Consumer Complaint: In the last 10 years I had to file Chapter XXXX which caused the Student Loan to be in deferment for 5 years until the process finished. I did not understand that interest fees would still accrue. The loan amount was ( originally ) about {$40000.00}. Now, for the last year all monthly payments only go to interest rate fees. The Navient Student loan amount is now over {$80000.00} with no workable process or way for me to pay back the loan.

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX, I enrolled in XXXX University online in XXXX I borrowed {$7500.00} to continue my education. After the first semester I withdrew from the course and decided it would be cheaper to take classes on campus. I only used {$5000.00} of the {$7500.00}. The original lender was XXXX. I paid approximate {$3800.00} to this lender the debt was sold to Sallie Mae around XXXX where I paid approximately {$1600.00}. Sallie Mae then turned the debt over to NAVIENT where I paid over {$4000.00} dollars to this debt. I have repeatedly tried to contact XXXX, Sallie Mae and NAVIENT concerning my payments. The payments were auto drafted from my bank account. Over the course of several years i tried contacting these companies. I never received a reply from any e-mails and nor was any of my phone calls returned. In XXXX I was able to contact some one from XXXX concerning my account and was told that they would have look in the archive for my account since the debt was sold to Sallie Mae. I was told that it would take a couple days but someone would contact me. I was requesting a statement from XXXX as to the amount of the original loan and the balance when it was sold. I was never contacted concerning this matter nor was able to contact anyone else from XXXX, Sallie Mae never replied to any of my requests neither did NAVIENT. In XXXX of XXXX I received an e-mail stating that my account was paid in full. I estimate that I paid {$9400.00} on a {$5000.00} debt. To pay the debt off quicker, I increased payments to {$150.00} each month which was automatically withdrawn from my account to pay it off early, My payment was changed to {$57.00} each month by the lender. It took me over 11 years to pay this off.

Consumer Complaint: General Revenue Corporation has a loan of mine that has expired by the State of California Statute of Limitations ( let 's say in the amount of {$1000.00} ). They have recently filed a derogatory mark on my credit in the amount of {$83.00}, which is much less than the amount of the expired loan. When I contacted them regarding the loan, they couldn't give me any information about where this {$83.00} amount came from, but stated the amount of the loan was the amount of the expired loan ( {$1000.00}, in this example ). They won't let me pay off the {$83.00} for the derogatory mark to go away, and instead want the {$1000.00} which has expired. I'm concerned if I pay {$83.00}, this will count as a payment towards the {$1000.00}, which could reset the statute of limitations on that loan. I would like to 1 ) Know why I owe the {$83.00} ( willing to pay that off, if it comes to it ) 2 ) Ensure that I'm not resetting the statute of limitations on my {$1000.00} ( ish ) loan.

Consumer Complaint: I recently applied to " remove '' a cosigner from my private student loan. On XX/XX/2019, I received a " denial '' to do so. The reason that I was given was : On two ( 2 ) occasions, you were late paying your monthly payment. I candidly responded, " I do remember, but my reasons were : # 1. My purse was stolen and my debit card was in the purse. I immediately reported the " theft ''. It took 3-5 business days for me to get my " new '' card. In the meantime, when Navient went in for payment, it was " rejected ''. I was not aware until I received a phone call. # 2. One of my check books was stolen from my office drawer by a custodian. He admitted to writing ( 2 ) checks before I discovered the check book was missing. I immediately closed my checking account, and had to wait before opening up a new one because I had outstanding checks.. I guess in between this time, the payment was rejected also. If you check my payment history, I have NEVER missed a payment and have been consistent with paying. My credit score is over 700, that should count for something. I have been paying this loan for years and I am seeking FULL responsibility and now I am being rejected and penalized for ( 2 ) late payments that was not my fault and I am seeking some relief. I am in good standing. Why am I being rejected? Please consider this letter of complaint and honor my co-signer release. I am not being difficult, I just feel rejected for something that was beyond my control. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: My consolidated subsidized student loans started at {$13000.00} in XXXX and has grown to {$28000.00} current balance owed. I have been charged capitalized interest during deferments, forbearance and IBR. I receive a statement with {$250.00} owed each month but with a {$0.00} amount due and interest is accrued on this amount. Capitalized interest is added every month. Some months it's over {$1000.00} and some months it's only {$50.00}. Navient will not explain how the repayment works and will not explain why I get a bill for {$250.00} every month with {$0.00} amount due. I have contacted Navient several times through out the life of my loans but I never relieve any resolution. In XXXX I I owed about {$19000.00} which I disagreed with but had offered a {$15000.00} payment to close my account in good standing. Navient refused to accept this amount. Also, Navient has sold my private information to several third party " debt relief '' companies that contact me 4-5 times every day. These companies have the exact amount I owe, payment activity, social security number, birth date, etc. They say I qualify for forgiveness but only have 5 day to respond. One company actually tricked me int o allowing them to login to my account. I thought I was verifying information, but they actually used that information to get a new password and almost had me signing an agreement with them. These companies pressure me every time I answer the call and they use voip numbers that are untraceable. Navient will not allow me to opt out of third party advertisements.
