By Definition, the IRS Clearly says a Cancelled debt or Charge off is Income. The reporting of this account as a debt is inaccurate. I never received a 1099-C from each of the following XXXX Original Creditor XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Original Creditor XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX Original Creditor XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX and Original Creditor XXXX for the cancelled debt in order to file as ordinary income. ( 3 ) Limitations after receipt of request from administrator ( i ) Limitation on fees and increases in annual percentage rates. After receiving a request from the administrator of an estate for the amount of the balance on a deceased consumer 's account, a card issuer must not impose any fees on the account ( such as a late fee, annual fee, or over-the-limit fee ) or increase any annual percentage rate, except as provided by 1026.55 ( b ) ( 2 ). ( ii ) Limitation on trailing or residual interest. A card issuer must waive or rebate any additional finance charge due to a periodic interest rate if payment in full of the balance disclosed pursuant to paragraph ( c ) ( XXXX ) of this section is received within 30 days after disclosure.

Consumer Complaint: I am filing a complaint against TransUnion regarding their handling of my dispute letter sent on XX/XX/year>, requesting an investigation into inaccurate items on my credit report. The disputed items include accounts from XXXX, XXXX, and a reference to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court with case number XXXX. In addition to disputing these accounts, I also raised concerns about incorrect personal information listed on my credit report. To assist TransUnion in verifying my identity and address, I enclosed a copy of my photo ID, social security card, and recent bill with my current address. TransUnion responded on XX/XX/year>, indicating that they had received my request but questioned its authenticity, stating that it did not appear to have been sent directly by me or an authorized third party. This response suggests a failure on TransUnion 's part to conduct a reasonable investigation into the disputed items, as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). As per the FCRA, credit bureaus are obligated to conduct a reasonable reinvestigation upon receipt of a dispute to determine the accuracy of the information in a consumer 's file. TransUnion 's failure to fulfill this obligation constitutes a violation of my consumer rights. Enclosed with this complaint are copies of my dispute letter sent to TransUnion, along with their response, as proof of the correspondence.
