Issue: Took or threatened to take negative or legal action
Subissue: Threatened to sue you for very old debt
Consumer Complaint: Complaint is against Navy Federal Credit Union. XXXX of XXXX I was notified that I was being sued for an auto debt of around {$8000.00} originated in XXXX and a credit card debt of around {$800.00}. Navy Federal had passed the debt to the Collection Agency XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX where it remained until the accounts were closed due to the Auto debt reaching statute of limitations XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. No further contact had taken place until XXXX, XXXX wherein Navy Federal had found my current residence in South Carolina using the law firm of XXXX XXXX Case # XXXX. XXXX XXXX has claims Navy Fed still has the right to sue despite how old the debt is and is currently attempting to change jurisdiction from XXXX XXXX, CA to XXXX, SC. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a text for an appointment to be served. When XXXX XXXX was contacted, they claimed it was a mistake but is still in the process of changing jurisdiction. This is causing a tremendous amount of stress for myself and my family under threat of being sued for these debts that are very old and past limitations. I'm currently awaiting mail from XXXX XXXX explaining Navy Federal justification. XXXX XXXX has also stated that the debt will also increase just because I no longer live in the XXXX XXXX jurisdiction.

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: My husband ( XXXX XXXX ) and I ( XXXX XXXX ) opened a Navy Federal More Rewards XXXX XXXX XX/XX/2022 it had been set up by us for reoccurring statements. The bill was paid automatically every month without any late or incomplete statements. Every bill was paid in full each month. The bill due on XX/XX/XXXX was not paid. The bill was for {$460.00}. I called Navy Federal on XX/XX/2022 at XXXX ( when I was first notified that the bill had not been paid ) to inquire as to what the issue was " the system did not make the transfer ''. XXXX our representative called the " Advanced Team '' to find out more, and I was told " they would research it. '' And that was all that wound happen. If I wanted to speak with anyone else about it, I would need to email a complaint to a complaints email. I then spoke with XXXX XXXX who stated that more research would have to be done on why this occurred. Because our checking and savings are Navy Federal, when logging into Navy Federal to have access to our money, all that shows is " your account is delinquent '' in huge red letters and a huge " Pay now '' button with no other way to access my account. There was also no option view the statement and I was told by XXXX " I will mail it to you. '' I feel that my money is being held hostage and I am concerned about how this late payment will impact my credit score, I am concerned that Navy Federal does not notify customers of late payments prior to logging in ( no email was sent, no call was made, no letter was sent, I even went to the bank on Friday and the teller did not let me know ). I am concerned that I can not access my money. I am concerned that I was asked to {$460.00} without being given access to any documentation or reason why this was unpaid, and without being shown a statement. The attached image is what shows up upon logging in to Navy Federal, instead of our accounts page.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 Navy Federal garnished payroll wages for over {$1600.00}. Navy Federal representatives we're contacted on XX/XX/2022, one by live chat, the other by phone, the one by phone had no information and could not explain why over 1/2 of a paycheck was garnished. The representative stated by phone he could not see where the money went to or why. The online chat representative only gave a number to the account resolution department and also was not specific on why a large amount of money was kept from me. My Navy Federal account shows $ XXXX taken for an " adjustment '', no court order has been placed to garnish wages for this credit card debt with Navy Federal . I have tried in the past to create a payment plan with Navy Federal, however, Navy Federal requires I pay thousands up front in order to begin a high dollar amount payment plan. Navy Federal garnished my wages without warning or order.

Consumer Complaint: Im 2020 my vehicle was totaled Navy Federal Credit Union was the Lienholder. Without our knowledge XXXX XXXX sold the from underneath us illegally removing NFCU and myself from the title and changing the VIN. XXXX. In XX/XX/2020 XXXX XXXX XXXX told NFCU the car isnt totaled and can be repaired, then XXXX NFCU was removed as the leinholder holder ( as stated ) without 60 days notice ( illegal ), as well as now without collateral NFCU is in a bind because 60 days has passed where I am not on the title or in possum of the stolen car and the fact that the VIN was charged ( extremely extremely illegal ), and finally the vehicle was ultimately sold twice, XXXX and XX/XX/2020. Thus making the new owner liable. I have resolved this issue and would like Navy Federal Credit Union comments and account removed from my report as it was previously but just now appearing again.
