Consumer Complaint: Nelnet 's website is completely broken, so I am unable to advance through the website enough to make a payment. I have sent emails since mid-XXXX requesting assistance in making my payments and have gotten no responses. They do not answer the phone, so I wouldn't be able to make a payment over the phone. There is no where to mail a check. I'm concerned I'm going to get hit with missing a payment, when it's not my fault that I can't make the payment. I was originally concerned with security issues with their website, but now that I see that I can't even get through enough of the website to even enter my information at all, there are clearly bigger problems going on at their company, and I don't deserve to suffer because of it.

Consumer Complaint: I applied for the SAVE plan about 3 months ago on account XXXX. I have uploaded everything on Nelnet that is required for the SAVE plan to be processed. I have called multiple times the customer service representatives and they just keep telling me its going to be processed in a couple weeks in XXXX, XXXX, and in XXXX. The problem is that I have XXXX in student loans from school and it keeps accruing interest while on the standard repayment plan instead of save. I keep trying to call them but it takes 2 hours to reach any representatives only to get told it will get processed in a couple weeks then never processes. The payments keep getting deferred but I am interested in paying the payments on the SAVE plan but Nelnet it taking a ridiculous time to process.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2023 I transferred my student loans from Nelnet to XXXX for repayment. After my loans were transferred to XXXX, Nelnet failed to " close '' or " transfer '' my loan accounts on my credit report. I have contacted Nelnet three times by phone to have this complete and even filed a dispute with Nelnet to have them close the accounts. They sent me a statement in the mail that says their accounts are correct and have been transferred when they are not. My credit report is taking a hit because it is reporting that I owe double the amount of student loans when I have only XXXX servicer for them, which is XXXX. I should not have an open account with Nelnet as I have not had them for my loan servicer since XX/XX/2023. This is affecting my daily life as I have tried to apply for other loans and can not be approved because my debt ratio is too high due to the incomplete task that Nelnet is failing to accomplish on my behalf. I filed a dispute on XXXX for all my Nelnet accounts, which came back that the consumer disagrees with my statements. I have paper work stating when XXXX took over and that my accounts with Nelnet were transferred.

Consumer Complaint: My initial student loan was due XX/XX/23 for {$330.00}. I made payment online, with my correct banking information, and received a confirmation email from Nelnet of payment received. There has been no payment applied, and now Nelnet is telling me my payment is more than 15 days late and I have an outstanding balance of double my initial payment. They are impossible to get in touch with ( hours and hours waiting on hold via phone, including today XX/XX/23 ; completely ignoring any emails ( sent XX/XX/23 asking for clarification/help ) ; even social media is useless ). Is there any way to move to a different servicer? Great Lakes had none of these issues. Nelnet has been nothing but impossible to deal with. Just incredibly frustrating and now it's starting to impact me financially and emotionally.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX : I researched Nelnet 's quoted payoff amount for all of my student loan groups and made an online payment of {$20000.00} on my Nelnet account. I received a payment confirmation email from Nelnet confirming that I made a payment of {$20000.00} to XXXX XXXX XXXX in my account and that the payment effective date is XX/XX/XXXX ( see attached documentation ). *I attempted to speak to a Nelnet representative prior to making an online payment because the payoff was so large that I wanted to make sure Nelnet was going to process in a timely and appropriate manner ( i.e. paying off the entire group of loans to a XXXX balance before any extra interest accrued ). I waited on hold for 80 minutes before the line was disconnected before choosing to paying off my loans through the website. * XX/XX/XXXX : I go to my Nelnet account hoping to see the {$0.00} XXXX balance in order to save this documentation. Instead, I see that Nelnet has incorrectly applied my payoff payment to my student loans and is expecting me to continue to pay on one of the XXXX XXXX XXXX with a payment due date in XX/XX/XXXX ( see attached documentation ). Nelnet 's online payment process confirmed that I was paying on XXXX XXXX XXXX, as did the confirmation email, yet Nelnet has only applied my payoff payment to three of my four student XXXX XXXX XXXX, specifically XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX ( see attached documentation ). Nelnet ignored student XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, leaving it open to accrue interest, and applied the payoff payment amount for XXXX XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX XXXX effectively stealing the {$7600.00} meant to payoff XXXX XXXX XXXX ( see attached documentation ). {$9500.00} of my {$20000.00} payoff payment was applied to XXXX XXXX XXXX which only required a payment of {$1900.00} ( {$1800.00} principal + {$30.00} interest as of XX/XX/XXXX ), leaving the {$7600.00} meant for XXXX XXXX XXXX in some kind of Nelnet financial limbo ( see documentation ). In the meantime, Nelnet has left XXXX XXXX XXXX open, accruing interest, and expects me to start making payments in XX/XX/XXXX. *On XX/XX/XXXX, after seeing this error, I emailed Nelnet through their website and called Nelnet via the phone number they list at the student loan contact number on their website. That evening, I spent approximately 3 hours in total on hold with Nelnet. After the first two hours on hold, a Nelnet representative named " XXXX '' answered and I explained this to her. She told me she could not fix the error, but that she would inform the correct department and asked if I would like to pay the accrued interest. After I explained that I felt I should not be charged for the interest that accrued due to Nelnet 's misapplication of my payoff payment, she told me that I would have to speak to a supervisor and placed me on hold for another hour before the call was disconnected. I have not been able to speak to another person from Nelnet since XX/XX/XXXX and I feel their system is designed to dissuade their customers from trying to speak to a representative.
