Consumer Complaint: Unable to use Synchrony Bank consumer portal website to view or manage account, including recent purchases and promotions for XXXX different stores. Attempted to access the site using XXXX different web browsers, and cleared cookies, but to no avail. Notified customer service on XX/XX/2022 through both chat and phone, who informed me that they were aware the site was down and to wait XXXX business days, on top of the approximate XXXX week that I had already waited- this timeline has been exceeded. No further notifications received from the bank- until a statement notice was received on XX/XX/2022 for payment due within XXXX weeks. Thinking the bill being sent implied the site was fixed, I again attempted to access my accounts with the bank. However, I am still unable to access my account to verify whether promotional terms have been applied, and any minimum payments due. This is simply unacceptable and scammy for a bank that maintains a consumer account management and payment portal.

When i checked with the hotel they told me that they have refunded the charged which they have done on XXXX XXXX and shared the statement with me.When i called the XXXX XXXX credit card ( synchrony bank ) department they told me that they will raise a dispute and this amount will not be charged to me until this issue is resolved. But i have been charged twice with XXXX as a part of last month 's statement. When i talked to the customer service executive and give the refund transaction Number to him, he informed me that they have received this amound from the hotel guys. But still it will take XXXX days for this issue to resolve. Even though they have got the credit back from hotel they have charged me with XXXX dollars, and they want me to wait for XXXX days to get back my money. I would like to raise a complaint against synchrony bank for the above deed.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX claimed in CFPB case # XXXX that " In accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act, entities who have certified to XXXX that they have a permissible purpose may inquire about credit information. '' SYNCB/XXXX XXXX XXXX did not have a permissible purpose to inquire about credit information. According to federal law, XXXX must be able to verify that SYNCBXXXX XXXX XXXX had a permissible purpose and, if none exists, must remove the hard inquiry from the report within 30 days. The consumer has verified from their end that there was no permissible purpose. Via phone, SYNCB/XXXX & XXXX claims that someone applied for credit using XXXX 's credit report, which would be illegal without XXXX 's XXXX consent ; SYNCB/XXXX XXXX XXXX already acknowledged this but has not taken action to fix this.
