Consumer Complaint: Select Port Folio Over the past two years or longer, I have sent almost on a weekly basis, what I thought were the correct documents to Select Pot Folio for a loan modification. I have a stack of repeated faxes I have sent. There are those who joked at me because I weekly repeatedly faxed the same documents to Select PortFolio, with the same results. Their response is a rejection. The payroll department at XXXX XXXX University particularly, XXXX XXXX the payroll manager, was just as frustrate as I was. After repeated submissions of the same documents. I was repeatedly asking her for proof of income and employment. Even after phoning time after time after time to Select, I was told, send in proof of income and employment. On XX/XX/XXXX, with my permission, I connected Select Port Folio with my payroll department director XXXX XXXX. She talked with Select, and after some time of back and forth conversation, specifically asking, what would it take to satisfy proof of my employment, because the previous payroll stubs were rejected she was told the documents were rejected because they didnt contain the words, year-to-date on the paystubs. Mrs. XXXX then explained that our payroll system didnt print those words. While Select was still on the phone, she called the Payroll Home office in XXXX North Carolina, who verified that our system didnt print the words, year-to-date. At no time in this two year process, did Select Port Folio tell me, or the payroll department, that the words year-to- date needed to be on the paystub or why modification was being denied. They only said, we need proff of income. Upon suggesting a letter from XXXX XXXX on the Universities letterhead, Select agreed to accept as proof of employment and income, but later refused the letter. In addition, to verify income, I was asked to send monthly pay stubs on several occasions, and another time twelve months of pay stubs, but once again they were rejected and I was told to resend. I had generate every document asked, but was still told, we need two months, three months or how many ever months ; only to be told the same thing again. I was told, we need the same documents again because they didn't have the information asked for. I even sent my entire XXXX income taxes, but that didnt satisfy as proof of income. In XX/XX/XXXX, we received a letter indication our home would be foreclosed on in XXXX that next month. Once agin we thought the correct documents were in and we would receive a modification. On Friday before the first Tuesday in XXXX, I filed a Chapter XXXX, just to stop Forecloser. Once released in XXXX Select sent another letter to forclose. When I called I was told Select decided not to forclose but said they would notify my loan. I thought that was good news, only to received a letter to forclose on XX/XX/XXXX. When I called and asked why were they going to forclose, I was told because was only give five days to make my first modified payment. I was never told. Then, instead of modifying the loan, they almost doubled my payment. which Because I didnt make the new doubled amount in the first five days of the month I was given a third forclose date on XX/XX/XXXX. I am in this position because my income was reduced from {$1500.00} a month to well under {$1000.00} a month. As an XXXX XXXX, Im paid based on how many students I have. In the Summer of XXXX I was offed a class with four XXXX, which placed my income around {$160.00} a month. In the Fall of XXXX, I was not offered any classes. After receiving funds as a gift, we paid over {$13000.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. When I called to verify Select receiving the funds, and did this catch us up, I was told, not sure if this catches you up, because there might be additional charges such as lawyers fees. In XXXX when I called back to check again, I was told my payment would be {$410.00} a month. Then, I received a letter later saying my payment was over {$700.00}. When I called inquiring I was told, after being placed on hold while the person was checking to confirm the correct amount, said, the {$410.00} was correct, and sometimes we make mistakes on our paperwork. Last week, XXXX. I received a letter indication my payment was XXXX plus an additional {$300.00} which was not explained, just stated other charges. During the summer of XXXX, my payment went up {$82.00}. When I asked why, I was told because my escrow was low. When making a payment, they will not receive any less than {$500.00}, even if {$410.00} is submitted. How can a servicing agency just decide they can increase payments, when they are only the servicing company? This has been two years of extreme stress upon my family. In addition of the loss of over {$1000.00} a month income, the unnecessary submission of the same documents, because of a lack of communication on the part of Select PortFolio. The stress, anxiety and uncertainty of the possibility of loosing your home, and no where to live. Oh, I forgot to also tell how Select told me they would help us if we selected their, Cash for Keys program. This is a program that will give you up to {$10000.00} to help you relocate. Sounds good, but as they say, if any holes are in the wall, they reduce the amount. After further inquiries, I found out that a hole is when you the owner removes his refrigerator or washing machine. We thought modification could and would help us. We thought Select Portfolio was there too assist and help people. It appears their interest is to help those they represent. Im sharing this because Im sure there are others who have experienced the same. At least Ive heard horror stories from others that have had bad experiences with Select Portfolleo. Im contacting news agencies, government regulative agencies and others so others will not be a victim of behind the scenes undermining tactics. On this week, XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter that my payment is {$500.00}, when It was modified to {$410.00} which I was told. They have put so much stress on already a stressful situation. Do I have a legal Civil case for what they have put us through? In XXXX increased payment. Holding funds over a week. Sending a letter to draft but dont. Continue stress on me and my wife. XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I refinanced my mortgage via an MHA modification in XXXX, making all my trial plan payments on time. The original lender was XXXX XXXX XXXX. I never missed a payment. In XX/XX/XXXX, I was laid off and my wife and I fell behind on our payments in XXXX of XXXX. Select Portfolio Servicing requested paperwork to attempt a modification which we provided and the servicer almost immediately declined the modification in XX/XX/XXXX, claiming that it could no longer be modified. Because it was modified previously in XXXX, a loan that SPS did not originate. I was able to get back to work and resume making payments in XXXX of XXXX, but I could only make one payment a month. In XX/XX/XXXX, my wife left me and filed for divorce, taking my son with her. Now I am faced with foreclosure. My wife and I made over 84 straight payments, I lost my job for 6 months, we missed 4 payments and now I can lose my house. SPS strategically and unethically denied my modification request and did not offer forebearance or any other method where I could have kept my home.

Consumer Complaint: My mortgage has been sold three times over the past 3 years, and in each instance the mortgage holder refuses to report my monthly payments have been paid on time. As a result I have no FICO score which prevents me from securing home improvement, automobile or major appliance purchases. My current mortgage holder is Select Portfolio Services and all they do is give me a runaround regarding this issue. I feel that it is be done deliberately since the interest rate is at 6.25 % and not having a FICO score also prevents me from refinancing at a lower rate. It is my belief they are holding me hostage and preventing me from finding a better rate with a local bank. Finally, it must also be noted that I have no outstanding student loans, I possess no credit cards or credit card debt, no automobile loans or any other personal loans or financial obligations whatsoever!

The mortgage was paid in full in XXXX including the ridiculous accrued interest Charges. Now they tell me it was not actually interest.
