I was supposed to be protected under SCRA guidelines. I have been tryin to fix this issue for years as it is still reporting a balance on my consumer report I tried to handle this situation kept being told they had nothing on file. I have attached the same document that was submitted from years ago. Protection Against Car Repossession Under the SCRA. The SCRA prevents car loan lenders from repossessing your car without a court order while you're in military service. Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease
Subissue: Problem with paying off the loan
Consumer Complaint: Navy Federal Credit Union auto loan. I refinance my auto loan last year and paid for GAP insurance. I got a lower interest rate last month and paid off the loan. I called to see if you get a refund and the answer was no. This is just an easy way for the credit union to keep a member money especially if you pay the loan off early. Hard to believe the credit union has the interest of its military members in mind. Since I didn't use any of the GAP insurance, the credit union should give a refund and not be so hung up on making a profit. They made a profit by selling this service and if you pay off the loan, they should offer a refund.

Consumer Complaint: I paid off a loan with Navy Federal Credit Union ( NFCU ) in XX/XX/2018. NFCU placed a late charge on my account because they claimed I didn't pay the final payment in full, which is utterly ridiculous. Why would pay on time for 35 months and not pay on time the last month due in the amount I had on my schedule to pay? But no one bothered to contact me to let me know the last payment had increased for some odd reason. I have tried to correct this for the past 3.5 years. Their was an error in their system that caused my account to increase verses decrease in the amount of the due amount I reportedly submitted. To no avail they refuse to reverse the error and again recently when I filed through XXXX and XXXX. In accordance with the fair credit Reporting act XXXX Account # XXXX, has violated my rights. 15 USC 1681 Section 602 States I have the right to privacy. 15 USC 1681 Section 604 A Section 2 : It also states a consumer reporting agency can not furnish an account without my written instructions. 15 USC 1666B : A creditor may not treat a payment on a credit plan as late for any purpose.
