Our salaries will never let us pay that amount off. We are both XXXX years old and will never be able to retire. Naviet and sallie mae are crooks that guided us into debt that we will never be able to pay. We need help!

Consumer Complaint: Navient used high pressure sales techniques to get me to consolidate my loans and take frequent forbearances. When i asked if there was any down side or reprecussions, they continually said "no". Come to find out that because I consolidated, I am not eligible to have XXXX Loan forgiveness, even though I spent 13 yrs. as a XXXX and 5 yrs. as an XXXX in a XXXX XXXX district. They have continually refused to take responsiblity for this and have consistently denied my application for XXXX Loan forgiveness sighting that my loan consolidation makes me ineligible! Had I known this, I would have never consolidated!

Consumer Complaint: Beginning in 2018 I informed Navient that I was not a cosigner on a loan for my XXXX. I had been a cosigner on a loan for her that I paid off completely but was not a cosigner on another loan through Navient. I did make payments to the second loan as a courtesy to my XXXX who was struggling financially but never signed on as a cosigner. I went through an extensive process with them that required filing police reports and obtaining a large amount of documentation. They indicated that since I made payments on the loan it indicated that I was responsible for it and they considered me a cosigner. I wrote to them many times without response. My Attorney alsop wrote to them without response. I indicated that I would be happy to litigate their claim but that until it is resolved they should not impair my credit. However, they have severely harmed my credit and caused me to have to pay much more on the mortgage for my home and laon for my automobile Navient remains unresponsive to my requests to not harm my credit and/or to litigate their claim.

Consumer Complaint: I tried to contact Navient by mail (XX/XX/2019) to verify the information they are reporting to the Credit Bureau several times. They finally sent me a copy of a Promissory Note on (XX/XX/2019). The above date is not the first time I have asked them to verify they information, no response. The information is past 7 years old and they do not hold the account anymore. The loans are consolidated with XXXX XXXX. Navient has reported than I was late on some accounts and not late on others. Basically ALL the information they reporting is incorrect.

Consumer Complaint: On Monday XX/XX/2019 at XXXX EST I spoke with XXXX XXXX in the Rate Reduction Program Department. I advised her of my concern. She asked a couple of questions regarding my request to apply to the rate reduction program. Follow a brief hold she provided the results of the review. I was not satisfied as the rate of 5 percent increased to 8.5 percent. Once I challenged the rate increased her behavior became very aggressive thus making me become very assertive. She would not provide any details around the rate reduction programs and declined to provide any feedback around the changes to the program, noting this she does not have to disclose that information to me. I feel Navient/Sallie Mae takes advantage of their clients. As a result my payment has increased from {$430.00} to {$530.00}. This is absurd and I don't know how to combat this. I was very vulnerable so I gave in to the new payment as the regular payment is around {$700.00} a month. Please Help!! Sallie Mae/Navient is really taking advantage of their clients. I don't know how they are allowed to continue to service loans.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, my daughter asked me to co-sign for a {$7500.00} student loan for a XXXX XXXX school. My daughter passed away on XX/XX/XXXX with an outstanding balance ( due to a bankruptcy in which Navient wasn't included, supposedly due to being a Federal loan ) of {$7800.00}. I notified Navient of her passing and was told to fax her Death Certificate and loan would be discharged. I continue to monitor my credit scores and this Navient claim continues, so I continue to call. Over my calling Navient, I get Customer Service individuals pressuring me for payment as was a co-signer. I have contacted other Navient phone numbers and was asked to resubmit her Death Certificate, which I did and as recently as yesterday was told that the loan would be discharged soon. I have never received any mail, or phone calls from Navient, only my persistence in trying to get this cleared from my credit, I'm almost XXXX years old, on Social Security, and still upset on the death of my daughter, to get put through a company that gives incomplete and different answers. Most of those demanding that I must pay are impolite and curt. With all of the indecision as to the loan discharged, or not is upsetting.

Consumer Complaint: I have never authorized deferment or have made a payment for any private loans since 2008. On my credit report it says I have from Navient asking for deferment for Private loans. I have Federal Loans that are in deferment through the DTR but never have authorized for private loan deferment. I have email communication from Navient asking for federal, but never private loans. I know Navient is uses deceitful tactics to trick borrowers. I have contacted my Attorney General as well.I am part of the Debt Collective and have contacted the XXXX XXXX that are heading up the lawsuits against XXXX XXXX and Navient. These loans are past the statute of limitations for collections from a school that was shut down for fraud.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: I have been making payments to Navient for their Sallie Mae Smart Option student loan. My loan now totals $XXXX+. I've made payments of $XXXX+ since 2014 and my total has not gone down. I recently found out that my school that I attended, nor did I graduate, closed down. I had no help or notice from the school's closure. Stricken with this loan, I have no idea how I'm going to pay this off. I've spoken with them to discharge the loan, but they refused saying I'm ineligible. I currently have no degree nor do I have the option to go back to school because my credit score is completely broken due to this loan. I asked if there were ways to lower the interest or the principal amount; they gave me no solutions. The school also has not responded to me since they closed, and I am unable to receive any aid. I work and make just enough to cover my rent and loan. I am stuck in a cycle of torment and have no options available.

Consumer Complaint: My loan began with service by Sallie Mae. Later the loan was sold to XX/XX/XXXX and again later to Navient. The loan was taken out on XX/XX/XXXX. I began paying on the loan after graduation in XX/XX/XXXX. I have been paying on the loan for eleven years and the balance seems to not be going anywhere. The main issues is that in XX/XX/XXXX, I asked Navient for a history of the declining balance. What they provided me did not show payments I had made from XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX as credited to the balance history. This is more then $6,000 in payments. After noticing this, I worked with my bank to obtain proof of these payments. I called Navient and told them of the issue and faxed the cancelled checks to them. Navient sent me an email response stating that since the payments that are not showing on the loan history was when the loan was serviced through XX/XX/XXXX that I would need to contact XX/XX/XXXX. I tried to find contact information fromXX/XX/XXXX. Since my loan was sold to Navient, I no longer had access to my XX/XX/XXXX account online. The website has no phone number or way to reach XX/XX/XXXX. I finally found a phone number for what I thought was XX/XX/XXXX to find it was out of service. I believe there are other payments from earlier in the loan that were not applied to the balance but my bank is unable to go that far back for records. For now, I ask for your help in moving forward with what proof I have of payments to find a resolution to this problem. Any help you can provide for me would be more than appreciated.

Consumer Complaint: I didn't know anything about this until I spoke with XXXX but according to XXXX when NAVIENT transferred all of my loans to them they were informed that Loan A was an income indigent (not sure if that is the correct way to say it) loan. According to XXXX, NAVIENT stated that back in XXXX, 2016 I agreed to change this one loan to this kind of repayment loan. I did not do this because I had already submitted my application to the Dept of ED for loan forgiveness and requested that ALL loans be on hold until the investigation is completed. Also, why would I do this for one out of all of the loans they had for me? Because of this I couldn't consolidate all of my loans when I tried to set up a future repayment plan. No documentation was ever received because if it had I would have disputed this with them back in 2016 and going forward.
