Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX my spouse was victim of a XXXX scam through PNC online banking. I was t there when it happened but I called our bank immediately. They refused to reverse the charges- there were five separate XXXX transfers ( total of {$1000.00} ) out of our checking account. I changed the user name and password on the online banking account. I filed dispute the next day and on XX/XX/XXXX they denied the dispute. I went to the branch office today and they said it was denied because payment was made out of the same location. I argued there is no way we would authorize five XXXX amounts and perhaps the phone or online account was hacked. She agreed to file a complaint. I was then told theyre going to close our account! I called a number they gave me and she said all she can do is have someone call me Back regarding keeping our account open.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, So, I have had a PNC Financial bank account now reporting on my credit report for almost 7 YEARS!!! I have tried everything in my power to have this account removed as it is not mine. I don't remember ever having PNC, and i've been banking with XXXXXXXX XXXX for years. I've tried disputing the account, hiring credit repair agencies and even calling the bureaus and PNC themselves. i've talked to everyone from a customer service rep to those in corporate. I even email the CEO and his assistant to which that got me a response, but no help. I give PNC my social, they can't look me up in the system or find me or the account, yet they tell me i am liable and responsible. This account has 5 late payments on my report which have devastated and crushed my credit. I am at my wits end and all i want is this to be removed. I have so many PNC employee phone numbers, it is sick and i've waisted countless hours. I don't know what else to do. It is not my account, and i'll tell you what. I was considering banking with them and switching, but never would i ever do that now.

Consumer Complaint: Around the XXXX of XXXX I went to PNC bank for a deposit at the drive thru. The manager/teller took it upon herself to verify a cashier 's check without my knowledge. I was in the drive thru for almost thirty minutes, so I decided to walk in and check on what was the issue since there was no courtesy of updating me. The manager/teller purposely gave me incorrect information saying that checks from a particular company have to be verified first. Moreover, after verifying the check she made the deposit, the very next day all of my accounts were blocked and restricted. I was told its nothing I could do with my accounts being under investigation for thirty days. Today is XX/XX/2023, all of my accounts have been closed except the very one that I deposited the cashier 's check into. In addition, I was told that I will not receive funds from that account, and they are working with regions bank to facilitate a return. As a consequence, I have four businesses that were without funds for thirty days and I have to repossess a vehicle after a customer gave me a verified cashier 's check. I am very frustrated and confused after doing business with PNC bank for years.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2023, I contacted PNC to close my mortgage escrow account. I received a letter from PNC, dated XX/XX/2023, approving my request to close the escrow account. They mailed me a consent form that I was required to sign and mail back, and they asked for a fee ( {$69.00} ) to close the account. I signed and mailed the consent form back to PNC, and wrote to them that I would not pay a fee to close my escrow account, as the account itself currently has a positive balance, and there is no reason that they should charge me a fee to close it. I suspect that in requiring a fee to close my escrow account, PNC may be engaging in illegal business practices. This is the first time that a mortgage company has ever asked me for a fee to close an escrow account, and I find it highly suspect. In addition, I find the process required for closing the account, which involves paperwork being mailed back and forth, unnecessarily cumbersome, and in sharp contrast to industry best practice, which is for an escrow account closure to occur 100 % electronically. I suspect that in keeping the process paper-based, PNC hopes to discourage its customers from closing their escrow accounts. This may be legal, but it is certainly very unsavory. To date, I have not heard back from PNC. My escrow account has not been closed, nor has the balance refunded to me, despite PNC having received my signed consent form.

Consumer Complaint: I have a Loan from PNC bank and payments and account was set up by PNC banker. It has been more than 2 years that bank has not issued me any statement. No access to past statements and online account has been locked in such a way that I can not see my statements. Payments have been set up through another account from PNC which was set up by banker itself. No changes can be seen or modified. Although payments were set up as automatic deduction and my loan amount instead of going down, its going up. I have requested customer service contacted them more than 5 times to ask the same details and each time I ended up spending minimum XXXX + hours without any conclusion. No statements have been issued and no support had any success to access my account. I suspect, bank is manipulating loan amount by keep me out of approach to the crucial information which they should have disclosed to me from the beginning. I have even tried going to the local branch and yet they were not able to access completely and they have suggested me to contact phone customer service. My accountant requires all those statements for tax purpose and I have a feeling that PNC bank is manipulating financial data by keeping me off the records. I need help as I can't get help from the bank and it is my right to see all my records of all my payments and their adjustments. Bank is taking a full control of my loan and associated documents. Please help me to get PNC bank on track so that I can see what I have been paying for, for past XXXX years and how are the funds applied to the loan amount.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was already discharged in bankruptcy and is no longer owed
Consumer Complaint: I am writing to register a formal complaint against PNC XXXX XXXX, located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX, PA XXXX, for their alleged violation of the discharge injunction of my bankruptcy. On XX/XX/2020, I received a discharge of my debt obligations from the XXXX XXXX of New York. Despite this legally binding discharge, PNC XXXX XXXX has unrelentingly persisted in their collection activities against me. They have subjected me to undue harassment, including threats of seizing my home and personal assets if I did not adhere to their demand for payment. The intensity of this situation was further amplified by the ongoing XXXX pandemic, during which I was compelled to continue these payments. As a retiree on a limited income, these threats have placed an immense burden on me, both emotionally and financially. Out of fear and to preserve my assets, I felt coerced into making payments that, according to my understanding of the discharge order, I was no longer legally obligated to pay. Since receiving my discharge, I have personally made payments totaling {$210000.00}. These payments were facilitated with the financial support of my family, adding additional strain on them as well. Despite these considerable payments and clearing the balance with XXXX XXXX XXXX, a Commercial Collections XXXX at PNC XXXX XXXX, the harassment did not cease. In fact, they have begun to demand additional payment for late fees and other charges that, to the best of my understanding, are unjustified and unwarranted. The undue emotional stress and financial hardship this has imposed on me, particularly given my status as a retiree and the ongoing global pandemic, have been significant. I trust that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau will address this serious concern promptly and ensure PNC XXXX XXXX 's compliance with the law. I am prepared to provide any additional information required for this investigation, and I eagerly anticipate your timely response in resolving this matter. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
