Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2021 I spoke with XXXX XXXX representative about co-signer release. The representative verified that the loan meets the required payments ( 48 on time payments ). However, because they are being sold to XXXX, which is really NELNET, a big education loan holder, they will not take the application until the change takes place. The earliest I could apply for this is XX/XX/XXXX. The representative indicated that it would be just a matter of filling out the application. XX/XX/2021 I contacted XXXX the first week that I could inquire about the co-signer release form. Due to being backlogged from transitioning from XXXX XXXX, the XXXX representative stated that I would not hear back from them regarding my request for a co-signer release application until at least XXXX. XX/XX/2021 I received a letter from XXXX stating that I did not meet the requirements for the co-signer release application due to delinquent payments from almost a decade ago. This completely contradicts what I was told by the original lender, XXXX XXXX, and, due to a backlog, my request was backlogged and now void under the new rules of the new loan holder, XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: Nelnet is reporting late notations on my credit file that I need removed. My student loans were in deferment but while in deferment I was making payments of {$90.00} a month. Once my deferment was over, I continued to make the {$90.00} a month and was not aware that my payments had gone from {$90.00} to {$400.00}!! As soon as I found out I did my best to catch up and get current but I was not warned at all about this. This is not my fault, I was not advised that my payment would go up a ridiculous amount and once I figured that out, I have been current.

Consumer Complaint: I entered a consumer credit transaction with DEPT OF EDUCATION/XXXX and as a result they used my credit card ( as described in 15 USC 1602 ) and was extended credit in a consumer credit sale. they are now claiming that they originated the credit I extended to them, in which is false Pursuant to federal law. They have committed fraud and several violations of the FDCPA and TILA. They are now threatening me for an alleged debt that DEPT OF EDUCATION/XXXX claim I owe. DEPT OF EDUCATION/XXXX has taken an unfair advantage of me as a consumer and they should be held accountable for deceiving me.

Consumer Complaint: Great Lakes Student Loan would like to resolve this matter by the creditor having to cease and desist any further collection of any alleged debts they claim I owe. According to the Fair debt collection practice act and the section 609 law, they don't have the right to collect the debt without providing me with my original instrument of INDEBTEDNESS. Therefore all those items in dispute must cease and desist immediately! Also I expect the credit bureaus to remove those items from my credit report immediately, or I would like to proceed with a litigation process immediately against them.

Consumer Complaint: Firstmark Services claims I owe them for a student loan debt that was purchased from XXXX XXXX. I was made aware of this on XX/XX/2021. On XX/XX/2021, I requested validation of the debt within 30 days and was advised on XX/XX/2021, that a copy of the promissory note would be sent to me with 2-3 business days. It is now XX/XX/2021, and I have been provided absolutely no documentation to validate this debt is mine. Firstmark has since reported the debt to credit bureaus ( even without the ability to verify its validity ) and has continued to attempt to collect the debt while it is in dispute. I received notices this week via both email and physical letter that the account is past due, even though the validity of the account is in dispute an unresolved. It has been almost 45 days since I requested validation of the debt and I have been provided nothing while Firstmark continues to attempt to collect.

Consumer Complaint: I have about {$34000.00} in federal student loans with Nel Net and some payments are showing on my credit report as negative accounts. I placed my loans on forbearance due to economic hardship and while my loans were on a forbearance status, my student loan company reported my payments as late payments to the credit bureau from about XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. I placed my loans on forbearance in XX/XX/XXXX and I was asked to call back 6 months later to follow up with my account to continue to be eligible to for the forbearance program and to make sure i met the requirements. When I called back in XX/XX/XXXX, I was told by a Nel Net representative my loans were no longer on forbearance since XX/XX/XXXX and my account was showing in their system as past due and my account was in delinquent status. I told the representative it was an error and I did not authorize to terminate my forbearance status, the representative stated it was an error and my loans were going to be placed on forbearance once again. I called back Nelnet in XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX because my account was still showing as negative accounts in my credit report and I was reassured every time by the agent that my matter was going to get resolved because it was an error on behalf of NelNet and to allow some time for the matter to get solved. I called numerous times in XXXX to solve the matter and it was still not resolved. I spoke to a NelNet representative again in XX/XX/XXXX and she stated my loans should have never been taken off forbearance status and she was going to submit a dispute report to clear the negative payments that were showing in my credit report. Once the representative submit my request, the letter stated Ne Net did not commit an error in the reporting the late payments because NelNet stated I was not eligible for the forbearance program because my time on the program expired and I was not informed of the situation. NelNet stated they called me but I was not provided with a voicemail of the issue.

Consumer Complaint: We had to go through a Chapter XXXX bankruptcy in 2020. Since then, all 3 credit reporting agencies have reported my Student Loan ( serviced through NELNET ) as being closed and/or discharged. This account was never discharged in the bankruptcy and we still continue to pay on it monthly and it is current. My understanding is that student loans are one of the few accounts that are not discharged/closed in bankruptcy and yet all 3 reporting agencies refuse to acknowledge this. I have disputed this TWICE with each agency ( XXXX only once ) and each time they say that their information is accurate and continue to show it as a closed account. I have contacted NELNET several times regarding this and they assure me that they are reporting my payment and balances each month to each reporting agency. There are technically 2 accounts with NELNET that have different balances and both show on my credit report as discharged/closed. As we try to rebuild our credit, we can't see to get this item corrected on our credit report and it affects us adversely.

Consumer Complaint: Nelnet financing was selected to discharge {$30000.00} loans for veterans of XXXX percent XXXX. I filed the application in early XX/XX/2021 to have these loans discharged. I checked back 90 days and nothing has happened, I checked back over 120 days and still nothing has happened. I filed a complaint in earlly XXXX with Nelnet about this and they didnt even investigate that complaint. When I called them today again, XXXX XX/XX/2021, the supervisor said she was going to file another complaint about the first complaint that wasnt investigated. This is ridiculous as people are waiting for their loans to be discharged.
