Consumer Complaint: I signed up for a CareCredit card through synchrony bank. At the time of signing up, I was very clearly told that as long as I paid off the purchase at the end of the 18 month promotional period, I would not be charged any interest on this card. I was then told, that all I needed to do was setup autopay, in which case it would pay the card off by the end of the promo period. I did this, and have been having automatic payments deducted for 18 months. However, I was told completely wrong by someone at the company who clearly had no idea what they were talking about. At the end of the 18 month period, I was charged {$1800.00} of interest on my original {$4200.00} purchase ( which was used for healthcare ). I contacted the company, telling them this was no right, and they told me that I am wrong about how their card works. But I was told by someone who works there how this card works, and was following their instructions! {$1800.00} is a crippling amount of money when it comes to my current financial situation, and I believe it to be completely unfair business practice. I believe I was falsely advertised to, and then was forced to pay money that I should not have owed. I really hope you can help me. And I appreciate your time very much!!

Consumer Complaint: Synchrony Home Customer Support XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, FL XXXX Dear Synchrony Home Customer Support, I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to request your assistance in resolving a recent issue regarding a late payment and negative credit reporting associated with my account. I have been a valued customer of Synchrony Home since XXXX, and I have always strived to maintain a good payment history with your company. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I encountered a significant challenge that affected my ability to make a timely payment. I contracted a documented case of XXXX, and as a result, I have been recovering from the illness over the past few weeks. This has caused a disruption in my usual routine and created financial difficulties during my recovery period. I would like to bring to your attention that federal laws, such as the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security ( CARES ) Act and subsequent legislation, have provided protections for individuals impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. These laws encourage understanding and flexibility in accommodating payment delays due to documented cases of illness. Additionally, the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) mandates that credit reporting agencies and creditors ensure the accuracy and fairness of credit reporting. In light of my extenuating circumstances, I kindly request that you reconsider the late fee associated with my account and remove any negative credit reporting that may have occurred as a result of this isolated incident. The FCRA encourages creditors to make reasonable accommodations for individuals facing temporary hardships beyond their control. I want to emphasize that I value my relationship with Synchrony Home and have always made timely payments in the past. As evidence of my commitment to resolving this matter, I recently made a payment of {$500.00} towards my account, and I plan to pay off the remaining balance in full before XX/XX/XXXX. Considering my situation and the applicable federal laws, I kindly request your understanding and assistance in resolving this matter. If necessary, I am more than willing to provide any additional documentation or information that may support my case further. I hope we can find a solution that is mutually beneficial and preserves our positive business relationship. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response and a satisfactory resolution. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX Last 4 of SSN : XXXX XXXX or XXXX New Phone Number : XXXX

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I filed a dispute trough all three credit bureaus -- XXXX, XXXX and XXXX -- regarding my now-closed Synchrony Bank Amazon Store Secured Credit Card on or around XX/XX/XXXX. I stated that this account is more than seven years old and therefore too old to be on my credit report. When Synchrony Bank responded to the dispute, they incorrectly reported that the account status is " 60 days past due. '' This is not possible. This account was closed with a XXXX balance in XXXX. When Synchrony Bank responded to the credit report disputes, they incorrectly reported that this account status is " 60 days past due, '' which has not adversely affected my credit score and ability to obtain credit. This account is closed and paid in full. Also, it can not have a current account status of " 60 days past due '' because the account is closed. Furthermore, the account never went 60 days past due, so this is even more incorrect. There are two errors here : The account was never 60 days past due and the current account status is being reported incorrectly as 60 days past due. The account status and derogatory account information must be updated and corrected. Finally, the payment history on this account never once shows that this account ever went 60 days past due. So, it's impossible for this account to be reported currently as 60 days past due. I have included screen shots directly from my XXXX credit file to substantiate my claims.
