Issue: Fees or interest

Subissue: Problem with fees

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, I mailed 4 checks, two of which went to credit card companies [ PNC and XXXX XXXX ]. The non-credit card payments arrive and cleared. Unbeknownst to me, the credit card payments did not. When I finally realized the checks had not cleared, I called both places. I am making arrangements for payment. I am also asking for late fees and negative credit report info to be removed. What do I need from you? PLEASE monitor if this is happening to others. Are banks " not receiving '' payment so they can boost the bottom line with late fees and higher interest rates? One bank is understandable. Two banks is absolutely fishy. Please keep an ear out and maybe alert media outlets about a possible problem. Thank you.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Account information incorrect

Consumer Complaint: PNC receives my mortgage payment every month, but sometimes it has been late. I have attempted to get the due date changed by PNC, and PNC has refused to change it. Now it has put an inaccurate balance of more than XXXX on my credit report for late fees. Again, my mortgage is paid every month and PNC is simply refusing to work with me to change the due date and now it is purposely trying to ruin my credit. Indeed, during the 2019 Federal Shutdown, PNC refused to work with me on paying the mortgage late even though I was not receiving a salary and the Federal Government guidance was to forego late fees and not to implicate my credit reports. PNC ignored Federal guidance.

Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I filled out a 3 hour application with PNC Bank for help with a few Mortgage payments. I received a letter a week later then got a call this morning XX/XX/XXXX XXXX. I heard that most mortgage company 's were basically allowing you to push back your payments for 3 months while not earning money due to Covid19. The PNC rep told me that there was no help for XXXX and XXXX but a forbearance would start in XXXX XXXX and XXXX. I asked about XXXX and XXXX since I needed help now and was told those payments are due. She also explained that those missed payments had to be made up they had to be paid back but not all at once. I have not received any money from any agency as of XX/XX/XXXX I cant pay the mortgage right now. My Mortgage is currently past due for XXXX in the amount of {$2500.00}.

Issue: Closing an account

Subissue: Company closed your account

Consumer Complaint: My Grandmother is XXXX and in assisted living. My father is her financial power of attorney and has access to her three bank accounts to handle her financial affairs and cover her living costs as she is no longer able to do so. All three of her accounts were with PNC Bank, two checking accounts and one savings account. She receives her monthly social security check to her savings account monthly. This monthly income is used for her assisted living expenses. PNC bank WITHOUT notice closed her savings account in XX/XX/2020. We had received her XX/XX/2020 statement and there was monthly activity, the most recent being on XX/XX/2020. We have tried to reach out to PNC and get an answer as to why her account was closed. We were unable to get through to a person that could give us a clear answer or help set up a new savings or help us connect her social security to one of her checking accounts so she may receive her monthly direct deposit. This is not the first issue we have had dealing with PNC bank. A few years ago we used their business banking for our family 's small business and due to their extreme lack of care for anything other than deducting monthly fees from our accounts we closed our business accounts and have tried to have minimal contact with them. I have contacted PNC through their XXXX page and again received zero assistance for their mistake regarding the closed savings account. Their XXXX page is riddled with complaints from their customers and their responses show a severe lack of accountability. Personally I feel terrible for the employees that are forced to be on the front lines handling these customer complaints when it is the institution of PNC bank itself that is the problem. Their policies and practices show they only exist to charge over the top fees and use their customer 's money to invest in the stock market. They show such an extreme lack of regard for their customers and doing the right thing in general I'm shocked anyone would choose to use them for any type of banking needs. I was hesitant to file a complaint since in PNC 's view my grandmother 's account is chump change and probably not worth their time. However, my grandmother desperately needs her social security to meets her monthly expense needs and is unable to defend herself or navigate opening a new account. PNC needs to be held accountable for their actions.

Issue: Getting the loan

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: unfairactions against me as a small businessesseeking government-sponsored coronavirus relief. It concealed from the public that it was reshuffling the PPP applications it received and prioritizing the applications that would make the bank the most money. I was one of the first people to apply with pnc as soon as they released the PPP application online. I applied on the XXXX XXXX, yet I was not able to receive funds because they did not process my application at the time of receipt. Instead they waited ten days to contact me saying I was missing initials and signatures. I immediately corrected and resubmitted the application. Again, they delayed before letting me know they needed more information. It took them ten days from date of receipt to even check my application. Yet, the loans were supposed to be given on a first come basis. They repeatedly asked for the same information that was given to them. And there are correspondences with dates and time to prove that. Small businesses were supposed to get this loan. Yet some how multi million publicly traded. Companies received a majority of the funds.
