Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: During a visit to the TJ Max store located in XXXX, DE, I applied for a TJX Rewards Platinum Mastercard. A few weeks later the card arrived in the mail. I called the customer service number to activate the card. However, the 3 digit security code was very small and at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, my eye sight isn't what it used to be. The customer servicer rep became very agitated and told me they couldn't activate the card. A supervisor got on the phone and began implying that I was a fraudster. I immediately cut-up the card. Afterwards I started receiving bills. The 1st one for {$60.00}, then {$100.00}, and finally, I recently received one for {$120.00} on XX/XX/23. I have never used this card! I have called multiple times to speak to them and ask them what was the charge for that they are sending me bills? Do they not have an obligation to describe the item they claim you purchased and owe them money? On of my calls to customer service, I was advised that they would report a fraudulent charge. My most recent attempt to obtain information about why they continue to send me a bill which keeps increasing took place XX/XX/23. I was on the phone for almost 2 hours. They kept transferring me to multiple individuals who made me wait several minutes before transferring me to another person. Finally, after requiring me to take selfie pictures of myself to prove I was the account holder, they simply said they were not able to tell me any information about why I had an account balance. It seems obvious to me now that this company has no idea how the charges accrued to the account and are themselves committing fraud and elder financial exploitation. I ask that these charges be immediately reversed, the account permanently closed, and any credit card delinquency reporting be immediately rescinded.

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: I went to Lowes to get something to fix my bathroom. When i went to the register and switched my card it declined. I told them that I make all my payments on time and there is a mistake. They advised me to call the credit department, to my surprise I was told by a rep. that my card was closed. I asked who authorized them to close my account. They stated because I wasn't using it, they closed it. I was very upset at that time. Then I was thinking I has a balance at that time, and I was making all my payments on time. Now my credit is being affected because they are reporting that I have been late on a closed account that they took up on themselves to close. It is affecting me so bad that I can't even refinance my vehicle to get lower payment. This is really embarrassing and affecting my life in a very bad way.
