Consumer Complaint: I have tried for over a month to reach a human at Nelnet to find out why and when they became my student loan service provider after receiving a notice I missed a payment in the mail. My loans were deferred due to currently being in school and were previously through Great Lakes. I never received notice my loans provider changed, can't reach a live person to get answers and I have tried email, fax and calling multiple times. Now I'm worried my credit will take a hit and cant get any help resolving the issue. I can't login to their website and can't even get help from their tech support team to get me logged in. Nelnet is by far a huge scam and lacks customer service.

Consumer Complaint: I have tried multiple times to get through to Nelnet, I have applied for the XXXX plan but heard nothing back and I can not reach Nelnet. I have sat on the phone multiple times for XXXX hours to get taken out of forbearance and get on the XXXX plan but can not reach anyone. Interest is now adding up and I cant reach Nelnet to solve the problem. I have yet to speak to anyone at Nelnet. Nelnet does not answer emails and nothing can be resolved through email, they just tell you to call.

Consumer Complaint: I have tried for several months to contact NELNET and I can never get anyone on the phone. I've tried doing auto payment and my payment keeps getting declined. I believe they want you to pay the minimum statement amount in order to keep incurring interest charges. Every time I pay more than the amount requested my payments declined. I would to get this resolved but can't get anyone on the phone. I'm thinking they are not accepting it because that minimizes the interest money they will receive. I wish I could get my student loan transferred to another company. This is so frustrating.

Consumer Complaint: My student loans used to be serviced by Nelnet. In XXXX of XXXX, I was informed the loans would be transferred to XXXX. And indeed they were transferred and my Nelnet account shows a balance of {$0.00} and a payment in full on XX/XX/2023. Since this time, XXXX has been servicing my loans with no issue. However, Nelnet continues to report all of loans to XXXX credit report. I have disputed the issue twice with Nelnet and twice to XXXX. As a result, my credit report shows a nearly double student loan balance ( because XXXX rightfully reports their balance but Nelnet continues to report a balance owed on all of the loans despite the transfer, full payment, XXXX balance ).

Consumer Complaint: I filed a recent complaint with Nelnet regarding this same issue and was given a satisfactory response. However upon calling them today they are telling me that it can take up to a year to fix this issue which was Nelnets fault in the first place as I had repeatedly indicated to them that I DID NOT want my loans to be discharged under the TPD automatic discharge. In XXXX I received a letter indicating my loans would be automatically discharged since I am a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I indicated in Writing as well as calling Nelnet well before the deadline that I did not want my loans to be discharged since I am still in XXXX Despite this Nelnet proceeded to discharge all of my loans and now I am unable to pay for school because of the incompetence of the XXXX discharge department at Nelnet. Nelnet needs to expedite this and fix it before my school starts as I use loans from the school to pay for my housing without which I will be homeless. I can not wait a year for them to fix something that was a lack of miscommunication on their end and of no fault of my own. They need to inform XXXX that my TPD application was cancelled and to reinstate my loans so that I can receive XXXX loans from my school. As you can see this letter dated XX/XX/XXXX that I received from Nelnet shows their acknowledgement that I had opted out of the TPD discharge. Despite this all of my loans were discharged even though I had indicated to Opt out.

I LATER RECIEVED A LETTER FROM XXXX STATING THEY DID AN INVESTIGATION AND THEY VEFIED THE INFORAMTION WAS ACCURRATE. IM ASSUMING THE INVESTIGTION WASNT PROPERLY CONSIDERED AND WAS UPDATED BY A COMPUTER INSTAED OF A PERSON. BECAUSE THE RESULTS WOULDVE BEEN DIFFERENT.
