Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I never received any information regarding there was an amount due on the account. I was then notified by email and text that I had a 30 day past due account showing on my credit report. Upon checking, I realized it was my Target account with a balance of XXXX. I immediately contacted them and paid the amount. I also explained that I had never received any correspondence regarding this. I pleaded with them to please have the 30 day late removed since this account had never been late. This one 30 day late payment dropped my credit score a whopping 50 + points. I just feel that one oversight on a consumer 's behalf should not result in them being so harshly penalized. Not to mention, that if I had been sent some type of notification, I would have addressed this immediately. It was a mere XXXX XXXX which I definitely could and would have paid prior to it being reported to the credit bureaus as a 30 day late payment.

They said that they would freeze the card due to the fraudulent application. They confirmed that the account was opened using an address other than my own. XX/XX/2023 I contacted XXXX to report the fraudulent activity and put a freeze on my credit report. XX/XX/2023 I contacted XXXX to report the fraudulent activity and put a freeze on my credit report. They advised that I place a report with FTC or police.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: MY BALANCE WAS LISTED AS A CHARGE OFF BUT WAS PAID IN FULL I had traded-in a XXXX XXXX XXXX phone in XXXX for a XXXX XXXX XXXX through XXXX I sent in the phone, which worked but had a big crack on the top left corner of the screen. When I did the trade-in, XXXX initially gave me a {$250.00} credit toward the purchase of the new XXXX phone, which was {$1000.00}. That amount was paid immediately and in FULL. Then they reversed the {$250.00} credit and said the phone didn't work. I spoke to a supervisor and requested that they have someone else re-evaluate the phone, and they did. After the last evaluation, they stated that the phone worked but had a cracked screen, so they had to adjust the credit from {$250.00} to {$100.00}, with me owing {$150.00} based on the adjusted balance. In the interim, I was billed {$250.00} by TD Bank DBA XXXX XXXX. In XX/XX/2021, I was told by XXXX XXXX XXXX, NOT TD Bank doing business as XXXX XXXX, NOT to pay the {$250.00} balance because it was incorrect and that they would send TD Bank DBA XXXX XXXX an adjustment with the new balance of {$150.00}. They also said the new {$150.00} would show up on my statement in 2-3 billing cycles. I did as they said until I received a bill from TD Bank DBA XXXX XXXX for $ XXXX AND a collection agency called XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX for {$150.00} in the same week in late XX/XX/2021. I filed a dispute with BOTH companies and contacted XXXX XXXX and informed them of the situation. I was again instructed by XXXX XXXX NOT to pay the balance from TD Bank DBA XXXX XXXX because the amount was wrong, and the actual amount owed was from the XXXX collection agency. When I asked why it went to collections, I was told by a supervisor at XXXX XXXX that they had a problem processing my credit card payment of {$160.00}, which was the {$150.00} owed plus {$10.00} tax. I was also told by XXXX XXXX that they would notify TD Bank DBA XXXX XXXX that the balance they had been billing me was incorrect. So I paid the {$150.00} from XXXX that same day as instructed by XXXX XXXX. In the interim, TD Bank DBA XXXX XXXX rejected my dispute and said that I still owed them the original balance plus interest and late fees, which was almost {$500.00}. When I filed my dispute with TD Bank DBA XXXX XXXX I told them that they were supposed to receive an adjustment from XXXX XXXX for {$150.00} I was told by someone at TD Retail Card Services ( part of their collections division ) that they had NOT received an adjustment. They then sent me " proof '' that I still owed the almost {$500.00} balance. What they actually sent was the adjustment statement I was initially told they had never received. When I tried to file another dispute with this new information, I was denied and told that I could not and that no one would talk to me. I was told that I could email them, snail mail them, or fax them any information I had. I did all three, and every email I sent bounced back, and they never replied to my snail mail or faxes. Instead, in XXXX of XXXX, I received a call from another collections agency called XXXX XXXX XXXX. After speaking to the manager there and sending him the same information I'd sent to TD Bank and TD Retail Card Services, he agreed that the balance was indeed PAID IN FULL and that the debt was NOT OWED. But TD Bank DBA XXXX XXXX NEVER took the debt off of my credit report ; instead, they listed it as a charge-off.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Overcharged for something you did purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/2022, XXXX double charged my XXXX credit card issued through TD Bank for an automatic membership renewal in the amounts of {$390.00} and {$420.00}. I contacted XXXX the same day I noticed the charge, and was advised I could cancel the membership for a full refund as allowed in their refund policy, however they could only verify one of the charges and not the other. After a lengthy phone call, I was advised it may be an issue with the bank. I proceeded to file a transaction dispute and after a 90 day process of waiting and following up, I received a letter stating the dispute was closed and XXXX had refunded one charge, but the other charge was a valid purchase. The option give to me was to contact XXXX again to dispute the charge. I contacted XXXX again and was told I would receive a refund for the extra charge. I waited the typical 10 business days and then reached out again to follow up. I was assured again the refund would be issued and to allow a few more days. The excuse given was a " problem with the credit system ''. I have waited another full week, nearly 4 months after the initial erroneous charge and have yet to receive a refund. This charge remains on my TD credit account and I am worried if this charge is not refunded before the promotional 12 months expires, I will then be made responsible for the erroneous charge plus 12 months of interest at 30 %.

Consumer Complaint: I got a collection warning from Nordstrom card services today. Ive already had to file once that I am going through a financial hardship and needed assistance but they werent wanting to provide a way to message or email at the time. And now theyre asking me to call but weve already been through this issue before and I feel like this wasnt handled correctly. They werent offering any payment plans before but now I guess they are? This would have been great months ago as an offer instead of my credit score tanking because I cant afford the payments right now which I let them know about. Theyre demanding a payment by the XXXX in the letter and I didnt get it until the XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I went to the TD Bank on XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Massachusetts. I requested a letter from the bank with the following information : date account opened, total amount deposited in the past 12 months and current balance. I explained that the letter is for immigration purposes and was told that it wouldn't be an issue. The request went to headquarters according to the representative I spoke to and would be made available to me within 2-3 business days. A week went by and I didn't receive the letter or a call from the bank. I called the bank and requested the letter again. On XX/XX/XXXX I got a secure email with a letter from TD that has my available balance and average balance for 6 months. I called the local branch and spoke to the manger regarding the discrepancy. I explained that I need a letter with these specifications due to immigration asking. She later informed me that they can not generate that request for past total deposit for 12 months. I called corporate to file a complaint and was met with the same response. I am entitled to this information and it shouldn't be so hard. I want the institution to provide me the proper information as requested.

Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/ the TD Bank applied two fees, {$20.00} each, to my mortgage account, following the successful resolution of outstanding mortgage balances by the government assistance fund ( HAF ) up to XX/XX/. HAF 's payment went through on XX/XX/, after the excessive validation of the loan reinstatement amount by HAF and TD bank using federally approved system, etc. The fees do not have any description associated with them and are impossible to understand. ( On a call, TD bank XXXX refused to remove/adjust the fees and told me they were for property inspection, but in that case they should have been rolled into the reinstatement figures submitted to HAF ). The fees resulted in {$40.00} shortage on my XX/XX/ mortgage payment and the payment was not applied creating the possibility for additional fees and late charges.
