Consumer Complaint: I have an account with Truist. I barely use the account to the point I forgot I have the account. I recently deposited 2 money orders into the account to pay rent. Due to a couple overdrafts and some were due to Truist maintenance fees Truist decided to hold all of my money which was {$1300.00}. I could have taken my money elsewhere. They are holding my money for almost 2 weeks and now I will be extra late paying my rent and no one seems to care. I spoke with supervisor XXXX at Truist and she placed me on hold and disconnected the call. Im very dissatisfied. I will be closing my account and taking my money elsewhere because this is unacceptable. If I owed money they couldve just taken the money I owed instead of being ok with me being late to the place my children and I lay our heads. I barely use this account and now I will never use it.

Consumer Complaint: Truist is still keeping my refunds when I had XXXX balance on my account ending in XXXX, and they are applying them to a XXXX BB & T account ending in XXXX that I ended with bb & t owing them nothing and they have added fraudulent fees for {$240.00} with NO TRANSACTION TO SUPPORT THOSE FEES IF CFBP IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO IGNORE THIS ISSUE THEN I AM GOING TO FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST CFPB ALONG WITH TRUIST ... BECASUE THEY HAVE TAKEN OVER XXXX IN REFUNDS AND DENIED THEY EVEN TOOK THEM THEY HAVE LIE AND SAID THEY CANT KEEP THEM TO CLOSED ACCOUNT EVEN STATED THEY SENT THE FUNDS TO ME YET NOTHING IS BEING DONE..THEY CANT EVEN TELL ME WHAT THE {$240.00} IN FEES AFTER MY XXXX ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED WAS FOR BECAUSE I LEFT THEM A WHOLE CHECK YET THEY TOOK THE CHECK AND ADDED ON MORE FEES THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT SINCE THEY WOULD NOT CLOSE IT OUT WHEN BB & T LEFT OUT THEN THEY SHOULD HAVE BECAUSE THESE FEES ARE NOT EVEN USED BY BANKS ANYMORE YET THEY HAVE ADDED FRAUDULENT FEES WITHOUT A SINGLE TRANSACTION TO SUPPORT THESE FRAUDULETN FEES. There are multiple errors on account from XXXX to XXXX. Never made a {$300.00} transaction, because I never received a card to make transactions from the XXXX accounts from which the account was a promo that I was to receive {$200.00} credit after direct deposit never received the {$200.00} for opening up the account after direct deposit. Merchants issues with refunds over {$500.00} in refund after account was closed on XXXX, was told account would be credited, never even received notification that the refund came to account kept being told merchant has the refunds, who was XXXX, they refused to check XXXX number, refunds should have been refunded to me instead they were distributed to collections for an account I never received any information that I owed for an account from XXXX years ago, was even allowed to open several accounts with truist also truist is charging me for declined transactions with debit card {$36.00} a piece. Over {$300.00} in declined purchases never had overdraft. Many disputes were denied that should have been approved, also had XXXX told Truist I didnt have them as an insurance company truist still allowed progressive to take my money in a recuring charge all year XXXX and I paid XXXX insurance companies because they refused to dispute it, just as they refused to dispute a lot of fraudulent transactions at atm and online. Truist owes me from XXXX to XXXX ... there are more issues but those are the issues that cross my mind, and the agents calls need to be monitored, also the fact that the bank XXXX closed my account and made it seem like this was something I done he closed my account and blamed it on executive decisions, which was not the truth. Truist has put me a financial hardship with their poor decision-making practices, and I have lost a car, almost lost my house and I am behind in bills have not been able to take a vacation because of their greed and negligence to not approve claims steal my refunds still haven't provided me documentation they have my money and failed to provide documentation to most to the claims that were denied. While charging me for declined purchases when Truist dont even charge you {$36.00} for each declined purchase, and that department supervisors never return calls after I was hung up by XXXX in the collections he never called back and ignored every message sent to him and XXXX XXXX in that department, also I have won disputes but no one can tell me how I am to get my money but I'm assuming you will do is apply my money to an old account I never knew existed best way to keep the money, and never provide me any documentation to the account that was in collections nor have they even told me that money was taken from XXXX account and issued to another that is stealing in basic terms nor have they notified me as to how much I owed and when I finally found out they still have failed to send me the proper documentation pertaining to this refund issue and I recently found out that They taken {$94.00} that returned to a closed account and didnt write me a check or send it back to the merchant like they said they would do, instead they applied for my refunds to a XXXX collection that I knew nothing about. Which their clause states that they can take money from an active account I dont have an active account so that money should have come to me, but they have did this fraudulently, and the statute of limitations is 3 years for debts in South Carolina so they are violating all of my rights for their gain, and I am losing my life savings dealing with these matters that should've been corrected. I can't afford an attorney because Truist has took everything, I'm assuming thats why your agents and supervisors treat me, so unprofessional please start monitoring your calls and you can go listen to any of mine and it will give you an idea of how not to treat a customer... they hanging up or getting smart with me, and never do they de-escalate the situation most of the calls are re-escalated.

Issue: Closing on a mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021, I applied for a home mortgage with Truist Bank. Truist provided a Loan Estimate on XX/XX/2021, with Estimated Closing Costs of {$13000.00}. On XX/XX/2021, Truist notified me that I was required to complete and pay for septic repairs as estimated by XXXX XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$7700.00}. Truist provided a Closing Disclosure on XX/XX/2021, with Closing Costs of {$11000.00}. These closing costs included my payment of {$7700.00} to XXXX XXXX XXXX, and a credit of {$7400.00} for increase of Closing Costs above legal limit. I contracted with XXXX XXXX XXXX to complete the septic repairs, the repairs were completed and I paid {$7700.00} to XXXX XXXX XXXX by XX/XX/2021. We settled the mortgage and purchase of the home on XX/XX/2021. At settlement, Truist did not include my payment to XXXX XXXX XXXX as part of my closing costs. By doing so, Truist increased my closing costs above the legal limit, did not account for it, and avoided giving me the required credit of {$7400.00}.

Consumer Complaint: I actually did open an account online at Truist Bank. I used their promotion for the XXXX dollar welcome bonus with the intention to switch over from XXXX XXXX after I received the bank card. I put in the minimum amount because I still needed to be able to access my money while I waited. While I was waiting the account was closed for fraud. I called and went to the bank and they both said that it was closed for fraud and would not tell me why. On all my credit reports and identity monitoring, I have no red flags. This is technically the first bank account I've ever opened as my original was opened for me by my parents when I was younger. I am XXXX and I really need to know why it was closed.

Consumer Complaint: Opened my account with Truist bank in branch on XXXX XXXX and made a XXXX dollar deposit with a money order from the post office I bought. The next day the money order cleared so I XXXX payment to myself XXXX of those dollars to another account I bank at. This bank froze my account with my funds in it and wont tell me why, wont fix it and told me to call ews. They cant do this without notifying me first or telling me why. If they were going to deny my bank account they shouldve never taken my money. I wrote a check out of there to close my account. This is unacceptable treatment.

Issue: Problem caused by your funds being low
Subissue: Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Consumer Complaint: I had approximately XXXX in my account and charged {$75.00} at XXXX on my debit card linked to my personal checking account. Also XXXX, the lender that sometimes is helpful when purchasing larger items like cell phones, charged me {$99.00} bi-weekly rather than the expected monthly billing cycle- so this caused me to nearly overdraft my account- but on XX/XX/XXXX I had over {$100.00} in my account. However, I was charged three overdrafts for {$36.00} which led to me being negative {$4.00}. The next day an unexpected XXXX purchase ( {$140.00} ) - which shipped earlier than expected -came out for {$140.00} and then an additional overdraft fee was charged, in all fairness, possibly the only overdraft fee that could have been considered a fair amount to call for an overdraft fee. **I might have actually overdrafted once for the XXXX XXXX, which was unexpected - however, because my bank charged me three overdraft fees on XX/XX/XXXX when I would not have been overdrawn at all this/it caused me to get four total overdraft fees. Additionally, I was attempting to have {$1000.00} wired to my checking account that day from my XXXX XXXX investment account, and I was told by Truist Bank 's representative, who was offshore in XXXX, on the phone that it was an multiple day waiting period/international wire - no matter how many times I explained to her that I was wiring it from XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX to Truist Bank in XXXX - and this caused an additional days delay or there would have been no overdrafts. For several years, there has been an element of international intrigue involved in these extraordinary renditions wielded upon me by my bank.
