Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Account status incorrect

Consumer Complaint: I have many complaints about how I was mislead by XXXX and how naive I was when I attended college over a decade ago. Between Sallie Mae, XXXX, and Navient I somehow ended up with XXXX in debt for an XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX which I can't even use because no one will hire me with an online degree. I am currently in the process of the borrowers defense review however, Navient has refused to allow me to consolidate my loans and has reported over 20 loans which I am confused about why there was ever more than one lender. I haven't been able to do anything in life get a home or car, nothing. Its been XXXX, I've even recently had to start claiming exempt on my W2 just to bring home enough money to eat. I've never been able to catch up on medical bills or anything else and have always worked full time. I've XXXX my XXXX and had XXXX from simply working too much. Right now the Dept of education has deferred my loans until 2022 or something while they review and yet, Navient hasn't stopped negatively reporting to credit agencies and I can't get even a credit card. All of my debt is from going to college and having kids. I wasn't irresponsible and I didn't max out credit cards. I'm so tired of struggling. Please help, I've been waiting a year for my borrowers defense decision.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan

Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan

Consumer Complaint: I signed up for an Income-Driven Repayment Program in XXXX, 2017. I was able to keep those payments current until I was forced to take a XXXX XXXX from my job. When I contacted Navient to report that I would be unable to make my payments, I discovered that my payments actually increased ( which I was never told ) and they gave me no other options that could help my situation. I have repeatedly reported to Navient that I have XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and am struggling physically, emotionally and financially. Meanwhile, they continue to harass me. I was just given an ultimatum that I needed to pay {$6300.00} by this past Friday or I would be facing legal consequences. All the while I keep repeating to them that I just don't have the funds. Please help.

Issue: Communication tactics

Subissue: Frequent or repeated calls

Consumer Complaint: I have been working to resolve this repayment plan and options only to reduce my current monthly payments from {$260.00} to {$57.00} which I was informed that I was approved for the {$57.00} repayment plan. I submitted the requested documents via of electronic submission and downloading and attaching the proof of income of which my income has decreased. I continue to receive calls from Navient day and night beginning at XXXX until XXXX. These calls are all throughout the day and evening. It is very disappointing that when you speak with a representative to resolve the matter, and you are told we are here to assist and how can you get the best repayment plan, you are only offered false hope and additional fees. I will seek additional information on how to join the class action lawsuit against Navient, I have not even graduated and they continue to threatening me, I am beginning to believe that Navient is a fraud due to their ill-intent actions in claiming that I was approved for a repayment plan of {$57.00} and losing my income. Please help resolve this issue and provide assistance in getting this debt discharged. Thank you. XXXX

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled

Consumer Complaint: I have two loans. One with Navient and one with Navient DOE ( Dept. of Education ). In XX/XX/2019 Navient DOE moved their payment address to XXXX, Oregon, from XXXX, GA. Since that time both Navient DOE and Navient ( XXXX XXXX, PA. ) have said they are not receiving my payments. I have sent check after check, ( to ensure payments are made and technically overpaying ) and still they are not recording my payments. I am getting 5 robo calls/day, and calls from various phone numbers claiming to be Navient/Navient DOE. I believe they are getting the checks, holding them and charging late fees. I have called repeatedly to clear this up, sent in documentation and have even had my bank call them. I am now photographing each check before I mail them. I owe more now than I did when I took out the loans and I am paying over XXXX/month! I have repeatedly asked them to send photocopies of my checks for verification but they refuse. By the way, Navient and Navient DOE are using the same account number ( XXXX )

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled

Consumer Complaint: Ex-husband used my information to get a parent loan for his biological daughter under my information and social security number. This did not come to be known until we were in midst of divorce and it showed up on my credit report. It was agreed to and acknowledge by the judge and in our divorce decree and court judgement that he would be responsible to pay this loan off and get it out of my name and off my credit report as it was fraudulently obtained without my knowledge and/or agreement. I have notified the " loan plus '' hotline and they have in the past put a hold/deferment on this loan as my ex-husband is currently in default of the court order and has been held in contempt of court. I do not understand why I being penalized for his fraudulent behavior and why this is still attached to my social secruity number, " my debt ratio '', and i have to manage this on my credit report when it was not my doing.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan

Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan

Consumer Complaint: My original student loan in XX/XX/XXXX was {$35000.00}. Over the years I made payments and also had my taxes garnished but the total just kept getting higher. In XX/XX/XXXX I got a call from XXXX XXXX of XXXX XXXX Ext. XXXX. She told me that I since I was a single mother and that my loan was so old, I was eligible to reduce the interest rate of 9 % and to have all the penalties and interest removed after I made 5 payment in a row. XXXX XXXX at XXXX # XXXX XXXX walked me through all the paperwork and told me not to worry about all the legal speak and that before I knew it this would all be behind me. My loan is now at {$130000.00} still at 9 % and I just got an email that if I don't sign a new document my payment will be {$1600.00} per month and a everything will capitalize on top of the old amounts. When I called to ask what was going on the customer service person told me that I should be careful of what I sign. She told me to call my senator or contact the department of education. That I should pay {$5.00} a month. Meanwhile, I am devastated and don't know how to even begin to tackle this debt. I feel I was defrauded by XXXX/ Navient and I met others where the exact situation took place. I feel so foolish.
