Consumer Complaint: So, I'm trying to go debt-free and I've been making " overpayments '' toward the principle of my loans here and there over the last couple of years. Or, I thought I was anyway. I got frustrated because it seemed like my loan principle wasn't getting any smaller and I was right, it wasn't! I went looking for why and it turns out Navient applied all of my extra payments to the interest instead of my principle! They're sneaky about it too, when you make extra payments via the online dashboard, they call it an " overpayment '' but they don't let you specify where you want the money to go. I figured since it was an overpayment, it would go onto my principle ( since they don't have the option to specify ). NOPE! Not only were they stealing my overpayments, but they also have not been reporting my payments to the credit bureaus. I tried to find my monthly statements ( which they all but hide from you ) because I coud n't see a breakdown of my accrued charges on my dashboard. When I finally found my monthly statements, they're hard to interpret. Utterly ridiculous.

Consumer Complaint: I have several loans managed by Navient. some of these loans were consolidated from other companies. Most of loans were federal subsidized and unsubsidized. the lowest interest rate I pay is 3.125 % and the highest I paid was 9.75 % on a training loan. Most of my outstanding loans abo ut ( {$62000.00} ) is at the rate of 6.8 %. I graduated in XX/XX/XXXX and for couple of years I did not make significant payments into the loans, except of a loan to Sallie Miae, which was consolidated to Navient in XX/XX/XXXX. the total I borrowed in this loan is {$18000.00}, I consistently paid {$180.00} monthly since XX/XX/XXXX. Even when I was late next month I paid the late charges and the missed month. so far I paid over $ XXXX of this loan and still going. I don't even now how much is the balance now but I'm sure it wont be less than XXXX. below is the current status of all the loans. 1-01 Career Training {$0.00} 9.750 % No Due Date 1-02 Stafford - Unsubsidized {$0.00} 3.370 % No Due Date 1-03 Stafford - Subsidized {$0.00} 3.370 % No Due Date 1-05 Consolidation {$5500.00} 3.125 % XX/XX/XXXX 1-06 Consolidation {$8600.00} 3.125 % XX/XX/XXXX 1-07 Stafford - Subsidized {$0.00} 6.800 % No Due Date 1-08 Stafford - Subsidized {$13000.00} 6.800 %XX/XX/XXXX 1-09 Stafford - Unsubsidized {$24000.00} 6.800 % XX/XX/XXXX 1-10 Stafford - Unsubsidized {$24000.00} 6.800 % XX/XX/XXXX 1-11 XXXX XXXX {$0.00} 8.500 % No Due Date When I graduated the total I owe was about {$96000.00}, and by XX/XX/XXXX the total I owe was above {$130000.00}. During the last two years I managed to reduce the loans to the point where the total was just over $ XXXX. Since then I did not miss a payment, maybe a little delay but did not miss a payment. Today the total I owe s {$76000.00}. according to my calculations the total I owe should be less than $ XXXX. Since I started paying and up to date I believe I have paid not less than XXXX into these loans but most of the amount I paid went towards interest and maybe other fees. I believe I was unfairly treated and fees, high interest and other charges were dumped on me. For the year of XX/XX/XXXX alone, Navient sent me a tax document that showed I paid $ XXXX in interest. imagine the interest payment alone for was XXXX in a loan at the time a little over 100k. I would like to file a complaint and have the loan managing company disclose : 1. how much interest I paid from the start up to date ; 2. i'm contesting the legality of the charges, late payment charges 3. I'm contesting that I agreed to the interest rate of 6.8 % and the rate of 8.5 %

Consumer Complaint: While Navient was my loan lender, they kept assuring me that my payments were being applied to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. I even sent them several PSLF employment forms and confirmed with Navient that they had been received and were being counted. My payments, of course, couldn't be counted because my loans needed to be consolidated under XXXX XXXX to be eligible for the PSLF program. Navient lied to me for 2 years before I found out the truth. I've lost 2 years of PSLF because of Navient. Navient need to be held accountable for lying and taking advantage of thousands of people.

I am a litigious consumer and fully intend on pursuing litigation in this matter to enforce my rights under the FCRA. I demand the following accounts be deleted immediately. Name of Accounts : Navient, XXXX & US DEPT OF EDXXXX On removal of the above noted accounts please provide me with a copy of an updated and corrected copy of my credit report showing that these accounts have been removed.Thanking you in advance for your anticipated quick co-operation on this matter

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I tried to reached Navient to settle a pass due monthly payment, I make very regular payments with good records, but had an issue with setting up my auto payment and missed two payments. I wanted to get the amount paid and so it wont effect my credit score. I google Navient Customer service and found Navient Student Loan XXXX. I thought I had reach Navient to settle my issue, and had giving my private information, SSN, Birthday, Credit Card Information. The teller was telling me about the loan forgiveness program where they would take my balance and transfer it from Navient to the Department of Education and would charge {$3000.00} for making the transition. I thought it was very fishy after reading it over the contract, and I refuse to agree to move forward. Then they transfers me to the manager and she was very pushy and really wants me to agree and move forward, she keep saying I can always Cancel after I agree to move forward, also very pushy. I did not agree, she was getting annoyed and hang up on me. I now realized that it was a huge scam. I am afraid for my sensitive information and a contract they have my information on, I am not sure how to protect myself at this point. The contract I still have and the name on there in small print is called " XXXX XXXX 'XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX The website they directed me to was this and it also not real. Please advise

Consumer Complaint: Since the beginning of this year, I have attempted to send Navient my information for an IBR. They have miscalculated my repayment 2 times. ( my income has gone down, yet my payments have gone up considerably. ) I have written to the president of the company. I have turned in my documents three times as of XX/XX/2019. They continue to harass me via phone.

Consumer Complaint: I have one open student loan with Navient. I send a payment every week to Navient with the loan number listed in the memo of the check. They apply the payment to 6 other loans that have been closed and sent to collections to be handled by a different company despite the fact that the loan number is listed on the check. I have not made a payment on the closed loans since XXXX but in my credit report it shows that I am paying monthly on them. I am not paying Navient at all for these loans. I have talked to them four times to have them correct this and apply the payments correctly and they will not. I have previously filed with the CFPB and they corrected it momentarily and then went back and did the exact same thing. I want all payments ever sent to Navient to be only applied to the open loan, and it corrected on my credit report for both the open and the closed loans. The last payment made to any closed loans was in XXXX and was sent to XXXX XXXX, not Navient,
