Consumer Complaint: I have been the subject of identity theft ( thwarted, thankfully ) for much of 2022. I recently applied for credit with Synchrony Bank for a SAM 'S CLUB credit card. I wasn't given immediate approval, and was told " more information was needed ''. I subsequently received a letter in the mail pointing me to a website to verify my identity. There, I took a 5 second selfie-video, and provided a picture of the front & back of my FL drivers license. Again, immediate approval was denied and was told I'd receive a decision in the mail. 7-10 days later I received that letter from Synchrony Bank denying my application for the following reason : " couldn't establish identity ''. I'm dumbfounded -- I provided an actual video of ME, along with state issued government identifcation?? So I responded to their letter asking them to re-open my application as I would be providing them with a multitude of acceptable identity verification documents TO REMEDY THEIR CONCERNS, which included copies of the following : passport, front/back of state issued drivers license, birth certificate, social security card, bank statement with current address, and one credit card showing my Name & Card Number. XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter back again stating they are denying my application due to " identity concerns ''. Specifically it mentions, " During the verification process we found conflicting information. In some cases, these types of discrepancies may indicate potential fraudulent use of your personal identity information ''. As most people do today, I use XXXX XXXX & XXXX XXXX to monitor my credit on a daily basis. I also am a subscriber to XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX XXXX and monitor my credit directly on their sites as well. I don't know what else I could provide to verify my identity in addition to the above mentioned documents? So what concerns me the most and brings me to your Bureau is " WHAT IS THE CONFLICTING INFORMATION THEY ARE SEEING THAT INDICATES POTENTIAL FRAUD USE OF MY IDENTITY '' that results in credit denial?. They refer to private databases that they utilize, which I'm not privy to and able to monitor. Normal denials of credit ( deliquency, score, debt ratio issue ) can be actually seen and understood, and subsequently fixed with appropriate course ( s ) of action. BUT I'm at a loss as to what my ACTUAL PROBLEM is, and have no idea how to fix with any type of appropriate action -- BESIDES THIS??? I'm concerned that If i apply for a more substantial line of credit in the future this could affect me in a more damaging and negative way as well. I'd like to address & fix the discrepancies Synchrony Bank refers to NOW before a time comes when I may need a new car/home. XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I owe a bill with Synchrony Bank. I was paying on time until I was unable to pay and I called to tell them and agreed to pay when able. I couldnt pay cause my mom was losing her house and went into ICU do to XXXX XXXX. They put it on my credit report anyway. They sent papers to my home and I called the rep. and they said it was paused. I told the rep I will pay, but was on XXXX and wasnt working. Now I have a judgment filed against me without them even reaching out to me. I just talked to a rep. last month and I agreed to pay what I owe. She told me that would not work for them. Now I have this judgment. This is not right. After covid they are bullying me when I kept in contact the whole time. They lied to me. I just started back working the end of XXXX XXXX. My house note is XXXX behind and doing my best to catch up. Please see attachment for date and amount. Thank you

Consumer Complaint: I had a CareCredit account issued by Synchrony Bank that was included in my XXXX. XXXX bankruptcy discharge. After receiving my discharge, I had applied for PayPal Credit which is also issued by Synchrony and was approved for a {$2300.00} limit. I was approved on XX/XX/22 and made XXXX purchase under the 6 months no interest option. Today on XX/XX/22, I login to my account just to see it is now closed. I chat with an associate online and they advised me that it was closed due to my history with Synchrony. If they were going to hold my CareCredit discharge against me, then why was I approved for an account only for it to be closed not even XXXX months later? This bank is very shady and I do not recommend anyone use them. There are many reviews/complaints that Synchrony randomly lowers credit limits and randomly closes accounts. I can understand if I got declined for including XXXX of their cards in my bankruptcy... but to approve me then close my account later on for my history is a poor business practice. So much for rebuilding my credit.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, I received communication that my account was closed despite it having a zero balance for several months and despite me never being late with the lender. I kept the account open to show positive on my credit report. Now with the unilateral creditor closure without any warning at all, will gravely affect my credit score. This is unfair for a regular American like myself, having XXXX children and trying to make the best of my life and my financial obligations which I never escape from. The creditor is Synchrony Bank for Care Credit. I had another account with them years ago and they closed it last time for none use. This time they closed it claiming low credit score and high balances. They do not know my situation and have no idea that my refinance which I have attempted 3 times in 3 different timeframes keep making hard inquiries that have costed me big for no reason at all. All a waste of time with each lender too. I am defeated with these creditors.

Consumer Complaint: I applied for an Ashley 's card finance through Synchrony on XX/XX/22 got approved for {$3900.00}. Ashley was so XXXX that I bought 2 items they were advertised for {$1900.00} a piece the sales man XXXX stated that he'll give me both pieces for {$1400.00} a piece. I'm like cool right. Wrong on line the sofa was {$1500.00} marked down to {$1100.00} and the love seat was {$1400.00} marked down to {$1300.00}. So original price less that what they stated they were giving me a deal for. Sent the sales man a text never responded back. Got the furniture on XX/XX/22 and the love seat was missing a piece. Called customer service and the rep stated that since I had an issue she was refunding the delivery fee back of {$220.00}. Cool so I drove to the store since the Sales man never responded back and showed him the ad. He got his manager involved, basically I was told that since the Sofa was delivered I couldn't get the {$300.00} difference back because all purchases were final, however he would give me the difference back for the Love Seat because it was an exchange. It took forever and a lot of foot work but final that went back to my Ashley 's card. That same Sales man sold me 3 barstools and loaded them into my car. Got home and one of the barstools was broken. Called him back and he basically stated all sales were final. This company is a rip off. No one has nothing good to say about Ashley 's except the quality is good but service is horrible. My disputes is it's XX/XX/XXXX and I still haven't received the delivery fee back. Customer service said they refunded it back to my Ashley card and Ashley card say they never received it, in which is true as my balance doesn't reflect.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2022, we used a Lowes credit card ( issued by Synchrony Bank ) to purchase several items. Two items totaled {$1600.00} ( and were interest-free for a specified period ) ; the other two totaled {$150.00} ( and were subject to interest ). The following week, and before receiving our first statement, we purchased several more items ( all of which were interest-free for a specified period ). We made one additional purchase ( XX/XX/XXXX ) for {$390.00}. On XX/XX/2022, we received our first statement and paid {$350.00}. Without notifying us, Synchrony allocated 100 % of the payment to the interest-free purchases. On XX/XX/XXXX, we paid {$390.00} ( to pay off the interest-bearing items ). Again without notifying us, Synchrony allocated 100 % of the payment to the interest-free purchases. We continued to make monthly payments by the due dates for XXXX and XXXX, each for {$320.00}. Because the interest-free purchases were subject to various durations ( e.g., XXXX mos., XXXX mos. & XXXX mos. ), we called Synchrony yesterday ( Saturday, XX/XX/XXXX ) to confirm our understanding was correct. That is when we ( my husband and I ) learned that Synchrony had applied 100 % of our payments to the XXXX interest items, and none to the other purchases. In fact, Synchrony said that, unless we paid ANOTHER {$430.00}, which together the payments we had already made ( {$1300.00} ) approximately doubled the total of the purchases subject to interest ( {$540.00} ), or it would continue to charge interest. Synchrony has refused to reverse any of the interest charges ( total {$58.00} ) because, it " said that is how it's system is designed '' to process payments.

XXXX ) : The charge for {$860.00} from XXXX car rental on or about XX/XX/2022 This rental was for a XXXX passenger SUV during busy Spring Break. We received a XXXX passenger SUV. We required rental of another vehicle to accommodate our party. XXXX would not settle this matter to my satisfaction. All documents were submitted to Synchrony Bank showing the additional rental, contract for a XXXX passenger SUV and pictures proving a XXXX-passenger vehicle was provided. This claim was denied by providing non material paperwork from the merchant. XXXX ) : Charge for {$68.00} from XXXX XXXX XXXX AZ. This was for an outdoor bench that was never delivered. I contacted the merchant for a tracking number and delivery date and no response was ever received. XXXX searches show this site is likely a scam, see the link below. XXXX XXXX XXXX Unbelievably, this claim was also denied and I have yet to receive paperwork indicating why. I called the dispute department and spoke with a supervisor named XXXX. She told me that the merchant provided a shipping label to prove shipment and the item doesnt have to be delivered. I asked for a tracking number, she stated the merchant could not provide XXXX and that I have to prove I didnt get the item. Not sure how to prove something DIDNT happen. This makes XXXX sense and when I tried reasoning with her, she hung up on me.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX I I formed synchrony that I was a victim of identity theft and my information had been compromised. I sent a police report, documents verifying my address and my identity. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX spoke to me about the situation. At the moment I had not obtained a police report copy. I asked if I should get XXXX for her and she responded, no. Well she informed me in a letter that my account number had been changed and that I was liable for that debt, because the items purchased were delivered to my home. I have been disputing this account because it simply is not mine, I am just waiting for trial so the judge assigned to my case can give me a legal letter which at that point I will hire an attorney to sue synchrony for the pain and suffering. On XX/XX/XXXX at XXXXXXXX XXXX synchrony illegally obtained money from my business checking account XXXX. The amount of XXXX they are now claiming the account is mine because I authorized its payment but this is inaccurate. Synchrony refuses to return my money and refuses to block and remove this fraudulent account. Please note that synchrony submitted information with the thiefs address in XXXX XXXX as my own, which proves that they have knowingly accepted the identity thief 's information, even after I had notified synchrony of the theft
