Consumer Complaint: I called the company at ( XXXX ) XXXX to ask why my account was closed. They claimed I closed the account upon finishing payment in 2017. Although I did finish payment, I did not request the account to be closed. This error is causing problems on my credit report, as this was my account with the longest credit history. This error has resulted in higher interest loans for me and affecting my quality of life. I want this company to be investigated and my account to be re opened. I did not close it or request it to be closed. This is a violation of my rights.

Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX XXXX I opened an Ashley HomeStore credit card in order to purchase a couch for my new home. Although I had XXXX XXXX interest for a year I paid off my card within 8 months. I received notification on XX/XX/XXXX that Synchrony was closing my account " after a review ''. They chose to close my account due to the following Lack Of Real Estate Secured Loan Information Too Many Revolving Accounts With High Balance Compared To Credit Limit Too Many Inquiries Balances On Bankcards Are Too High Compared With Credit Limits 1. Why was my account reviewed? There were no missed payments of any kind or late payments. 2. What does having a mortgage have to do with purchasing furniture? 3. What does my balance on other cards have to do with my Ashley HomeStore Card? 4. Why would Synchrony close a card with a {$0.00} balance and paid on time when in use? Synchrony closing this card caused my credit score to drop XXXX points flat out. Synchrony Bank harms consumers by closing accounts that aren't posing a risk to them and damages consumer credit worthiness for no reason. They actually did this previously to me with an old Lowe 's card. At the time that card also had a {$0.00} balance and Synchrony had cited that my credit score was " too low '' then closed the card and dropped my credit score even further. Synchrony harms Americans by closing open revolving cards that are not risky.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: On or around XX/XX/ I received an alert from my Financial institution that an attempt was made to change personal information on my account. ( not the account in dispute ). I called the bank and confirmed several unauthorized transactions were made. The next day I received messages from XXXX that orders had been made in my name, all using my Paypal line of credit through Synchrony Bank ( 4 in total ) I was able to resolve all but one of the unauthorized transactions my contacting the XXXX sellers directly and informing them that the purchases were fraudulent and requesting a refund. I was unable the resolve the one unauthorized transaction with the XXXX seller, who would not refund my money, I contacted Synchrony Bank to inform them of this unauthorized transaction, and opened a fraud claim. After about two weeks I received a letter that informing me that my claim had been denied with the reason being that " I authorized, participated in, or benefited from the purchase '', which is completely false. I called Synchrony Bank to inquire about their decision to deny my claim. The person I spoke with said they would submit the claim again and I provided additional informing them that I was the victim of identity theft, and requested to speak with the investigator who would be handling my claim. Two weeks later I received a letter from Synchrony Band informing me that the claim was being denied again for the same reason with an additional reason stating the the item was shipped to my address, which it was not. I never contacted by an investigator as I requested, and the claim was closed before I was given the opportunity to submit a Fraud Investigation Form which I received in the mail days after my claim had already been denied, not giving me the opportunity to provide information related to my claim.
