Issue: Getting a loan or lease
Subissue: Credit denial
Consumer Complaint: I applied for a {$10000.00} auto loan at PNC Bank where I have a checking account on XX/XX/XXXX in good faith to purchase one of two XXXX XXXX vehicles that were recently advertised by a XXXX dealership in XXXX, California and a private party in XXXX XXXX, Arizona. Less than 5 minutes after I left the bank to go by to my work location at XXXX XXXX XXXX I received an email notification that my application had been rejected. When I called the bank the next day the employee at the bank claimed that the bank had done their " due diligence '' when coming to a decision to deny my loan application. I am XXXX XXXX XXXX and collect Social Security while working full-time at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I believe my age played a role in my loan application being denied. There are no records of any soft or hard inquiries from PNC Bank for the month of XX/XX/2023 when I applied for a loan. My disdain for this bank and its disrespect towards me should not be tolerated and now executives from the bank are trying to contact me to talk about what happened and the way I was treated. This is no way to treat loyal customers.

Why is this not discrimination against the XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX told me the same. This type bank policy forces some XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX to seek service from private loan companies who charge ridiculous interest rates that XXXX recipients can not afford.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2023 I received an email that my account was over draft to find out that a Merchant used an old debit card that I lost for payment. I lost my debit card and it is not the first time this year, I lost my debit card around XXXX times, I have a head injury and lose things at times, I am XXXX. I should not have to explain this however that is my XXXX issue, I should not be condemned for it. However PNC allowed a Merchant who had my old card use to pay for services as the account was no longer on hold. I gave the Merchant my card only for a deposit for {$50.00} and after I return the car I suppose to have the {$50.00} returned which the car is returned. PNC is now in an issue that they did not have to any business to be involve in however violated my rights to allow a Merchant to gain access to my account after my debit card was lost. Now I am in fear that other Merchants can do the same. The PNC customer service manager called me last night as if I was a child and it made me so angry as she was passive aggressive speaking down to me. She was not empathtic to my needs however insenstive, stating, when we send you the documents please send it back to us in a childish tone. PNC bank has no business authorizing anything without my permission and when it was explain to me the hold was drop when I rent the car how you going to allow the Merchant to go into my account!! They changed the policies and rules ; and PNC bank is unethical,

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/23 my daughter, XXXX XXXX, age XXXX, and I went to the PNC ATM on XXXX XXXX, XXXX, PA where she attempted to deposit {$140.00} cash into her student checking account, of which I am part owner. The ATM machine malfunctioned during the transaction and kept {$80.00} and spit out {$60.00}. We immediately called the PNC customer service line and were told the issue would take XXXX business days to resolve. This is unacceptable as my daughter was depositing the funds to use for XXXX shopping! On XX/XX/23 we called the branch directly and spoke with XXXX, explained the situation, and asked if they would check the machine that day and return the funds. She was not helpful, not understanding or compassionate. I asked to speak to a manager and she said no one was available and she said a dispute would be filed and it could take two weeks to be resolved and there is not a guarantee that the money would be returned to my daughters checking acct. At that point I told her I was extremely disappointed in PNC and they needed to escalate this to a higher level because it seems as though they are just taking advantage of a child at this point. No one cared to give this matter any attention since she was not an important customer to them. I told her I would out this situation on my social media so that others were warned to not deposit cash into that ATM or they would potentially lose their money. Later that day ( XX/XX/23 ) I received a call from XXXX XXXX who said he was calling because I threatened to 'go to the media ' with my concern. I explained the situation and he said he would get back to me on XX/XX/23. That day came and went and no call or email from him came. That evening I emailed and said that I would be filing a complaint with the CFPB. On XX/XX/23 he called and said that there would be a complimentary credit made to the checking account of {$80.00}. He asked if I would still go forward with filing the complaint. Obviously, this resolution was expedited as PNC did not want a complaint filed. I am extremely disappointed in PNC and am filing this in hopes that the process will change and a customer will not be out cash money again due to the failure of their equipment.
