charge for an annual magazine subscription that I was unaware of. Not expecting any charges, I never check my online account ( the reason I am locked out of their online banking and will have to be on hold for XXXX minutes to get it working again ). So, the first statement I see shows a charge of {$42.00} for an annual magazine subscription and a {$25.00} late payment fee. I call, make the payment of {$42.00}, and am told they will waive the late fee. The next statement has the initial {$25.00} late fee plus another late fee ( I believe it was {$39.00} ). I call again, and they tell me I was supposed to call back again to get the initial {$25.00} fee waived. So I'm charged a late fee on a late fee. On XX/XX/21, I made a payment of {$40.00} leaving the balance at {$25.00} ( interest was added to the late fee ). Well, here I am again in XXXX with another late fee on a late fee after, on my initial call, I was told that the initial {$25.00} late fee was being waived. At this time, they are saying my new balance is approximately {$52.00}. Essentially, for a single charge of {$42.00}, they are trying to usurp $ XXXX in late fees.

Consumer Complaint: I have a personal & business checking account with Suntrust. I attempted an external transfer and was expecting the transfer to be pulled from my personal account & not the business account. The last 4 digits both include a XXXX and a XXXX for both accounts and from my external bank it only said Suntrust so it was not clear which was business or personal. I was charged a {$38.00} fee. I called a local branch near my house and the banker told me I'm allowed 1 fee refund per year and she told me she was refunding the {$38.00} to my account. I have never asked Suntrust for a fee refund in my entire lifetime. I have not seen the refund so I was lied to and I'm not happy about have a business & personal checking account with this bank and being lied to about policies and refunds. I expect the bank to honor the fee refund as I was told this on the phone by their own employee.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021 I initiated payment from my savings account for the month of XXXX. Mortgagor due to error in the system withdrew funds from my checking and savings account resulting in duplicate payment and overdraft fees. Payment from checking account was not authorized by me but was processed because checking account was previously linked to my loan. Mortgagor error resulted in a slew of problems including insufficient balance and overdraft fees. Two weeks later they are still unable to process a refund. Upon many requests to get connected to a supervisor within payment department, customer service would hang up on me or tell me that supervisor is not available.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021 my posted balance was {$1000.00}. On XX/XX/2021 7 transactions cleared totaling {$250.00} left a posted balance of {$780.00} but they charge me an overdraft fee of {$36.00} for each transaction totaling {$250.00} leaving a posted balance of {$530.00}. On XX/XX/2021 They refunded on overdraft fee of {$36.00}. Then at transaction of {$1.00} cleared, then a transaction of {$320.00} cleared, then a transaction of {$760.00} cleared and they charged me a {$36.00} overdraft fee for that transaction because it caused my account to go negative $ XXXX. On XX/XX/2021 my account was not negative, but they charged me the late fees. They told me it was because they added up all the pending transactions and it made me negative even though they didn't clear and was just pending. They didn't charge me the fees the following day on the other two transactions. Now that BB & T is Truist it's ripping people off. I have been told they will do nothing about it because the computer program makes all the decisions.

The XX/XX/XXXX overdraft fee was not due to any mistake or fault on my behalf and should be removed from my account.
