Consumer Complaint: I am having a very difficult time with SPS Select Portfolio Servicing. We have tried to apply for a modification, but have had a very difficult time. Every time we call SPS we get different answers and they always seem to lose the paperwork we fax and email to them. We were never able to communicate, which always caused problems. I am XXXX years old and my wife if XXXX years old. I had a XXXX in 2017 which cause a medical hardship and caused me to missed payments. With the help of my family, we are over the hardship and can afford our mortgage. We are both on SSI and I have a pension that can afford the monthly payment.

Consumer Complaint: Back in 2008 when US economy went upside down due to banking unregulated methods ( XXXX XXXX etc ... ) I lost my home and a business. I lost ability to pay my obligations. I owned home on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX XXXX FL XXXX financed by XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX . XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX took bailout money paid by us taxpayers and walked away laughing. I tried to short sell the home and set up pay-off of the debt. XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX declined 6 short sales and declined to even talk to me about other ways to pay off my loan. Years have passed by and XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX didn't foreclose on me in legal manner ( I believe there is statue of limitation of 5 years in State of Florida ) and sometime later on they sold my loan pennys on a dollar to XXXX XXXX XXXX collection agency. After that agency was sued by small lawyer for wrongdoing they than sold it to present collection agency XXXX XXXX XXXX company. XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX, XXXX, TX XXXX. Phone XXXX This company is constantly harrasing me with phone calls without message ( mute calls ) and monthly letters threatning me with legal actions. They also, are ruining my credit report. It is over 10 years since I incurred debt that XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX abandoned as all wealthy and company do knowing no one will hound them though they are the one who ruined hard working people like me. I am asking for help as it is mentally draining to wait each month for the same scenario. Consumer Complaint: I am for the third time asking for assistance in ending the harassment of still another mortgage agency. This same mortgage company is currently being forced through settlement, to correct other actions against its customers. I was pushed and my account brought by Select Portfolio Servicing , Inc. as a third or maybe even a fourth company that, instead of the previous mortgage company correcting the errors, forced my account into another of the circle of loan sharks. Time line : I was previously forced to pay over {$1900.00} by XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX and they were supposed to mark my account current. I requested help from CFPB then. Instead of marking my account current they sold my account to Select Portfolio Servicing , Inc. ( after receiving the forced payment of over {$1900.00} sent to XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, IL XXXX as requested on the letter ) I paid another {$1000.00} in XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX ( I continuously paid monthly over the {$930.00} amount required ). I received the transfer letter that my account would be transferred with the first payment to be made in XX/XX/XXXX. Although I spoke with the new company ( Select Portfolio Servicing , Inc. ), and they reassured me that the same harassment would not happen again. THEY DID THE SAME THING. I was transferred in XX/XX/XXXX and already paid XXXX the {$1900.00} to become current per their letter. The account was, instead of marked current, sold to Select Portfolio Servicing , Inc. after my last payment in XX/XX/XXXX of {$1000.00} and with an unapplied amount of {$290.00} still left in my XXXX account. As of XX/XX/XXXX, after receiving the transfer letter, I paid Select Portfolio Servicing , Inc. {$640.00} as requested because the representative combined the {$290.00} from XXXX in my unapplied funds account to make a complete first payment of {$930.00}. I have made every payment on every month since that time so HOW IS IT THAT SELECT PORTFOLIO SERVICING, INC. PLACED MY ACCOUNT LATE/DELINQUENT TWO PAYMENTS AND CHARGING MY ACCOUNT CONTINUOUS LATE FEES TOTALING {$950.00} I WAS CHARGED A LATE FEE OF {$390.00} ON THE DATE I MADE THE FIRST PAYMENT. I made a payment in full every month since being pushed into this company. I just recently received a letter letting me know about a settlement which was reached against Select Portfolio Servicing , Inc. XXXX : XXXX, and that I, as others, were entitled to a workshop to meet with representatives at a very far location, ( XXXX XXXX , NJ ). It is a one day event to talk about loan assistance options. I dont need assistance with forced errors or a new loan ; I just want them to correct these errors so I can continue to pay this loan off or either forgiveness of the whole loan in its entirety. This is the THIRD attempt to receive help from CFPB. Consumer Complaint: I had to chose something for " What describes your problem '', to move forward.That is not my problem.Select portfolio is at it again. Yesterday I was contacted by one of their debt collectors looking for payment. I advised the person that I had submitted ALL the documentation needed ( required ) to " ask for some help '' ( deferment ). I was laid off XX/XX/XXXX. This debt collector was unprepared for this ( they just called to collect ). After 5 minutes I got very irate as the person started saying things that weren't correct. I faxed everything I was told as needed for help on the XX/XX/XXXX. My bank statements, the acceptance letter, a quit claim deed ( showing my wife transferred ownership to me ), proof of residency and the 4506 t. First I was told SPS had received only 2 documents? It goes downhill from there. The debt collector did find all the documents but that's not my complaint. The person ; after making many miss statements, told me that my last correspondence with SPS was on XX/XX/XXXX. The person I spoke to on XX/XX/XXXX asked me if I " wanted to discuss the documents needed '' and I said NO. Not true. This debt collector then recanted and said I was told by so and so what documents to send. The debt collector confirmed the documents were received the next day. Now I'm told I need to resend additional documents ; " one not mentioned to me in the past '' ( copy of my XX/XX/XXXX tax extension ). I alerted this person that in a past phone call I alerted SPS I had filed an extension. I was told by a prior debt collector, '' no problem just send the XX/XX/XXXX''. Why does the XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX returns even matter? I'm asking for help because of unemployment now. Prior tax information is not relevant At the end it got funny. This debt collector said Oh well I called you because you wanted help. I said NO you called me to collect payment. Enough said? The same XXXX still goes on. I provided overwhelming proof of my current situation but SPS is intent on hassling people. Ironically the day before I received a letter from SPS as why they couldn't move forward. I needed additional documents. Nothing about needing the XX/XX/XXXX extension.You would think from XX/XX/XXXX until yesterday XX/XX/XXXX : ONE someone could have called me and TWO the process would still " would have been held up '' as the letter I received did not ask for the XX/XX/XXXX tax extension info...

Consumer Complaint: I applied for a loan modification today and SPS would not talk to me about the modification. The representative stated that he referred my account to a foreclosure attorney. SPS is practicing dual tracking. This is illegal and I think that SPS is doing this to me because Im XXXX XXXX. My constitutional rights have been violated. I would like to be offered a modification l like the other XXXX people in my neighborhood. Also, please know that my home is tied up in litigation and thus SPS can not foreclose on my house.

Consumer Complaint: Select Portfolio Servicing has opened an escrow account charging outrages fees and charges. My original mortgage did not have a escrow in my mortgage loan documents in XX/XX/XXXX. Since this company is the 3rd or 4th to purchase or service my mortgage I've repeatedly called to get these excessive charges and escrow account fees, and escrow stopped and refunded. Each time I called them over two years I get a different missleading, answer. This week I spoke with three different people, three different answers.. One supervisor even said I don't have an escrow, when two other representatives told me I do in previous conversations during the same call. This same company placed lender based insurance and flood insurance at an excessive monthly amout ... XXXX flood and XXXX homeowners, doubling my payment I was struggling to make. In XX/XX/XXXX I got a homeowners insurance and after numerous calls to Select Portfolio I was assured the day I uploaded the policy the XXXX would not be charged to my account - it is now XX/XX/XXXX and the have not removed the Lender based homeowners policy cost, they're explanation is now that they paid it quarterly and will continue to charge me, even after they guaranteed me this charge would quit ... How can a company charge me when I have coverage, and an excessive amount that makes my XXXX mortgage over 700.00 monthly. With each added cost, an escrow they put on my mortgage. Adding excessive charges they are setting leaders up for foreclosure. Each explication is different, theyre praying on poor people and my payments could be more manageable if they couldn't charge me for quarterly lender bases insurance. If I was informed during any of my conversations I would of and could of waited the quarter out and paid them, not paying twice ... .. They purposely mislead you, they even charged me in the past for taxes in this supposed escrow that I paid. I had to call and call, and fight and argue with this company for over two years to keep my home.. at this time I'm just two weeks late on one payment and they had a payment arrangement and still threatened me with default, and added additional charges in the escrow ... Each time I request they review my loan documents They want me to supply them ... I will not, this company should have the ability to look at a loan they are servicing, and follow the loan. I have repeatedly called and requested this, through this company, the past loan servicer XXXX and the one before. Until this month for many years I have struggled to keep my home, I now have a better paying job and will soon be caught up. Except for all the added Charges. I want the escrow removed I don't think it's legal to charge me Leander based homeowners for months I had coverage,XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX. The sent me a letter, the flood ins charge was supposed to be XXXX, they are charging me XXXX why? Fees, charges, fees, charges, escrow amount all this has doubled my mortgage and quickly forces me in default before I got my new job. They are rude, misleading, and seem like a bookie, charging me excessive amounts to set me up for them to own my home
