Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Problem with fees
Consumer Complaint: Fees accrue for late payment the day it is late - i.e. bill due XX/XX/XXXX, on XX/XX/XXXX late fee is applied. However, late fee is not added to balance until next billing statement, so you think you are paying full balance, but you have a late fee that hasn't shown on account yet, although it is already applied to account. So you think you have payed off card, but you still have a balance that is accruing interest - the late fee. Other cards I have, late fee is added to account when it is charged so if you pay your account late, you can pay late fee and be paid in full. In my opinion, this is done to accrue fees because many people don't get or see paper statements and do not realize they have a late fee accruing interest because you think you paid the account in full all be it late.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I saw a delinquent charge from Synchrony on my credit - credit sesame I contacted Synchrony on XX/XX/XXXX and I was told I shouldn't have been charged for a late payment which is what sent my account into delinquency. I paid Synchrony the delinquent late charge that I should've not have been charged because their malicious charge against my credit was holding stopping my approval for a house loan. Synchrony sent me a letter on XX/XX/XXXX the charges brought against my credit will removed from the three credit bureaus within 60 days. This collection agency 's predatory practices towards me as a consumer have caused me undue hardship by blocking my ability to be approved for a house loan. Is it not illegal for collection agencies to file against a consumer credit?

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I applied for SYNCHRONY Credit Card with SYNCHRONY BANK and was denied by an adverse action letter sent through postage. I have to admit I have been very ignorant of the Laws that protect consumers from discrimination like this. It has become very clear to me that financial institutions such as this one have no regard for the LAWs that protect consumers from such discrimination. I have offered a very simple solution to move forward with business as usual, but SYNCHRONY BANK has no intention of recognizing who I am as the soul signatory to the account ending in XXXX. I have also stated in my adverse action letters that I know in " FACT '' that I am the originator of credit. SYNCHRONY BANK is NOT providing me with credit, I am extending my credit to SYNCHRONY BANK which is coded in Title 15 sec.1691a ( b ). By accepting my application they have accepted trusteeship in a fiduciary obligation and I have yet to receive any benefit for their use of my private account information. I would like to add the definition of a Creditor : a person who, in the ordinary course of business, regularly participates in a credit decision, including setting the terms of the credit. The creditor includes a creditor assigner, transferee, or subrogee who participates. The term creditor also includes a person who, in the ordinary course of business, regularly refers applicants or prospective applicants to creditors, or selects or offers to select creditors to whom a request for credit may be made. A person is not a creditor regarding any violation of the act or this part committed by another creditor unless the person knew or had reasonable notice of the act policy or practice that constituted the violation before becoming involved in the credit transaction. THE TERM DOES NOT INCLUDE A PERSON WHOSE ONLY PARTICIPATION IN A CREDIT TRANSACTION INVOLVES HONORING A CREDIT CARD. Title 15 sec.1691a ( d ) The term " credit '' means the right granted by a creditor to a debtor to defer payment of debt or to incur debts and defer its payment or to purchase property or services and defer payment therefor. ( f ) The term " person '' means a natural person, a corporation, government or governmental subdivision or agency, trust, estate, partnership, cooperative, or association. Under the ( U.D.A.A.P ) Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts and Practices, this delay of benefits has caused monetary harm to my family and me by denying access to products and services that I the " applicant '' have in good faith applied for. Such discrimination could have been avoided by SYNCHRONY BANK if A representative from SYNCHRONY BANK would have and could have conducted a proper interview with me to further gather information to overturn this denial. SYNCHRONY BANK assumes I am incapable of managing my account/affairs based on misinformation provided by XXXX alone which is known for deceptive business practices and the CFPB has a record of that. I gave SYNCHRONY BANK ample time to correct their wrongs but to no avail have not answered any of the " Facts '' I have provided to them. All this information is Public Knowledge and can be researched, which would hold SYNCHRONY BANK under Title 15 sec. 1611 Criminal liability for willful and knowing violation

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: I began my relationship with Synchrony via Care Credit nearly XXXX years ago. At that time my credit report had the exact same things listed as it does now, other than my newer accounts. I used this account at my XXXX, paid on time, and paid the card off several times before the promotions ended. This card carried no balance and had for months. In XXXX I see that my account is closed. I never received anything about its closure so I reached out and was basically told theres nothing that could be done and they would send another letter. In this letter they listed the reasoning, which was no different when they extended credit nearly XXXX years prior and gave me a higher interest rate. The only extra excuse they gave was No first mortgage listed. So, during a housing crisis and soaring home prices, Synchrony feels that not having a mortgage is a reason for no longer extending credit ( because everything else is the same ). This hurt my credit badly. Now, in the last XXXX months they have dropped the spending limit on my Sams Club card, as well as my XXXX XXXX XXXX card for the same reasons. Again- no collections, no late payments, etc new on my credit since they extended credit to me. However now my credit ( according to them ) has dropped nearly XXXX points. I have pulled my XXXX scores and can not find the score they are using, which I assume is the XXXX XXXX XXXX ( most often used by credit card companies ). My XXXX XXXX score from XXXX isnt showing the same as what synchrony is citing. I also pulled my credit reports from all XXXX bureaus and can not find anything harmful recently that would adversely affect the decision made by synchrony to deny credit. All of my payments have been made on time and I had paid off my Sams and Care Credit multiple times. No other creditor has done this to me. Theyre harming my credit simply because I do not have a mortgage. All of these other potentially negative things were there PRIOR to the extension of credit. This is an unfair practice and I have read the comments of so many people that they have done this to also. Someone please investigate these unfair practices.

Consumer Complaint: My XXXX was purchased brand new in XXXX XXXX and Financed through Synchrony Bank XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, FL XXXX. Their payment address is : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX GA XXXX This bank has no online payment portal or website, does not take payments over the phone without a fee and now has NO PAYMENT Processing center. I sent my payment for XX/XX/XXXX to them on XX/XX/XXXX via XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX it was mailed to the XXXX XXXX in XXXX Because this company has no technology XXXXXXXX XXXX mails them a physical check. XXXX XXXX mailed the check for XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX to the GA XXXX XXXX XXXX On XX/XX/XXXX I noted the payment had not been cashed/cleared my bank account. On XX/XX/XXXX I called Synchrony @ XXXX and was told I needed to wait 7-10 business days. This was weird because usually Synchrony cashes it either the day its sent or the next day. My wife called them back on XX/XX/XXXX and was told that their payment processing center in GA ( address listed above in GA ) was unknowingly or surprisingly shut down and all payments had been routed to someplace in Texas. My wife has called them every day starting on XX/XX/XXXX to see if they had the payment. Today XX/XX/XXXX when she called, she was told that we need to wait for the checks to be caught up. They are trying to process thousands of checks, but this is not my problem. If we want to make a payment tomorrow ove the phone XX/XX/XXXX for our due date of XX/XX/XXXX it will cost us a Fee which they refuse to waive. They refuse to provide a new payment address and have left us almost to the point of not being able to make our payments let alone timely. We need help making sure payments are captured timely and posted timely. I find it very hard to believe that they had no forewarning about their payment processing center in GA being closed. I also find it hard to believe that they have NO OTHER WAY of accepting payments. They want to setup for direct XXXX withdraws from my checking account, but they can't even handle a paper check so I can't trust them on this. At this point my XXXX/XXXX payment is going to be late due to their ineptitude and they say they will waive fee 's but I doubt that as well.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I ordered a used phone from XXXX user name ; XXXX in the amount of {$710.00}. I received the phone and found it had a defective battery. The battery would lose power by the minute without use. I contacted the merchant he told me I could return if I paid the postage, he would reimburse me. I sent the phone back on XXXX XXXX. I used PayPal synchrony bank to pay the merchant. I have been a long time customer. The last four digits of my account number is XXXX. I contacted Paypal for the first time in XXXX for a reimbursement of my money. The first case was found in the favor of the merchant. On XX/XX/XXXX, the merchant said he had not received the phone. At that time I provided tracking number, I confirmed with my postmaster that the phone had reached his locked box in XXXX Hawaii on XXXX XXXX synchrony bank was supposed to do an investigation. That never happened. The first case was ruled in favor of the merchant saying he had not received the item. At that time I provided faxed emails from the merchant saying that he had received the phone and would pay me back. He did not want to pay me back the tax. I contacted synchrony bank to escalate the case. # XXXX upon investigating the second case, it was found in the merchants favor. They said I had provided a wrong tracking number. I called PayPal synchrony bank and spoke with XXXX a supervisor. She was able to verify the tracking number was indeed correct and that he had received the package. The supervisor, XXXX told me that there was all sorts of supporting evidence that she was looking at. I contacted the attorney generals office in New York State. The attorney general told me that he would be willing to refund some of the amount less the taxes. When I tried to contact him through an email he had blocked me and was no longer talking with me. therefore, I can not trust him to reimburse me. Period synchrony bank should have done their job. They should be the ones reimbursing me. I have now escalated the case for the third time. They have all the emails that confirm the merchant says he received the phone. I am XXXX XXXX XXXX and this has stopped me from shopping on XXXX or using PayPal since XXXX. My credit score has always fluctuated between XXXX and XXXX. I returned a defective item! at this point there should be no question as to whether I deserve a full refund of the money I spent. In the amount of {$710.00} I fear this is going to ruin my excellent credit rating. I can not tolerate that after having an excellent credit rating for over 30 years Best regards XXXX XXXX
