Consumer Complaint: My recently opened TD bank checking accounts were shortly after closed and I was told at the branch that they do not have explanations why I can not continue relationship with the bank and ever open another account in future again. I also called the fraud prevention center because I was advised by the manager of the branch location near me to call and verify my identity, which I did and I was cleared and the account was reopened for two days, and than I was locked out again. I called the number of the bank to find out whats the problem, and I was told that I need to go to the branch. I was told at the branch that the TD bank has ended relationship with me and no further information was available, no explanation. The account was closed on XX/XX/2023 with balance of XXXX cents. I dont understand what is the reason for this type of mistreatment, they gave me no valid reason. This has been happening to me with several different other banks prior to this one like XXXX XXXX closed me with no explanation, than XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX and I applied for XXXX was denied, applied for checking account at XXXX XXXX was denied, XXXX XXXX was denied a checking account. I was not told a reason why! I called and went to the branches and followed their instructions of verifications, and no result.

Consumer Complaint: I received a notice from my bank that another bank had run my credit today XX/XX/2023. The credit report shows it was TD Bank. I went to the local branch to find out who ran my credit without my approval and where. They say they have no way of identifying who could have done that. They asked me to fill out a Consumer Credit Report Dispute Form but the addresses to mail it to do not apply to what they have done. I then printed my credit report from XXXX which shows it was done by TD Bank and gives me a phone number to call. I have called that number and have been transferred to XXXX different people all with the same answer, " I don't know ''. Until I asked if they have a legal department and then they just hung up on me. I called back again and was transferred to the fraud department and they also have no way of checking who did this. All they can say is that there is no account in my name or credit card. There has to be more accountability on their part as a financial institution.

Consumer Complaint: On Saturday XX/XX/2023, I sold a vehicle to a stranger. We both banked with TD. We went into the bank and the buyer withdrew {$20000.00} from his account, and I deposited the cash into my account. I then gave the vehicle and the title to the buyer. I have a receipt of the deposit. An hour later I looked at my account and the {$20000.00} was placed on hold. I went back to the bank same day XX/XX/XXXX and I was told by the same teller that the buyer came back and wanted to make it a check transaction. She stated that the buyer said he spoke to me, but this was not true. She withdrew the cash from my account without my knowledge and without my consent and I was not in the bank. She then deposited a check for the same amount. Another teller stated that the buyer is allowed to change his mind and that the transaction was changed without my knowledge or consent. I went into the branch on Monday at XXXX to talk to the manager and the manager XXXX said he didn't have time for me. I call the bank yet again and was told it was going to be escalated to the regional manager and I would get a call today. No call, I called at XXXX and was told there's no one available and XXXX the regional manager is not available. {$20000.00} cash was taken out of my account and replaced with a check without my knowledge or consent. The funds are still not available.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX I made an ACH payment in the amount of {$21000.00} to a XXXX account in XXXX, NJ. The account # provided turned out to be of someone not affiliated with the intended receivers company, XXXX XXXXThe account number was supplied by someone who hacked my customers email and sent the account information posing as the customer. I was made aware of the situation 5 days later and called TD Bank Fraud department and the XXXX XXXX of the XXXXXXXX XXXX where the monies were sent to in an effort alert the banks and to recover my funds. Although the 3-day recall window had passed the monies were still in the account and I explained to both parties that the transfer was based on fraudulent information. The XXXX manager told me that they would mark the account and transaction but XXXX would need to deal directly with TD Bank. He also impressed upon me the need to have the situation upgraded to a priority at TD Bank. He explained although the account was flagged, they could not hold back the monies indefinitely. I made my second call to TD Bank customer service to relay this critical information. The representative, XXXX XXXX no last name given ) assured me that they would move quickly to reach out to XXXX and lock down the funds until the situation could be resolved. The TD Bank representative assured me she had everything that they needed to follow through and I would receive a follow up call within a week. No follow up call was received. I reached out continuously, speaking with XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and several others and each call I had to start over being told nothing was even in their system. After each repeated attempt to get help I would receive the same hollow assurances. This went on at least 5 - 7 additional times before I was told to go to my branch and file an Affidavit of Fraud, and a local Police Report which I immediately did on XXXXover 2 months after the process started. Why was I not told to do this at the beginning I asked. The response was that this was unchartered waters for the Customer Service team. Additional calls were made and the same promises of action continued without ANY follow up until I started to visit my branch repeatedly. Finally, I received a letter from TD Bank stating that the dispute claim was filed on XX/XX/2022 and was being denied. This is false. I called the TD Bank Fraud department in XXXX. I filed my report via the only method made available to TD Bank customers at the time, their customer service telephone support team. My monies could have been retrieved in XXXX. I was promised by my local manager that my monies would be retrieved " 100 % '' ... her exact words. TD Bank did nothing but provide lip service. No action was ever taken until it was too late and my money were gone. I verified such when I was able to contact and speak with someone from XXXX XXXX Fraud division. He would not provide his name, but he did confirm that TD NEVER contacted them regarding my situation and eventually the monies were released. As proof I called XXXX. He had a case # XXXX for my future reference. He also stated the funds were 100 % retrievable had TD followed through in a timely manner as originally instructed. This is TD Banks fault 100 %. TD Banks unprofessional, untrained service team dropped the ball and caused this loss that was completely preventable. TD Bank is a foreign bank operating in the US. Someone from their corporate office called me several weeks after I received my denial letter to discus my case and in their own words stated that at the time my incident occurred TD Bank did not have a proper ACH customer service team in place and that is why I received multiple unreliable responses that went unanswered. She assured me they now do and I could be confident in continuing to bank with TD. When I asked why TD was offering services such as ACH that they could not support she quickly backtracked and denied what she just had said. I explained that is the exact problem here, everyone involved is prepared to lie in order to avoid taking ANY responsibility. TD needs to be held accountable here. We should not allow this type of company to operate in the US if they can not be held to the high standards customers expect when they make a decision to put their faith in a banking institution. As such, I am requesting a FULL refund of the monies lost.

Consumer Complaint: RE : TD Auto Finance I have financed my vehicle through TD Auto finance, we set up auto payment through our Bank to be paid monthly. For the past year ( Since XX/XX/XXXX ), we have been charged a late fee of {$80.00} monthly for a total of {$1000.00}. We were contacted via phone late XX/XX/XXXX by TD auto finance regarding this accumulated finance charge. Upon speaking with the Bank representative, we found out that the XX/XX/XXXX payment did not go through, not sure if it was a mistake on the part of TD Auto finance or with our Bank XXXX. Since then TD auto finance has been charging us monthly late fee of {$80.00}. Of note, TD auto finance has been getting paid monthly on time by auto debit from my Bank all along except for the XX/XX/XXXX payment. We NEVER received a letter/email or a phone call from TD Auto Finance up until XX/XX/XXXX regarding this ongoing late fee. We spoke to TD auto finance, they refused to waive the fees. As a customer, I feel it is WRONG for TD auto finance not to contact us regarding this issue for a year and ask us to pay up. I would appreciate your intervention regarding this issue. We will happy to provide account details as needed.

Consumer Complaint: I recently disputed some accounts they were inaccurate on my credit report. I noticed after the investigation was completed that my TD Bank/target card has been blocked from use. This account was not part of the investigation and after speaking with the credit bureaus, they confirm that they had not sent any letters to target to have this account blocked. I then spoke with target, and they said that the account was blocked because the credit bureaus had sent them a letter, stating that there was fraud on the account. This account was never in my initial dispute, or was any information provided by the credit bureaus for them to have this account blocked from being used. The creditor has not provided any proof of them receiving information from the credit bureaus to validate. I can also provide proof of my identity in a letter, stating that this account is not fraudulent.

Consumer Complaint: I received notice on XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX XXXX, through XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, that a credit card account had been opened fraudulently in my name. After further investigation, I discovered the account had already accrued a debt of around $ 1,600- {$1700.00}. I discovered that this purchase had taken place online and was picked up in XXXX, CA while I remained over a 2 hour drive away in my home in XXXX XXXX. I immediately took action and reported in good faith to their fraud services department and the FTC. I also called the XXXX XXXX where the pickup took place to report it, as well as freezing my credit. I was told on XX/XX/XXXX by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that the investigation would be resolved by XX/XX/XXXX. I heard nothing until XX/XX/XXXX, when I started to receive debt collection calls & notices without any further information on the resolution of the fraud claim. Their company 's representatives have still not given me a definite answer on what was happening despite repeated attempts at clarification via phone : First, stating on XX/XX/XXXX via phone call that the investigation was still ongoing and then later claiming on XX/XX/XXXX via phone call that there was no notice of a fraud claim on the account. Meanwhile, they have continued to harass me with numerous phone calls ( 3 calls a day, 6 days a week ) without offering any resolution on this clearly fraudulent account through a card service I have never had a relationship with. I have also opened a new Identity Theft Claim with the FTC on XX/XX/XXXX as this matter has clearly not been resolved.
