Consumer Complaint: Hello, I have tried to close my PayPay account numerous times as I'm not satisfied with their service or practices. I only have {$1.00} balance but I am more concerned that this company is holding my personal information including, Name, SSN, Phone and Credit Card Account number against my wishes I have been unable to speak with a person and instead get stuck in a circular string of text and web " help '' that has been useless. I honestly don't care about the {$1.00} but they should be able to send me a check. Please understand I have been the victim of identify theft and credit card fraud in the past which has been a ordeal. I'm concerned that this company could misuse my information or be hacked at some point. I want then to close my account and delate all my personal information. Consumer Complaint: I made a credit card transaction and they are withhold nearly 50 % for 21 days. I checked my limits BEFORE even doing this transaction and was WELL under the amount specified. They claim I have a " reserve '' in the amount of {$2000.00}. There was never an e-mail sent claiming they were updating any of my limits/placing a reserve on my account. There was nothing in my account stating any such limit, until AFTER said credit card transaction was made. Consumer Complaint: Subject : Unauthorized Transaction on PayPal Account On XX/XX/XXXX, an unauthorized transaction of {$550.00} was made using my PayPal account. The purchase was made with the seller XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The Transaction ID for this purchase is XXXX. The item purchased was XXXX XXXX ( Item # XXXX ) and the total amount included shipping and tax charges. Upon noticing the transaction, I immediately reported the issue to PayPal via their Resolution Center. However, despite multiple attempts to contact PayPal for support, I have not been able to speak with a representative to resolve the issue. I believe my account was compromised, and this transaction was fraudulent, as I do not know or live with anyone in the shipping address provided for the transaction. Furthermore, the backup payment method for this transaction, a VISA card ending in XXXX, has also been affected. I reported the issue to my bank, which kindly removed the charge. However, the issue with the PayPal transaction remains unresolved. I kindly request that this matter be investigated promptly and thoroughly. I have always used PayPal believing in its commitment to user security and am disappointed at this breach and the subsequent lack of customer service. I hope to see this situation rectified and measures taken to prevent such incidents in the future.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I received a payment on Venmo for a device I sold, totaling exactly {$51.00}. Upon attempting to transfer this from my digital wallet to my bank account, I was informed that my account was frozen. I did not receive any email communication as to why or informing me about the account issue at all. I communicated with Venmo 's online chat system that day and was told to wait between XXXX business days before there would be an updated. I chatted in on XX/XX/2023 again and was told that there was nothing I could do. They claimed that they would send an email when I could obtain the balance, but they did not answer why my account was frozen in the first place. When I pointed out that I was not receiving their email communications despite the fact I had confirmed it was the correct email and I had checked all my filters, they told me there was nothing they could do. They also said that I would not be able to withdraw the funds for at least XXXX days. They could not give me an explanation why or offer any solutions. This is unacceptable as something akin to a bank, holding on to money and not letting a user access money for up to 6 months. This seems like a free loan.

Consumer Complaint: My account was frozen back in XXXX of XXXX. They froze my account with {$1600.00} and have refused since then to release my funds. I have over 70 tickets with venmo regarding this matter of which maybe only half have been answered. I have filed with the XXXX in which Paypal, who owns Venmo, responded and said my funds would not be released due to strict violations of their policies. I then emailed PayPal and got an email after 3 years of asking why and they stated I had committed fraud and suspicious activity on their app. I have read Venmos policies and it states funds can be held up to 180 days. Venmo has flat out told me I will not get my funds back and that they can hold my funds for however they want to. They cause damages and defamation of character accusing someone of something without explanation as to why, which they also states they do not have to do. Venmo bends their contract to the current situation which in turn means it really isnt a contract if it can change under sole discretion. Many, many people have had their accounts frozen and had their funds held for things as simple as sending birthday money and Venmo does not have to offer a reason why and then gets away with just keeping the money. **Sent complaint into Venmo on XX/XX/XXXX and the complaint was sent back on XX/XX/XXXX saying they are not the ones responsible for this complaint. **

Consumer Complaint: To my surprise when I went on to my PayPal account, I had a PayPal credit attached to it with a {$4700.00} credit limit. I reached out to PayPal credit and they told me my account is in good standing and ready to use. I tried sending funds to a family and friend. I tried to purchase an item both using paypal credit and it won't show up as a credit option. PayPal credit is set as my preferred payment option. I spoke to PayPal many many times and they aren't fixing it. They are giving me all kinds of excuses and resolutions but nothing works and they keep passing on to paypal credit Paypal credit says " all is good on their end and its a PayPal issue '' I have this money available to me but PayPal is not allowing me to use it. What's the point of giving me credit that I can't use. Its been two weeks now of back and forth with PayPal and no resolution. They keep telling me to use another form of payment. Why do I need to use another form of payment when they gave me PayPal credit, its now on my credit report that I have this credit open but they aren't allowing me the option to use it because they won't take responsibility for the glitch in the system. I did some research and this issue is happening with many PayPal consumers. They are all complaining about the same issue on the PayPal forum. I've been talking to them since XX/XX/2023.

Having been a loyal and responsible user of PayPal for over a decade, I was taken aback by this sudden decision. I use this account primarily for my daily transactions, all of which are legitimate. Given this, I am unable to comprehend how my activities could have contravened the User Agreement. I have already attempted to resolve this issue via a phone call, but unfortunately, it did not prove fruitful. To the best of my knowledge, all my transactions have been in line with PayPal 's guidelines and policies. If there has been any unintentional violation, I would appreciate your guidance on the matter.
