Consumer Complaint: I have a home equity line of credit at TD Bank, account number XXXX. The account has been paid monthly by me for the past XXXX years timely paid. The XX/XX/2022, payment was made by me on XX/XX/2022. It was made by me as a direct online transfer from my TD checking account to my aforesaid TD credit line account. By the express language of the online payment confirmation this payment was Immediate- effective immediately. I have attached a copy of both the Transfer History, Exhibit A, and the Transfer Detail Exhibit B, both for this payment, and both of which are TD generated, which show : Transfer History ( Exhibit A ) shows 1 ) Payment into my account credit line XXXX 2 ) XX/XX/2022 Payment amount {$350.00} ( only {$330.00} was due ) 3 ) Payment Date XX/XX/2022 And Transfer Detail which has 1 ) The bank confirmation number for the transaction XXXX 2 ) The transfer being from my TD Simple Checking XXXX to my credit line XXXX 3 ) The Amount {$350.00} XXXX ) the Type of Transfer-immediate and 5 ) the Transfer Date of the immediate transfer- XX/XX/2022 As the payment was due on XX/XX/2022, and as it was made, effective immediately, on XX/XX/2022, it was paid on the XXXX day and thus was not more than 30 days past due. This should not have been reported to the credit bureaus by TD bank and when the credit bureaus received my dispute and reviewed it, all three of them should have removed this reporting error immediately.

Consumer Complaint: around the month of XX/XX/2023, someone applied for a Target store card in my name and it was approved. The person used {$390.00} of the ttl limit of {$400.00} to purchase items online the same day they were approved. I received a bill in XX/XX/2023 requesting a payment and I called Target to explain that I did not apply for a card. I was directed by the representative to reach out to the credit bureaus and put a fraud alert on my ss # which I did. I also went to the XXXX police station to file a report. The target rep was not allowed to tell me where the items were shipped to. I am XXXX years old and I live alone. I have not applied for any store cards because I am on a fixed budget.

Consumer Complaint: I have been receiving several phone calls and mail from XXXX a collections agency representing TD Bank/Target Credit Card. They gave the account number XXXX. They told me I had until XX/XX/ to respond and dispute the amount of the said debt. The issue is this account is open and active. I have been making my monthly payments and was completely blown away that they would send my account to collections. The account has not fallen into a collections status since I open the account. My rights as a consumer are being violated because of whatever issue they have in their system. To place my account into collections has been disturbing me as I know that I have been making payments to them. I actually used the card just last month to make a purchase and made a payment this month, I have an available credit right now. The harassing phone calls and a letter stating I am in the collection on a current account are very unethical and wrong on their part. I have tried to contact the XXXX number on the letter only to be told that they were unable to talk to me and that my account had been transferred but would not tell me where was even more stressful.

Consumer Complaint: TD Card Services has recently changed their online payment process for cardholders so that when you go to pay, the options that show are " minimum payment '' ( which is what they are sneakily trying to get more people to only pay ), " current balance '' ( also sneakily trying to get people to select this so they are paid more than actually due at that time and can invest extra and make more money on consumers ' $ ) or " other amount '' - where you then have to type in the amount. Conspicuously missing now is the option that was always there and is always on every credit card, which is the " statement balance ''. This is VERY deceptive and misleading. It is also ANNOYING because now in order to pay the amount that is actually DUE you have to go find what that amount is by viewing a statement balance, remembering that amount, and entering it into the " other amount '' option. Many people will simply pay the full or minimum, neither of which are the best option for the consumer. This was clearly an intentional choice- i spoke to a representative who explained that was one of the updates they made recently. This is deceptive practice and should not be permitted. They should be REQUIRED to give payment option that shows your statement balance. Please let me know if CFPB can do anything about this.

Consumer Complaint: I have had numerous problems with TD Bank. They constantly lie. This time, I have my flood insurance escrowed with my mortgage. So TD Bank is supposed to pay it. I received a letter from my insurance company stating my policy had expired for lack of payment. Of course I call my insurance company and they state nothing was paid. I call TD bank and they lie and say no we paid it. I asked for proof, a Check number, what date was it paid? They said oh we have a copy of your policy and we will send to you. Still not providing any proof pf payment. I call my insurance back and they firmly state the bank never paid. I call TD Bank again and they say oh it was paid with a bulk check. I again asked for proof and they refused to provide any. I wait a few days and call my insurance company, they said they talked with TD Bank and they informed them that they never paid. WHY CONSTANTLY LIE TO ME. MY POLICY WILL EXPIRE BECAUSE OF THEIR NEGLIGENCE

Consumer Complaint: Dear Sir or Madam, I am setting out the chronology of events that prompt my complaint. In sum, TD Bank charged me interest because of an existing balance at the end of the deferred-interest promotional period. TD Bank, however, fails to acknowledge that their faulty online bill payment platform contributed to my having had that balance. At the beginning of my interest-deferred promotional period I used their online bill payment platform to schedule recurring monthly payments which would have cleared the balance during the promotional period. Despite confirming that my instructions were " submitted '', the online bill payment platform did not execute my instructions ; instead, it paid only the minimum amount monthly - so I had a balance at the end of the promotional period. Most significantly, at no point during the promotional period did the bank communicate to me either directly ( via email, text, etc. ) or on the bill payment platform itself that my instructions had been canceled or otherwise overridden. Indeed, when I wrote to TD Bank recently, their bill payment platform still reported my monthly auto-payment instructions at the higher amount as " submitted '' ( not " canceled '', which is another option available on the platform ). In essence, they have a platform that lulled me ( and likely other consumers ) into relying on their representation that I had taken all of the steps necessary to avoid extra costs. Then they assessed me those extra costs. Many consumers use creditors ' auto-payments options so that we can forego constant vigilance with the confidence that we have " taken care of everything. '' I have never before had an recurring payment instruction ignored without warning or explanation. I believe TD Bank 's ongoing practice of not expressly warning consumers that their recurring payment instructions will not be executed to be unethical and fraudulent and, at worst, merely a means to secure extra fees. Chronology : XX/XX/XXXX : I purchased a furniture set for {$2000.00} from XXXX XXXX XXXX on a 12-month interest-free promotion. For the purposes of the promotion, the beginning of the 12-month period was XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX : I used TD Bank 's online bill payment platform to arrange the payment of $ XXXX. The platform 's page indicated that the instructions were " submitted ''. XX/XX/XXXX : I had a house fire and was displaced thereafter for XXXX months. During my displacement, I had sporadic access to mail and was grateful for the autopayments I had set up with my creditors. XX/XX/XXXX : The date by which the original purchase price would have been paid off. XX/XX/XXXX : I purchased another furniture set from XXXX XXXX XXXX to replace the set destroyed by the fire. XX/XX/XXXX : I was assessed {$570.00} in deferred interest charges because of the ongoing balance on my purchase from XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX : I was assessed {$48.00} in interest on the unpaid balance from the XX/XX/XXXX purchase. XX/XX/XXXX : I emailed TD Bank and sent a current screenshot of the online bill payment platform showing that my XX/XX/XXXX instructions to pay $ XXXX were still marked as " submitted '' on their system. XX/XX/XXXX : TD Bank responded to my email with a letter stating that " The finance charges were valid.... ''

Consumer Complaint: TD Bank send me an email promotion with a special offer of 4.5 % APY if I transferred {$10000.00} of new money. I opened the account and deposited {$10000.00}. There are many issues with how they offer this product including making it increadibly difficult to actually get the rate. ( Liking to a checking, which they dont make clear when opening the account, or other ridiculous hurdles ) The rate they are giving me is only 2.96 % and after 3 calls and 1 branch visit and 2 hours of trying to remedy, they say my offer doesnt exist. I still have the email as proof.
