Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: My Sams credit card issued by Sychrony Bank was closed because of fraudulent charges made on my account. The bank resolved the issue and settled the claim. After the account was closed, new charges which I did not make were added to the account which as of yet still have not been identified to me. I have had several frustrating phone conversations with the company regarding the issue. They continue to add interest and I finally sent a certified letter to CEO Sychrony bank dated XX/XX/2023. A signed return receipt was received and to date, XX/XX/XXXX, I have received nothing but letters harassing me about payment with no investigation taking place.

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I made a payment for the full balance owed. However, Venmo Credit Card sent me a message stating that there was an error and the payment did not go through. When I tried again, the payment went through for the full balance. However, Venmo Credit Card took TWO payments, even though it sent me a message that the first payment did not go through. Venmo refused to cancel the duplicate transaction and said I had to wait 7 to 10 days for a refund check, which I did not receive. I had to call again today, and now they are saying I have to wait another 7 to 15 days. Venmo refuses to refund my money promptly or pay interest for holding my money without authorization. Meanwhile, if that were a balance I owed, I would have to pay interest to Venmo. I never authorized the duplicate payment. Because of Venmo 's error, it should have cancelled any duplicate payment that it charged, or otherwise if it had to send a check, then it should be overnighted to my address. I should not have to wait a month for a refund of money that I never authorized Venmo to take. Additionally, Venmo should pay me 29 % interest for the time it held my money without my authorization, as that is the percentage Venmo charges its customers.

Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Difficulty submitting a dispute or getting information about a dispute over the phone
Consumer Complaint: Synchrony Bank Mills fleet farm This account was set for auto payments. It was never taken off auto payments. For whatever reason, synchrony Bank removed it from auto payment and never contacted me. There were no statements sent and there were no phone calls made. I reached out to synchrony about this and they gave me the runaround and we're supposed to send me after 30 days following my complaint and dispute documentation. They never did. I reached out again and they told me 45 days every time I'd call they tell me it would be another 15 to 30. I actually had my mortgage lender reach out as well to document these calls with us. I reached out over 12 times and they would never let me speak with anyone to go over my account. They kept telling me that they were going to send me a decision via mail. They never did. When speaking with them they acknowledged that no one had ever called me letting me know that I had a past due balance. I never received any mail stating I owed a past due balance. They said that it was abnormal to not have received a phone call. In addition, they charged off the account in 18 months. And never contacted me about this either. I didn't even know anything about this until I went to purchase a home. I have paid every single one of my bills on time my entire adult life. My other accounts with synchrony have impeccable payment history. I believe that they charged this account off during the covid relief. It is abnormal for an account to get charged off in less than 2 years. Especially without contacting the account holder. I would also like the letter that I was promised in writing 3 years ago stating what they found in their investigation. I said I'd be happy to pay them the {$800.00} that they never contacted me about if they would remove it off my credit and they said absolutely not. It was already charged off.
